The Tourists in Smoya[IC]

Postby Smoya » Sat Oct 13, 2012 2:19 pm

OOC: Only post here if you applied to be on this. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=203932 is the OOC applications.

IC: Today was the day many tourists would be coming to Smoya from around the world. It was a bright sunny day, when Smoyan Airlines flights were departing for the world...

The reason why so much tourists would be coming is because this was the time of year the most tourists came. Because of this, more exursions were set for the tourists. Dronden got many tourists, and it is the nation's capital. Monopville has the highest pop. and is getting more tourists by the day.

The tourists have got on their flights. They all went smoothly, but one had a person on board messing with the terminals...One also had a drink spill on them, so they had to go to the bathroom. But now, most people have landed. They are all going to their hotels. One taxi had a very wild driver and he knocked someone off a bike, and his"TAXI" sign fell off! And, all ready on the first night they arrived, someone broke into a gun store, and stole a gun. Now the police are after him.

"Come on hurry up! Do you want to miss the plane?"

Steven was shouting this to his girlfriend who, despite getting up 1 hour earlier, was still in the bathroom. Eventually she appeared and ran down the stairs after checking she had passports.

The two had laready phoned a taxi, which had been waiting outside for about 15 minutes. The two clammbered in the taxi and instructed the driver where to go. Withing a few minutes they had reached the airport. They quickly handed in their luggage and completed the necessary checks. Now they could relax in the lounge. Steven turned to Emma,

"Well, a great start to the holiday that would have been. Imagine missing the flight. What took you so long anyway?"

Emma said sharply, "I was trying to hurry, but we are here now, so stop your worrying."

The couples flight was called and they entered the plane, they were glad to sit down. Soon they would be arriving in Smoya. And Steven had a superise instore for Emma when they got their.

Sevs was happy to have a vacation. It was nice to get out and see the world outside the factories and Agency regulations that boged down any sense of leisure in his hometown, District Three. Having already packed, hailed a public transport to take him to the airport, and arriving ahead of schedule, Sevs walked through the national airport, moving towards a security checkpoint. A pair of armed Agents in full body armor stood on either side of a metal detector, as one held out a hand to motion Sevs to stop.

The guard looked at Sevs, a mixed expression of boredom and attentivness on his face. "Identity number, citizen?" the guard asked.

"77-1033," Sevs began reciting from memory "factory worker, District Three." That was one thing outsiders seemed to never understand was the almost insane amount of security in Liccena. The tourist idely waited as the guard ran his ID number through a national database.

The guard handed Sevs a small piece of offical paper, stamping it with the symbol of District One and the Agency, "Citizen 77-1033 approved from travel to Smoyan city of Dronden." And with that, Sevs made his way past security to his terminal, taking a seat in the small, heavily chaired area as he waited for his flight to arrive.

When the flight arrived, Sevs boarded, slightly culture shocked at the comparitive extravagence of the Smoyan plane and attendants, and took his seat. Wouldn't be long and he'd have his first taste of international cultures.

After everyone was in the plane, a man spoke in a deep voice" Hello, welcome aboard Smoyan airlines. We hope you enjoy the flight, but before we take off, please fasten your seat belts. Also, in case of a crash, there are many health supplies in the back pocket of your chair. If you put on the plane's headphones, and tune to channels, you can hear music. Thank you and enjoy your flight." The flight did not take off till everyone was in a seat belt.

Before we leave, please disconnect all laptops, phones, radios, and all things using satilite. Enjoy the flight." he said as the plane took off in a little drizzle of rain.

Solarz City Airport
Titan Solom looked at the secuirty guard in front of him; anger bubbled in his stomach, and he went through in his head a scenario where he punched the guy in the face, took his gun, and held everyone in the airport hostage. He was being asked to submit to a pat-down!
"Excuse me..."
He squinted to read his name tag; he forgot to put in his contacts when he packed them. He wasn't entirely sure if the guard was male or female.
"Mr...Dirck, perhaps you don't know who I am?"
"Sir, it's completely random, anyone could be asked to submit to these."
"I don't need to hide any weapons to be a threat! I could kill anyone here with my bare hands!"
He pulled out his Veteran's ID, and begin to flash it around.
The security guard looked up to Solom with jaded eyes; this was the Republic, he was used to thinly veiled death threats.
"Sir, it's just a routine check, we all have to do our part to ensure everyone remains safe."

Solom was taken aback at these words; he was tired, and cranky, but the man's words reminded him of the necessity of ensuring the safety of the common plane passenger. He spoke again as he spread his arms across the wall, and the security guard began his check.
"I apologize, I've had a pretty bad...year."
He was just beginning to recover from a bad blow done to his business; he was taking a vacation, getting a little break from all the buisness politicking, and a chance to relax he hadn't gotten since he was in College. Smoya seemed like a nice country; it would be his first actual vacation, not a military deployment from his service that ended five years ago, a business venture, or part of his soul-searching trip across the world ten years earlier.

