What does your soldier look like?

Postby Andos » Sun Dec 02, 2012 2:31 pm

Just post a picture or two of your nation's soldier. This is my (Officer) soldier:
Image
This would be modern or semi-futuristic, not WWII or earlier. Also, describe your soldier's armor, and weapons they're carrying.
For example: This is Andan Stasis 550-C Battlearmor. It is a sophisticated type of armor, usually reserved for officers. It is exceptionally strong, compared to the usual soldier's armor. This man is carrying a G56-TD Assault Rifle, equipped with a Devil's Tail scope. The HUD contains maps and an advanced Andan aiming system, designed to pinpoint the location of the target, manufactured by Andos Tech. (Military producer of Andos)

Dremono's Common Infantrymen usually wears this uniform, perhaps with some differences, but all the same equipment.
Image I am sorry for the small picture. The average soldier usually carries the M2RO 75 as a main assault rifle, the XM-25 grenade launcher as a special weapon for specific missions, and M682 Pistol as a second, more compact-but less powerful weapon. The armor for a standard soldier is quite light, but our camouflages our highly developed. The sunglasses on this soldier give a map of the area, and communications systems. This is very low-def stuff, but it works rather good. The mask he is wearing is a simple, bulletproof Kevlar cover. A soldier wearing heavy armor and going into tough engagements would wear a HULC suit, one that is a protective, heavy-duty suit. (The HULC Suit is real.) :)

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible principled egalitarian with few strong convictions.

How do people post these kinds of threads here even? F&NI is literally the first board you see the description of if you click "forum" (unless of course you get to the General board through the sidebar, maybe that's it).

Confederacy soldiers typically dress in world war 1 style U.S. cavalry uniforms that feature a built in bullet proof vest and elbow/knee padding.

Let alone take a few seconds to see the content of General and think 'Gee, is this the right place to put it? It doesn't look like there's much in-character stuff here at all'.

From a similar thread:

There are two types of soldier:

The Huscarl

Image

The Household soldier, they are well trained, battle hardened veterans. These heavy troops are equiped with byrne (chain maille), large shields, High quality swords and Dane-axes.

The Fyrd

Image

The Weapon-man, they are not well trained and consist of mostly farmers. These men can be fearsome in battle but will often chase down their opponents leading to bad consequences. They are equiped with woollen tunics, simple shields, spears, axes and cheaply made swords.
Angles and Saxons came up over broad sea, Britain they sought, proud war smiths, the Welsh they overcame, warriors eager for glory, the country they seized.

That would have been a horrific thread.

This is Andan General Ceremonial Armor. The generals wear this on dress occasions, such as promotions, etc. It may look ancient at first, but take a closer look. :)
