There are a number of militia in Keduk. Corporations, unions, political parties, communes and local governments all maintain their own militias, as do other citizen groups if they so wish. Some militias are licensed under the Planetary Defence Force, while others operate outside of this command structure. The single largest militia is the PPA (Planetary People's Army) which is the armed wing of the PUM (Planetary Union Movement), a massive trade union group representing workers in hundreds of different fields. The PPA operates outside of the PDF although it would probably be prepared to resist an invasion should one occur.

In the Federal Republic of Munster after a citizen has finished his conscription he is given an assault rifle currently C8/C4 carbines but these are being replaced by HK416's after which he serves a compulsory 12 years in the reserves where the must qualify biannually on their weapon system and meet once a month for maneuvers. One the 12 years is completed they often join a local organized militia. Under the immediate command of an elected local representative who in time of war or crisis answers to the regional military HQ

In the CSC, every able-bodied man and woman must maintain an M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle with at least 20 en-bloc clips and at least 700 Rounds of 30-06 Caliber ammunition; and must qualify with it each year against multiple man-sized steel targets at 100-300 meters. They also must maintain an M1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol, at least 5 magazines, and at least 300 rounds of .45 ACP ammunition. All able bodied men (Except for those who object due to religious/moral reasons, etc.) are part of their local militia from age 16-48. Women may voulenteer for the militia as well. Men and women may serve past age 48 if they prove to be in good physical condition.

Invading the USoR would be a very bad idea unless you want the entire population of (currently) 283 million hounding your force of (depending on how many soldiers you have) perhaps one million.

As Hircines try to see a larger picture in the maintaining of a civil society. The Hircus Civil Defense Corps supports the Hircus Defense Force and Star Command. The HCDC will allow any citizens who volunteers , No matter the age to volunteer in any way they are capable. If it is to volunteer to spend time with disabled veterans or to help distribute needed supplies in case of natural disaster. More and More younger people are becoming part of the HDF-Star Command and the Tak'hasor (Space Marine) because of its important roles of in the galaxy.

That phrase does appear in the Mesogirian Constitution, and though we are forced by international circumstance to maintain large standing armies, the principal in one held dear in our country.

All citizens, of sufficient age and physical ability, have the right to serve in their locally-accredited unit of the National Militia, or independent State Militia, provided they can maintain good service reports during training sessions (typically one weekend a month), and during the mandatory two-weeks annual qualification at a regular army base, the largest of which is Fort Resolute, hosting more than 500,000 militiamen and women in total each year.

After compulsory 18 months service, all servicemen have the option of keeping their weapon. The vast majority do so, with many also joining the Military Comrades Association, an extra-parliamentary force that could be somewhat compared to militia.
