What are your nations major national holidays?

In Charellia we celebrate Federation Day on May 12. On this day people gather in parks and town squares and celebrate our nations founding. The largest of these celebrations is in the Federation Gardens of Union City.

The most popular holiday is Foundation Day (August 31). There's lots of celebration, music, and fireworks. Also, there's March 9, because "3-9" can be read as "mi-ku". It also happens to be the date of our constitution's ratification.

Remembrance: A national day of mourning and silence to remember several events in Amerigo's history, chiefly the destruction of November City in a nuclear separatist attack.

Amerigo Day: National day of celebration for the day that the current Greater Amerigonian government was formed.

Science Day: Unofficially was formed in 2023 by public schools and universities to be a day devoted to the sciences. By 2026 the federal government, in an effort to raise awareness in the sciences, had mandated that all public and private schools make the day one devoted to science, either through field trips to science-related areas (like the sponsored trips to the Space Reclamation Mission facilities throughout Amerigo) or a day devoted to hearing scientists and engineers speak and present at schools. Many scientists and engineers provide this service for free every year.

Winter Holiday: The blanket-holiday provided over the course of the winter. Mandated by the government.

Launch Day: Commemorates the launch of the first and last components of the Krase Scientific Station, the major space station in orbit.

the four primal points of the year, the solstices and equinoxes, and the first days of every solar "month".
i put month in quotes, because the even subdivisions of our year, are not based on the periodicity nor aspects of our moons.

December 25: Christmas, for the Christian minority (about 11% of the total population) who would celebrate it
February 14: Free Love Day (an anti-Valentine's Day celebration of non-monogamous living)
March 17: St. Patrick's Day, which is a major holiday due to our huge Irish population
March 21: Vernal Equinox

Yuletide - December 21st - January 6th, Basically Christmas without all that religious bullshit. Starts on the Winter Solstice or the day before and ends on Orsell Day.

Halloween - Obviously October 31st. We use cacti alongside pumpkins for Jack o' Lanterns because we just have sooooo much cacti growing everywhere.

Bison Day - April 29th, the day the Arotinitee Empire was founded in 800-something. Ends with fireworks and stuff. Basically our 4th of July.

Orsell Day - January 6th, the end of Yuletide, The day Jay Orsell saw the mountains of Thama in the desert in 1811 or something.

Burning Day - February 28th, Anniversary of the Balatan Slaughter when the members of the fascist group, The Great League of Aral, slaughtered thousands of people in the city of Balatan and were then captured, brutally tortured and burned alive by the public. It usually consists of a parade which ends whith a show in which a huge straw statue of the League's leader is ripped to shreds and burned on a huge bonfire.

Trinity Day - July 20th, A holiday honoring the soldiers of the TAF, TAN and TCA. Big Ass Military Parade. Awesome stuff like rockets, gun shows, Aerobatic shows, Titans running around, being able to go inside a Titan, TCA space fighters flying around, you know, stuff like that.

Phoenix Day - March 14th - Not Related to Pi day at all. Another parade. Things relating to a Phoenix, the Phoenix is Thama's symbol. Well, The Phoenix and the Bison are. But this is Phoenix day. Swifter Wharf's Parade includes painting a Phoenix on a carrier and attaching huge wings. The carrier then flies around above Xanad Park.

On August 16 we celebrate Liberty Day the anniversary of the Ourdrian Revolution by rescinding the bans on loud music, colourful clothing, public drinking, public singing and public gatherings of more than five people for the day.

On January 13 we celebrate Utopia Day which marks the end of the Ourdrian Civil War. This is a solemn day on which people are required to stay home and watch the annual ceremonies on television.

National Day: Celebrates our entire nation, and the day it was created. Celebrated on the 10th of September.

Christmas: Celebrates peace and goodwill among our civilians, based off the old world holiday of Christmas. Celebrated on the 17th of December

Rememberance Day: Remembering those who died during the Grand World War. Celebrated on the 15th of January

Halloween: A rather Cultural Holiday, not recognized as a national holiday, but the market takes advantage of it. Celebrated on the 31st of October
