I am an agnostic theist at the moment, and because I was raised (kind of) Christian, I see myself as a Christian at the moment...

Actually for me it would have been publicly denouncing Catholicism that got me kicked out.

Under the Code of Canon Law, apostasy (formal renunciation of religion) and heresy are both grounds for latae sententiae (automatic as soon as you commit the act) excommunication. I've committed both, repeatedly.

If you're non-hetero and Catholic you're expected to have a vow of celibacy for the rest of your life, since you can't have sex outside of marriage and marriage between two people of the same-sex is not a real marriage. And they still view being non-hetero as a sin and as being "intrinsically disordered"

Not to mention the huge amounts of money they give to anti-same sex marriage groups in the US and around the world, see the last US federal election, while maintaining their tax-free status.
