Which "alcohol belt" is your nation in?

Postby Neragua » Tue Nov 27, 2012 6:09 am

This is a map of the "alcohol belts" of Europe, whereby Europe is divided into which alcoholic drinks areas are primarily is associated with and are historically most popular.
Image

Beer belt – Includes, the British Isles, Germany and Central Europe and the Benelux countries.
Wine belt – Southern Europe from Spain through to Greece as well as southern areas bordering the Black Sea.
Vodka belt – Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Russia.

As you can see, there are also areas that are associated with more than one (in some places, all three) belts.

So which "alcohol belt(s)" would your nation belong to (if any)?

Neragua is primarily a wine belt nation, although we have large beer belt areas. Historically, vodka was hard to come by in Neragua.

All three.

If it's got alcohol in it, a Demirilyn will drink it.

Vodka and Beer are the most consumed and produced alcoholic beverages in Zokoria, although the Prohibition is gaining support recently.

We're in the rum belt, which is farther down around the earth's waist, not up under its armpits like you guys.

The current best-selling brands of rum, in no particular order, are Captain Criggin, Captain Zagor, Captain Ulvaeus and Captain Dexter. It's probably just a coincidence that they're all named after pirates. There are several brands which are not, such as Teddy Bear brand, which is aimed at a younger consumer. Brands differ quite widely in price and in how much they taste like gasoline.

Wine has traditionally been the predominant alcoholic beverage, though beer is increasingly gaining popularity. Wine is still dominant though.