He wasn't used to wearing a t-shirt or jeans either; the lack of a bullet-proof vest behind his shirt made him feel light, vulnerable, almost naked. He didn't even get to bring his granddaddy's sword, or his pistol. He would have to use his hands if he ever had to defend himself.

He waited patiently as the security guard groped him, looking for any possible weapons he may of hidden on his person. When he was satisfied that he was clean, Solom was passed on. He felt bad about being an ass to the guard; during his stint as a cop, he had to put up with a lot of crap like that. He made a mental note to buy this airport and promote him, or maybe just give him some money.

It was a simple matter to get his luggage checked, and with his small bag he found a seat as he waited for his plane to get ready. He pulled out his laptop and made sure all his affairs were in order. Once he was confident of such, he turned to gaming as he waited for his plane to begin boarding.

Soon, his flight was called. He recognized the plane was not of his nation; it was a Smoyan airplane. He hoped the first class was nice; he made a brief check to his small bag to ensure his large sum of money was still there; all the money he was going to spend was right in the sack. There was well over 100,000 dollars. He figured he would be fine with finical matters.

As he walked onto the plane, he began to briefly fanatzie about his time in Smoya; maybe he could find love, or maybe he could find something immensely profitable. Either would work for him. He took his seat and waited for the typical announcements.

Amber was an amateur photographer looking to get her work published. She had plenty of dynamic and great shots around Eeri where she was born and raised but now was the time to start exploring the outside world some more, beyond what you could see at your computer screen. She had a passion for the still photos even with video streaming sites booming she felt nothing could top the beauty and impact of a simple still photograph. It was an art that never would die. Even if the fate of news print remained uncertain, still photographs would always remain. Her sister Erika was a farmer and had only interest in land, weather, and family, so she was brushed off by her sister in the idea of going overseas for a while. Still Erika wanted to see her sister off on this trip. Weather was looking okay but storms were fast approaching the airport. "You still could go with me," Amber said "Really, a few hundred Ameros to have my sister with me."

"Can't just pack up and leave, I've got a husband and two kids and a farm to care for. I'm not as flighty as you."

"I'm not flighty, I'm just spontaneous. That's why I didn't follow you into farming so I could spring up and into action whenever I want."

Erika could tell what she thought but with the darkening skies she wanted to her sister to make it into the sky safely. Twice there had been fatal crashes at Mabinogi International both during severe thunderstorms. One overshoot on the runway one brought down by a microburst. Erika never understood why anyone would fly. Once parked at the terminal the two sister hugged. They fought and had their differences but they loved each other regardless. "I'll be fine, a little thunderstorm is all. I'll call you once I'm there."

Even with bad weather around the airport there was enough clearance the plane could make a successful take off without much to worry about. Once the plane was fully boarded they could get set for takeoff.

As everyone was on, and seated with a seat belt, the plane took off. At first, the plane was off course, but then it got back on. When it was flying smoothly, flight attendants came up to people to ask if they wanted something. One, with the name tag "Debbie" walked up to Titan and said, "Hello, would you like anything?"

In the cockpit, things were going swell. Everything was going as planned. When the two hour mark came, the captain said, "Hello, we would like to tell you we will arrive in Dronden in 2 hours.". At the Smoyan air control center in Dronden, they asked," How's the flight going sir?"

Marina crossed the airport, holding her granddaughter Miriam's hand. Her husband of 30 years, Paul, walked behind her, pulling the luggage cart. Miriam skipped, singing a popular children's song to herself. Excitement lit up her eyes. "I've never been on a plane before," she said to anyone who would listen. Marina apologized with her eyes. Mothers, holding their own children, smiled knowingly. A few tourists at the airport gawked at the sight of the royal family, who had no security team. The natives, however, were used to seeing the Queen in casual places.

The family walked over to their private plane at 7:30 pm. They boarded quietly. The plane took off, and Miriam's eyes widened. Marina smiled, assuring her that everything would be all right. The plane steadied, and Miriam, watching a cartoon in the small television, nodded off to sleep. The Queen ordered a coffee, and sipped it slowly. She closed her eyes, but fear gripped her heart. This was only her second time in Smoya, and she hoped this time would be better than the first, which ended in a nuclear war. She knew it would be okay, because this time she was a tourist, not a dignitary. Paul sensed her tension, and held her hand. She smiled at him. It was a 20 hour flight to Dronden, so they ordered dinner (fried chicken for everyone!), and clicked the button that turned their seats into beds.

Solom looked up to the flight attendant, named Debbie, asking him if he wanted anything. Solom's thoughts rushed as he wondered what he could possibly get; since he had no real idea what was available, he asked.
"What do you have?"
He reached into his wad of cash and pulled out a hundred dollar bill; that would be able to cover whatever was available, he told himself.
"And besides food and drink, does this plane have anything of note on it?"
Titan waited for a response as he looked at attendant.

