Tribal People in your Nation

Postby Wangurri » Thu Aug 09, 2012 9:37 am

Do they have land rights? How many tribes are there? How does the rest of society treat them? How much of the population do they make up?

In Wangurri 96% of the population is Tribal. We have more than 500 different tribes. In our nation tribes can't really be discriminated , As most of our People are tribal.

No tribes anymore, we were once tribal in nature but the alliance of tribes evolved into a new identity and nationality, the Allemannian one.

Pretty much this. I'm amazingly tempted to make a nation inhabited by Native Americans just to say "They make up roughly 100% of the population, control roughly 100% of the land, and have full rights". Oh well.

Along the western border with the forsaken nation of Gdonia, we have tribals who live in small camps. While most are friendly to the Cylarnian people, there are a few renegade tribes who are waging a small guerrilla conflict. Thanks to the prowess of the Special Response Regiment, the renegades have been kept from attacking the larger towns and cities.

Zevassa is a splinter nation formed by multiple minority groups. This includes several native tribes.

Tribal life is hit or miss with Zevasi tribes; not all follow ancestral lifestyles. Many tribes have integrated into modern society and are now ethnic minorities, while others still follow traditional ways of life. Both Zevassa and surrounding Zembrill allow unrestricted passage across borders for tribal peoples living in the jungles. Approximately 3-7% of the Zevassi population is tribal, depending on season and weather factors such as drought or flood. There is a permanent, integrated, ethnic minority comprised of tribal peoples in Zevassa which makes up a combined 3% of the population.

Many Zevasi have tribal ancestry, but have been a part of contemporary society for several generations. Approximately 73% of the population has had a native ancestor within the past 5 generations. Of those, approximately 90% have been a part of modern/contemporary civilization for all 5 of those generations.

Increasing challenges from the environment and modern societal influences have contributed to the decline of the native tribes in the Zembrose regions.

Only one tribe that's recognized by the government. The Tribal Zebras. Their knowledge of herbs and the land make them respected members of the community they reside in. They are given shelters and homes but can opt out if they wish. Many of the very proficient herb doctors are given positions in medical laboratories so they can share some of their knowledge to Ulvenan medicine companies and the Sol-Luna Medicine Council.

Over 50 tribes inhabit Casanovak, mainly in the Zaei forest next to the capital. All together, tribal people make up approximately 23% of the total known population, however it is possible that the real figure is higher.

tribes no longer remain in this land. Most of the natives were killed and a small number integrated into the population. All though we have clans they can barely be called tribes since they are us.

Well, the Cetaceans, Sslurids, Serpens, and certain Saurians, Drakonians, Squamats, Crocodilians, Khalkans, etc. are tribal. They're largely left alone to their own devices in the wilderness, living much as their ancestors had for thousands of years. The only visitors being the occasional traveler heading their way.

There are nomadic peoples, including the Pechenek Nomads who live in the Carpathian Mountains and speak an archaic form of our language. In the same category, there are gypsies all over, but they wouldn't exactly be considered 'tribal.'

Pechenek nomads are revered for their adherence to the ancient ways of our former Turkic lords, but the gypsies are seen as a nuisance in most cases.

Our nation is esentially a union of tribes. We have 8 major tribes and several lesser tribes. Each major tribe has full jurisdiction of their own city-state and given a seat in the Nexus Council, which serves simply as a place for each tribal leader state their ideas or concerns about certain subjects that affect the whole nation, especially in times of war.

Our Buffalo population still practices a tribal culture. They're a very traditional people, even more so than ponies. Although they only make up a small percentage of Equestria's population, their tribal lands stretch across a large expanse of the San Palomino desert in our nation's southwest. There they migrate from place to place to place rather than living in fixed abodes. Generally, relations between Buffalo and ponies are good, except for times when ponies have encroached on Buffalo tribal land.

Some Zebras still live in tribes in the south however an overwhelming majority has adapted to the Herdite culture and lives next to the ponies in cities and villages. Many zebras are leading minds in medicine, or simply successful and respected doctors as they traditionally have an affinity for medicine as well as potion-making and other alchemy magic. Zebras make up roughly 2% of the Herd's population and tribal zebras are a tiny minority among them.

Diamond Dogs, large bipedal humanoid canines, once lived in underground tribal communities but their ways of enslaving ponies from the surface and forcing them to work in the underground mines have led to armed conflicts with the Herdite government. In the several Diamond Dog Wars that took their place over the course of 300 years nearly 40% of diamond dog population was wiped out and their primitive culture was all but destroyed, and today only a few rumoured underground slaver gangs may be considered 'tribes'. The rest of diamond dogs were civilized and have adapted to the Herdite society, living among ponies and other sapient species as equals even though a bit of social stigma against them still exists. Diamond Dogs make up 1,2% of the Herd's population and are often stereotyped as either dumb miners or greedy businessmen, though that is not without a kernel of truth and those occupations are quite popular among Diamond Dogs.

Our nation was originally a confederacy of tribes. The main one, which later founded Central University (our capital) was obsessed with science and managed to convince the other tribes (who had little to do beyond fight amongst themselves and scratch out a bleak existence) to adopt their technologies such as the wheel, farming, and other trappings of civilization. The rest is history, and the product is who we are today.

Zathganastan was formed from many different tribes that united to form the First republic of Zath or were brutally conquered during the coming ages.So this would make the whole of the native population a descant of some tribe or another. While as for privileges or treatments, other then being able to brag that your ancient tribe was better then another this has no affect on the modern Allied States government or it's people.
