First Election in the Allied States

The Allied States of the Peaceful Republic are getting ready to have their first national election of the position of Prime Minister of Parliament. Several major figures from both inside and outside the country are predicted to make an effect on this election, considering there are currently no political parties or factions in ASPR. Whoever participates in the election, depending on who they represent, will gain seats in Parliament for their political faction or party proportional to the percentage of votes they receive. Because of this, countries outside of ASPR have the chance to majorly affect the political climate of the nation.

Individuals who wish to create a political party, register as a candidate for Prime Minister, or nominate someone as a candidate, must use the following forms:

Candidates and parties can register up until December 20th. On December 21st, the first poll will be put up with the list of candidates and parties, and the first national debate will take place which all candidates will be invited to. When a candidate attends that debate, he will also have to say which candidate he would endorse should he not win the election. On December 26th, the top three candidates with the most votes on the poll will participate in a final debate against each other. Other candidates not in the top three can still campaign during the debate. Finally, January 2nd will be Election Day. Votes will start coming in across the country and updates will be given gradually as the votes get counted. Instant runoff voting will be used to determine the winner, with votes going to whoever the losing candidate named in the first debate.

So, from today(December 9th) until January 1st, any candidate that is approved can campaign across the country, attend interviews with international media, participate in national/international events, run campaign ads, or invite other candidates to private debates. Updates on public opinion polls, hearsay scandals, or national news will be reported by the ASPR News Network[[OOC: me]]. May the best candidate win!