Fried chicken arrived at their beds shortly. Fried chicken filled the air of the plane. A beep noise was heard which meant 4 more hours till they arrive in Smoya. A flight attendant walked up to the queen and queen and said in a high voice,"Hello, there. Are you enjoying your flight? Sorry to bother, but if you would like to watch a movie before bed, we have a movie machine behind your bed. Just make sure if it's not meant for younger kids, please keep it down." Then, she smiled at Miriam and said," Hello there! Are you enjoying the flight? What's your name?" she said in a happy tone.

"Well, we have chips, celery, pretzels, nuts, sandwiches, and very small burgers. For drinks, we have lemonade, apple juice, water, soda, sprite, and wine. But, you could only have 2 cups of wine." After she saw the hundred dollar bill, her eyes lit up. She responded, " We also have mini televisions, headphones, magazines, you name it."

The captain then said, " 1 more hour till arrival" he said in the bright morning sunlight.

Titan nodded; he was used to more luxurious flights, but he survived a month on wild berries, he could go an hour on a small burger.
"I'll take a burger and a soda. And two relatively unbiased news magazines from Smoya, one more political, one more... sensationalist. Keep the change."
He handed the attendant the hundred dollar bill; he saw her eyes light up as he pulled it out, and figured he might as well be nice. The woman probably had to deal with being oggeled a lot. He hoped to get caught up on what was going on around Smoya, see if anything major was happening, plus learn what was up with the ''celebrities'' of this land. The burger would serve to sate his appetite for the time being, and the soda would satisfy his ever-present caffeine addiction.

The lady returned and gave him the magazines. " Here you are." Where are...", then, the captain spoke." Hello, is anyone on a cell phone right now? We can't get in touch with another flight. They seem to be in a thunder storm. So, does anyone have a cell phone?" Then he whispered something to a flight attendant. She walked up to passengers, checked to see if their cell phones were off, then walked on. "I better check your phone" said Debby to Titan. "May I see it?" she said, wondering what the heck was going on.

Solom pulled out a phone from his pocket; it was a pretty cheap and basic phone, and it was the decoy he had available in case anyone tried to steal his cell phone. His rather expensive military-grade smart-phone was contained tightly in his small bag. Both phones were powered off, so Titan knew he was not the cause of any trouble. He didn't like people checking his stuff, and he made this rather plain through his body language, though he did not actually say anything as he handed the cheap phone to the attendant.
He turned to the magazines and quickly perused them immediately after he handed the phone to be checked, while with his other hand he held his burger which he began to eat.
He wondered what was the cause of this paranoia on the part of the attendants, and as he thought, his own paranoia began to build up. He began to give half-glances at the other passengers, looking for the one who might be a terrorist. His military training in the Republican Counter Insurgency Force allowed him to detect the minor tells that separated a hostile from a civvie, and with a solider's eye he combed over everyone in the plane. He finally spoke to the attendant.

"Well, kind of." said Debby. " Someone is on a phone, and we can't talk to any flight somehow. I'll be right back" she said as she walked toward the bathroom. Then, a man hid behind a blanket. A light showed up in it, with little sounds.

Marina smiled, but looked puzzled. 'This is a private plane,' she thought. 'There is no one here to annoy.' "The flight is fine," she said. "I don't think we'll watch a movie tonight. The little one is tired."
Miriam smiled up at the flight attendant. "My name is Miriam," she said. "And this is my Grandmama and Big Daddy. She's the Queen! And when I grow up, I'll be Queen, too!" She bounced in her chair. She yawned, and scooted down in her chair.

Titan heard the sounds, and looked towards the man who was the source. He thought to question him about what damn Terrorists he's texting, but refrained as his reason slipped back into his head. He figured the man was just being kind of an ass, and so he chuckled lightly. He spoke carefully to the man, just loud enough so he could hear him.
"You should consider turning that off."
He looked at the man menacingly; he didn't have to make any threats to intimidate someone, and the veteran's shoulders widened to show off his real size.
"You really have no idea what could happen if they can't talk to the terminal. We could all crash and die. Or we could be the only two survivors..."
He thought about making a comment about having to eat him if he was stuck for a while, but he decided that should be enough to properly intimidate him.

The flight attendant told the queen, "Okay, enjoy the flight." Then she responded to Miriam, " Well hi there Miriam! So your going to be queen? Great! Since you will be the future queen, would you like a coloring book or Smoyan Airline badge?"

Hours later, the captain said in the cool night, " 30 more minutes till Smoya. This is where it get's kind of Bumpy. Right now, we are flying over Wayne Island, Smoya. There is the biggest Smoyan observatory below us if you would like to see."

The man replied," Don't tell I'm using a phone. I'm just...staying in contact with someone..."

"It could wait until you land, unless you're doing something widely illegal."
Solom went through his head and wondered what the man was doing; all likelihood, he was talking to his wife or mistress. Still, he kind of hoped he was doing something illegal so this flight could be exciting.
"In any case, you need to turn off the phone so the plane can contact the terminal; if it can't contact the terminal, we can't land; we can't land, we circle around until we're out of fuel and then we crash, and probably die. Understand?"

"Well, let's just say I will keep it on. How about I talk to the terminal. It will be more fun for me. I'll just say I'm the captain. Got it?" he said as he talked to the terminal.
