Do you recognize Kosovo?

Postby Terio » Thu Jan 10, 2013 5:00 pm

In your opinion, should Kosovo be independent from Serbia?

On 17 February 2008 Kosovo declared itself independent from Serbia. It was recognized by many nations, including the U.S. and most of Europe. Serbia refuses to recognize Kosovo and still considers it part of its territory.

What are your guy's thoughts on Kosovo and its current situation?

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Ofcourse, the collapse of wondrous multicultural Yugoslavia into a whole mess of autonomous states and ethnic/religiously based countries/regions is a great showcase for those of us who oppose multiculturalism.

That said, I don't support the whole bombing of them poor serbz.

Thank you, but it's true. We have these threads every month or so, and it never fucking ends well. But to answer your question, North Kosovo to Serbia, the rest to it's own country, if they try to give themselves to Albania, all of their land becomes forfeit to Serbia

Well, I'm currently researching more on Kosovo as this thread is created. I'm unsure of my opinion at the moment, but it will change as time goes. I want to see what others think first, then make my personal decision.

The Serbs had it coming. We finally bombed the right people. We should have attacked Serbia in 1914, but better late than never.

As long as it claims North Kosovo, and continues to oppress minorities in South Kosovo, I do not recognize Kosovo.

Yes, because bombing innocent civilians over the actions of a rogue group, numerous decades later, just because they have the same ethnicity makes total sense... oh wait, no, it doesn't. It actually makes no sense whatsoever.

There are more than two ethnicities living in Kosovo. And parts of Kosovo are predominantly Serb, parts are predominantly Albanian, parts are predominantly Gorani, parts are predominantly Roma, parts are predominantly Bosniak, parts are predominantly Turk...

Perhaps we should just declare total self-determination, and have everyone live in the Republic of Himselfia!

Since I dislike Serbia and thought that Yugoslavia should never have exhisted, I support Kosovo. I still think that WWI and the Treaty of Versailles were bad. Serbia commited a terrorist offense agaisnt Austria. Serbia should lose it's soveringty to Hungary.

So because a rogue group committed a bad act, the country they claimed was theirs should be destroyed decades later?

It does when their country has truly caused 2 World Wars, the problem in the Middle East, and conflicts in the Balkans. Let's face it the Serbs are trouble makers.

Because it's forcing Serbs to submit to the rule of someone whom they think is a mass murderer.

Indeed. Freedom to the Serbs in South and North Kosovo! Oh, and Central Kosovo as well!

Also, were you actually holding Serbia responsible for both World Wars?
