All state controlled and all market controlled are HORRIBLE ideas. There needs to be a free market, with sensible regulations that protect consumers and ensures fair, competitive societies.

respecting civil rights/liberties should be the priority of any society.

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

haha, thanks for the heads up. I've debated pro communist people, and they can't point to ONE example of a communist non-state. Then, by default, communism is only a theory that cannot be applied to modern ways of life.

Capitalist societies have proven to be more free and more prosperous. It's a hands down win for capitalism.

Of course, the communists will claim that no true communist society (at least on a national scale) has ever existed. While it is true, it is also true that the leaders of those societies, for the most part, did believe in communism, and did attempt to establish it. Through force.

A communist couldnt point out to you the Paris Commune?
Nor even mention one of the many succesful eco communes?
Or if mentioning syndicalism, talk about the success of Mondragon?
Who on earth where you talking to?

Contrary to the propaganda, we live in probably the least materialistic culture in history. If we cared about the things of the world, we would treat them quite differently. We would be concerned with their materiality. We would be interested in their beginnings and their ends, before and after they left our grasp.

No. I'm wondering why Sibirsky said it's proven that capitalist societies are more free, and then turn around admitting no communist society on a national scale has been implemented.
