"Whats Your Religion" Super Dooper Advanced Poll

As proposed in the "Advanced" poll, the latest, must-have, next gen religion poll has now arrived at an interwebz near YOU!*

A few points with this poll, please read before voting!

1.Parody Religions. Unless it is a sincere and actual religious belief, go with "non-religious"
2. If you are an Agnostic X (Agnostic Christian etc.) then best choose "Agnostic".
3. Wicca as a New Religion is really for those following one of it's recognised traditions (Gardinerian, Alexandrian, Dianic etc.). Eclectic followers would be better regarded as Eclectic/New Age.
4. Tamerian Wicca is eclectic rather than Recon or "pure" Wiccan.
5. Gnosticism. Go with "Abrahamic" unless you adhere to a specifically non-Abrahamic view.

Now, for hte sakes of courtesy:
* Please do not turn this into a atheist vs. religious pissing contest. rest assured your e-penis so so big, very big e-penis. You don't need to show it off here. We are all very honoured to be in it's presence.

* Do not seek converts. Your gods may be awesome, but as far as others are concerned, so are theirs. Explanation is fine. Preaching will end up in a flame-fest.

* Abrahamic religions aren't the be all and end all of religion. Just because you have the perfect put down to the abrahamic world view doesn't mean you have proved anything about all religions.



* Unless you are in the People's Democratic Republic of Korea

Not a Satanist, but I guess it'd depend. Not all Satanists are theistic, but some are.

No. Let me look at the poll, but it would most accurately fall under Atheism.

Edit: It would fall under New Religions (Rastafarianism, Wicca, Scientology etc.), Eclectic/New Age Beliefs, or Other.

Not a Satanist, but I guess it'd depend. Not all Satanists are theistic, but some are.

Theistic satanists would definitely fall under Abrahamic.

To follow the explanation in the OP, I picked Eclectic because animism allows me to be eclectic and pick up connections from many different traditions. Also, being an American of mixed cultural ancestry encourages, almost requires, me to be eclectic in my spiritual practice.

I'm not 100% satisfied with that, but I will take it as, technically, the most accurate description. Unfortunately, it is not a very descriptive cubbyhole -- it tells people nothing about my what my beliefs are. But I'm used to that by now.

I would like to object to the complaints that this thread is superfluous after all the other what's your religion threads lately. I see this one as a correction to the idiocy and/or hostility of those other threads, and I hope it will finally put an end to that competing round of nonsense by showing how to do such a survey right. Hopefully, this thread will either collect enough real information/commentary that it will satisfy people's curiosity for a few months, or else it will be civilized enough to bore the various trolls and flamers on all sides.
