The IC is up

Right, this is my first time making my own thread so undoubtably there will be a problem somewhere down the line.
Anyway, the idea is very unoriginal: beginning in 1900 with international relationships relatively accurate (that is to say the French hate the Germans, the Serbs hate the Austrians, that sort of stuff), technology being relatively accurate (in terms of its progression, not who possesses it), that sort of thing.
Changes of government will be possible and up to you, but no massive, sudden changes with no real reason.
I would moderate the thing and do things like posting major news updates every couple of days or set up other threads for particularly large or important things; I would also monitor technology progression (as in if a nation wants to make a big technological leap then they would telegram me and I would, if it was reasonable, announce it in the next news thing) and sort of introduce random events like revolutions, assassinations, financial crashes, etc.
In the event that a revolution takes place I will RP as the revolutionaries, unless you wish to in which case I will RP as the loyalists.

Now, the more eagle eyed among you may notice that the map is not entirely accurate, this is simply because I didn't think people would want to play as some nations, nations that are gone include:
all of Central America except Mexico
All of South America except Brazil and Argentina
Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic
Nepal
Abyssinia (modern Ethiopia)
Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan
Luxembourg
And a couple of bits and pieces
Nations (and who they are played by) :
Britain (Solmakia/me)
France (Kurokishia)
French Indochina (vacant) (created following communist revolution in France)
German-Austrian confederation (Sassinia / Bard Island)
Italy (Kitengenia)
Sweden (trolololistan)
Denmark (Oceanic Atolls)
Netherlands (Sphinxii)
Belgium (Rilhelmia)
Spain (Faransia)
Portugal (vacant)
Albania (Vacant)
Serbia (Garwall)
Greece (EinSerdvan)
Bulgaria (Turkiye Federal Republic)
Romania (Vacant)
Ottoman Empire (Dremono)
China (Great Nepal)
Japan (Toishima)
U.S (Benutanairan)
Mexico (Mezique)
Brazil (Marquette of Pacific)
Confederacy of South American States (The New Lowlands)
Switzerland (me)
Separatist forces in Finland (Tyrrheia)
Separatist forces in Norway (The cold ice)
New states will be added when they form (and destroyed states will be removed)
Assorted NPCs:
Nikola Tesla
(Assorted NPCs will be played by myself, naturally)
So, what do you say?
"Random" Events
Ok, while these events won't actually be random (as I will be the one who decides what they are and who is affected by them) I would like some input as to how they should work.
I have some ideas, namely how I would decide who is affected, for instance if a nation has a corrupt, despotic leadership they would be subject to more revolutionary threats, though massive military presence on the streets would reduce this, while international strife may lead to terrorist actions, like for instance the assassination of a certain Austrian royal, and destruction of resources, major economic groups/nations/areas could lead to a global economic downturn.
For discussion of alliances and such
http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=5&t=212555&p=11965352#p11965352
Alliances that appear to be forming:
Germany, Romania, China, Greece and U.S (Axis)
Russia, France (and communist controlled areas of the French empire) and the Netherlands (USSN)
C.S.A.S and Mexico
Economics, Economics Everywhere
Right, economies: these will be considered by me on a country by country basis as well as a global basis.
Basic things that will be affected by a country's economy will include:
A country's ability to wage war (a country could still declare war and RP a war but their equipment would be poor, their rations would often not be enough.)
A country's susceptibility to "random events" (as in a country with loads of disaffected, poor workers is more likely to have a revolution, a country with economic strife may suffer greatly from disease due to underfunded hospitals, a global economic crash could effectively crush nations with poor economies.)
A country's ability to make technological advances.
More vague things that could be affected by a country's economy (these are factors that should be considered during the RP):
A country's ability to make effective threats (after all who would listen to the threats of a country with no trade and no ability to make war)
A country's ability to influence the global economy (an idea I am considering: if nations have enough economic and military power, then I may allow them to ask me to cause an economic crisis in a country and potentially the world, this would obviously not happen often and I may consider incriminating the nation responsible for such crises.)
A country's economic power would be based on several things:
A country's ability to be self-reliant
A country's control over important trade routes
A country's control over important resources (iron, oil, other such things.)
Strength of a country's industry
A country's technology
A country's military strength (this could be an upside, the military buys loads of weapons and vehicles, or a downside, a country that has too much of its workforce out fighting somewhere will not produce as much.)
The state of the Global economy
The Global Economy would be based off of:
Wars near resources
Revolution and wars near major industrial areas
Technological development
Safety of merchant shipping
And much much more
