Use of images

I'm a artist on DeviantArt, and I discovered this forum by doing a google search of my name and perusing my images. One was linked here without permission or credit given. Granted, my name is in the link itself, but I still feel this adds up to copyright infringement.

Don't get me wrong, if the person who posted the link had bothered to ask I would have approved the usage, but they didn't, thus my issue.

Is there a standard within this board system to address this? I'd be fine with the person linking to the page the image is on rather than just the image itself, and am always open for commissions of art tailored to a person's needs...

A very cursory glance at the rules threads (you'll find the entrance at the top of the forum) did not turn up anything about hot-linking copyrighted information. You might start this thread in the Moderation forum.

I don't know what DeviantArt's permissions set up is like, but I you could look into turning off hot-linking for your images. Alternatively, you could slap an "all rights reserved" banner over the image, or down at the bottom or off to one side or something. I realize this tends to spoil the art, but there ought to be ways around that.

Finally, if you tell who did this, we'll kill them in a ritualistic manner. *rubs hands together* we haven't done that in quite a long time.

That's the moderation forum. They'll know what to do. Be specific where your images are being used, so they can easily take care of it

Thanks for the input, but I don't want to get anyone in trouble. I have finally figured out how to send a telegram to the person in question and request they change the link so that I get the credit I'm due.

I'll let you know if the killing is necessary after I get a response (or don't).
