Note: This isn't a chat thread like General's Eternal Thread, Gameplay's Neutral Ground and F7's Flaming Wombat.

We'd like to keep things centred around topics related to this forum, and specifically roleplaying (tips, hints, etc.). Discuss character development, RP genres or wage discussions that you'd rather have outside of your thread OOCs.

There are people who have more trouble than others with getting a concept worked out. Others get it done pretty easily, or prefer to base their RP on a previous one to reduce their work-load. Then you have the people that have a concept, but are afraid to put it out there because of a possible lack of interest.

No more with that, I say!

Put your ideas forward here, the brilliant members of the Multiverse are sure to have one or two cents to add to your idea and mold it into a concept bound to garner that attention it deserves.

This thread is for three (3) things:

ImageDiscussion
As long as its related to roleplaying and the Multiverse, you're welcome to discuss anything here.

ImageBrainstorming
You have a Roleplay concept or idea, but you don't know how to work this raw creation into something more refined. You post it here, describe your idea and put it on the table, then other members of the Multiverse get to give you their two cents - and some advice - so that you can trim off those sharp edges and improve your concept with details until it's ready to be posted. Stick to your idea, though; don't let others tell you what to do, it's still your idea. You're also free to put forwards your ideas here, even if you don't intend to use it yourself. Maybe one of the members of this Think Tank might be interested in it.

ImageAdvice
Any question you might have laying around may be posted here. This is a thread dedicated to 'helping' you out, where your fellow RP'ers will be the ones doing the helping. Whether you want pointers or can't figure something out, post it here. In essence, this thread is the equivalent of the RP'ing Questions Thread. Despite the myriad of capable Mentors, most have little experience with P2TM RP's and etiquette (if there is any), so I believe that we should have questions related to P2TM answered by people from P2TM. You don't ask a Frenchman directions in London (Unless he lives there, or has a map, or know a friend...you know what I mean.)

Note: For II-related question or general questions regarding your RP'ing, contact the II Mentors or go here

With this initiative, which is completely funded by my offshore bank account, I seek to help people work out raw concepts into marvelous RP fresco's. Nobody likes an unbaked bread - and if you do, you'll probably be sick after eating it - so get it baked here. With chocolate or without it, you're the OP. Mold that dough into the most awesome bread this forum has ever seen!

Turtle never tasted so damn awesome and so guilt-free! This is what your RP could be like!

Im not good at making roleplays, but I have two good ( in my opinion ) ideas for an roleplay, that perhaps someone else can pick up.

First, an World war one rp, playing as a soldier in the trenches with grim dark and whatnot.

My second and last one, an World war two roleplay, where instead of playing as a nation, you pick up the command of anywhere from an regiment, to a division or even to an entire army(group).
I am from the United States, just so you know.

Well, it might be a good idea to work out one or both of those ideas, if you plan on putting them out there. Maybe work together with someone who previously player or OP'ed a World War RP. The problem is that you have to be both innovative but recognizable by the P2MV RP'ers, because I've experienced that foreign concepts are sometimes met with some caution compared to the familiar Teenage Superhero RP, to give an example.

World War RPs are also a regular sight here, as far as I know, so you might want to think of way to attract people and distinguish it from its predecessors. Your RP's premise (as a soldier/division) is a start, but you may want to add something more, perhaps even make it an alternative WW1 RP, if you feel up to it. Otherwise you're good with doing some research on WW1 and the location you intend to situate your RP in.

I got one.

A prison.

It's massive, and has been there as long as anyone can remember. The inhabitants have long since gave up on the idea of an 'Outside', and survival pits certain groups against each other to scavenge what supplies they can.

Flesh it out and I think it'd be pretty awesome.

Trying to work on a RP loosely based on Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, and when I say loosely based I mean, follows the same basic plot and has mentions of a couple of the main characters in it, but just letting it be Sky pirates exploring the newly found sky continent of Lemures, that's about all I've got though. Trying to work out how, or even if I should try and get some of the other gameplay stuff into it (like espers) or whether to just leave it as sky pirates etc. Any help would be appreciated,

Fallout 3: The Pitt pops up into my head. Might want to look into that for inspiration.

