We don't have hyperdrive and wish we did, but we have made significant improvements in cryonic suspension technologies. We do far less damage to tissues, and nanotechnology is capable of repairing most damage.

The latest would probably be the commercialization and perfection of stimulant-based alcoholic beverages, which can stimulate the senses rather than dull them. As we speak, alcohol is becoming legal here by mixing coke into its formula. (since depressants are extremely dangerous for Crucilandians to use)

Well recently the genomes of several plant species were sequenced:
- Ilex aquifolium (English Holly)
- Hedera helix (English Ivy)
- Tilia cordata (Small-leaved Lime)
- Hippomane mancinella (Manchineel tree)
- Viscum album (European Mistletoe)
- Maclura pomifera (Osage-orange)
- Ligustrum vulgare (Privet)
- Symphoricarpos albus (Common Snowberry)
- Sapindus mukorossi (Indian Soapberry)

Although I doubt that it was Uirokeilendh's last scientific breakthrough, it is scientifically significant & recent.

Our latest scientific breakthrough was a new method of getting those two really flat lego pieces.
It's essentially just a thin lever specifically for separating lego pieces...yeah...

The development of prosthetic limbs that interface with the neurological system is considered the last huge breakthrough for the Federation.

It's also spawned a massive controversy, as many are worried about the potential for people to intentionally dismember themselves to replace their perfectly good limbs with these devices. Additionally, many are worried that the impulse router for these prosthetic limbs will permit the government to shut off people's body parts, thus expanding their control.

As it stands, prosthetics are still sub-par compared to actual body parts here in the Federation, with one exception: the Grand Commander's eye. Most of the controversy is about the future of artificial body parts.

Several years ago, our suborbital laboratory (Installation Alpha-Null) successfully demonstrated the feasibility of converting neutrinos & photons into baryons via Higgs-Field Generators in a bid to see whether or not we could avert a so-called "matter shortage" by converting "waste" solar leptons into heavier baryonic nucleons. Though the energy requirements were immense, it is fortunate to state that the particle-energy ratios were well-within acceptable limits so as to minimize the costs of producing photon-derived matter, and thus we are wholly convinced that our star cluster will bear witness to the first photon-to-nucleon generator station in the next several years.

That's a pretty big question, Tyslus has dozens of research facilities in its frigid wastelands and they are working on many different things at once. I single facility could be making a better bread box and making an experimental death laser at the same time. Trying to catalogue every scientific breakthrough Tyslus has made, even recently, would be a real challenge for even the most dedicated bureaucrat.

Here's the ones off the top of our heads:

- A voice activated breadbox
- Recent improvements on cybernetic implants, specifically artificial tongues that can taste
- The 'Peacekeeper' Mk. 11 just entered the prototype stages of its development
- We've just made several anti-ballistic missile laser satellites and will be mass producing them in a decade or two
- We've developed a new neurotoxin capable of passing through most filtration systems for the Tyslus mercenary corps. And for militaries willing to buy it

Figured out how to make a bomb to destroy evil earth (check our motto).

Auzkhia wrote:discovery of the Higgs Boson or the God Particle
That's old hat (lots of tech based on direct manipulation of the Higgs field, including our earth destroying bomb), though it isn't actually called the god particle by physicists (it's actually more disproof of the idea of a god).

um, no. There's no association between the Higgs boson and the existence or nonexistence of God.