The point of this thread is for you to work out your ideas with the help of others, though. Others aren't supposed to do it for you, because that wouldn't really make it your own RP anymore. ;)

If you want to run anything by the rest of the community here, you can post it here to see how they would react.

I skipped Revenant Wings, sadly, but I played FF:XII. What do you have so far in term of the plot? Have you thought of any personal twists to deviate from the game's storyline?

I'm thinking of starting it so that the Sky Pirates have already chosen the side their on, either fighting for the Judge of Wings or for the Aegyl, but the basic plot is that each group wants to find three giant pieces of Crystal (can't remember the actual name at the moment) and dependent on which group destroys it either Fealthanos (the God who the Judge of Wings is fighting for) grows more powerful and prepares the Aegyl to invade Ivalice, with the help of the Sky Pirates who support the judge of wings. OR if those fighting for the Aegyl destroy it, it gives the Aegyl back their anima meaning they get their emotions back, helping prevent the invasion of Ivalice.

Haven't though of any plot twists yet, but am probably going to have to.

An FF RP would be fun.

I'm thinking a couple groups. One consisting of around five, some small amount of people who still think they can escape. Another the 'good guys' of this world, doing their best to civilize the ravaged, ruined landscape. And then the 'bad guys', who do whatever it takes to survive, no matter how disgusting and evil.

I like this. Sort of reminds me of the foreign prison in The Dark Knight Rises. I would be willing to help out w/ this one.

I had an idea for a futuristic RP, using the Doctor Who universe to determine several inhabited planets (or another). PC's will be located on any of the inhabitable planets/colonies and sub-sequentially drafted for an expedition force to investigate the sudden disappearance of a number of stars at the rim of the known galaxy. Having received signs of the presence of a dark galaxy, scientist intend to gather information about this phenomenon as well, seeing if it could be related. For this they will travel to the planet of Arcanus, an outpost near the edge of the inhabited cluster of planets.

PC will be free to explore their own environment on the planet they initially inhabit, hopefully with several others to allow them some interaction. However, until the ship arrives to pick them up, they're on their own to work on their character development with some help of other RP'ers. They can live at a space colony as well.

I'm writing up a concept for an all-new zombie apocalypse RP series. I don't have it right now, but there's a comprehensive US outbreak map, detailing free zones and whatnot. The series setting is essentially a well-blended puree of L4D, George Romero's movies, and a number of other similar media. I'll be able to post more details in a couple days.

What makes this different from other, similar RPs is threefold. First, it's set in an entirely unique universe, not established by any previous media. I've created this backdrop entirely from scratch, taking only inspiration and leaving only footprints as far as my sources are concerned. And I've done my best to make it a realistic scenario, too, unlike most other Z-apocalypse tales. Second, it's going to consist of multiple RPs for different groups of people in different places. We'll probably have half a dozen campaigns, all set in different parts of the US. Third, I'm going to write out a general plot beforehand. The players won't be bumbling about in some town doing nothing as the RP dies. They'll have an objective or two to shoot for, sometimes literally, in their bid to escape the numberless, shambling horde. In this manner, anyone can cause the plot to advance, not just me.

I'm posting this here because I need to recruit people as Co-OPs. If possible, I'd like to only run one campaign personally, and have other people work with me in creating and telling other stories. We'd all convene in a central OOC hub thread. Anyone interested in joining as a player or Co-OP should telegram me.

This sounds like a pretty good twist to the regular (and boring, to be honest) zombie apocalypse RP that has been done many times before. It hope it works out! I can't help you out in the co-OP'ing department, though, since I just launched my own RP.

I'm interested though as to what you mean with an entirely unique universe.

True dat.

What I seek to accomplish most with this thread is to unify the groups of people that want a superhero, or a zombie, or ponies (whatever) RP and put them together in one giant lump of unified dough, which can then be baked into one big successful RP rather than a lot of little ones.

Cookies get eaten fairly quickly, but a bread lasts longer, for sure.

And no, I won't stop using bread-analogies.
