Bajireyn wrote:Canada never really recovered from The Great War of 2077 and eventually was taken over by NATO,which had become its own national entity after the War. From what can be found about Pre-War Canada,it seemed like a decent place, until its annexation by the United States in 2060.

In our previous' universe's timeline, thanks to actually having somewhat sane economic policies, Canada was one of the few mixed economy ("socialist-capitolist") nations to survive the global economic collapse of 2024 - 2040. However, they chose to merge with our chief enemy, the United Socialist States of America, along with Mexico, uniting all of North America except the Central American Alliance, the Imperialist Republic of Texas, and the Capitolist Republic of North California. Still, we believe Canadian influence helped to prevent war between our nations.

Like with most countries close to the United Kingdom, Brazil viewed Canada with suspicion. In the 80s Canada became a popular destination for Brazilians who wanted to flee Brazil. Since emigration was illegal until recently and Canada rarely deported these traitorous immigrants, relations with Canada were severely affected. Nowadays, relations with Canada are friendly.

Canada is a dictatorship and we do not recognize them as a country. However we do recognize Québec as an independent nation.

Why it is a dictatorship?

In 1837 Québec's Patriotes sent 92 resolutions to London who said no to their resolutions. London sent the british army in Québec's villages and they killed or arrested all the Patriotes, raped their wives and burned their villages.

In 1867 Canada was created to assimilate the French canadians. Luckily they still haven't assimilated them.

In 1918 Canada sent their army to Québec City to counter protestations against the conscription. The orders were "SHOOT TO KILL". 4 were dead and many injured and arrested. It was then proven that Canada used explosive balls to shoot and kill the protesters in Québec City. During the World War 1, the only place where explosive balls were used was in Québec City. Donald Trump actually looks like a nice and caring leader compared to Canada.

In late sixties and 1970, apparently the Front de libération du Québec posed bombs to protest against the anglo-saxon oppressor. But in fact many of them attacks were false flag attacks by the RCMP. Then in october 1970 Trudeau sent the army to Québec to arrest thousands of innocent people just because they were separatists even if they had no ties to the FLQ.

In 1980 Trudeau promised changes if Québécois votes no to the referendum. The "changes" he made was a Coup d'État. In 1982, he bringed back the constitution which was never signed by Québec. Québec will never sign this shit.

During more than 200 years (since 1759) Québécois and French Canadians are constantly bashed and mocked by english Canada. Their life was miserable and they had to work either on their land or in a factory with racist English Canadian bosses telling them to "SPEAK WHITE".

By the way, Terre Septentrionale's flag is a modified version of the Patriotes flag.

The Commonwealth of Great Britain re-established relations with the Dominion of Canada on signing the Montreal Treaty in 1962, following a long period of tension and distrust between Britain and the former Empire caused by the Revolution. The two countries are now very friendly - Canada has consistently been polled as one of the most positively viewed countries by the British public, and there is a considerable amount of migration both to and from Canada.
Canadians as people are generally looked upon fondly in Britain, but their continued deference to the House of Windsor is found perplexing by many.

The specific Canadian state being referred to in this inquiry is a state recognized by TurtleShroom. There are many Canadian states, but this one is notable for being seen as psychotically leftist, without being Marxist. This specific Canadian state is referred to simply as "Canada" and is the principal nation called "Canada" of which TS is aware. TurtleShroom considers their human rights to be devoid of negative liberties and thus capable of revocation by the almighty state.

The Great Bountiful Empire and this Canada have neutral relations and no ill-will. The civilian populace is seen as emasculated, subdued, and dominated by sexual degeneracy and political correctness. The civilian populace is seen as a nation of disarmed sheep that are unwilling to do anything but advance Big Government and degeneracy. Their politicians are seen as enablers of degeneracy and are flooding themselves with populations from savage cultures.

The military of this Canada, though, is renowned because of its defining moments in assisting America's greatest campaigns. The USA in question happens to be the same Americalandese state from which TurtleShroom rescued countless CSA aristocrats (and their wealth) in the nineteenth century. TurtleShroom does not take Canada seriously on the international stage of Nationstates.

Canadian soldiers are seen as valiant warriors- among the best -but their nation's peacetime efforts, and their civilian populace, are seen as weak and effeminite.

Canada's our ally, and plus, they're more respectable than the US. (our US actively hates Hypercapital and Hypercapitalians and essentially mocks us all day on TV and whatnot. Essentially; we want to be taken seriously by the World but the major players don't take us seriously)

Canada is part of the NAU, so we have a good view of Canada, literally. And we love our northern provinces.
An alt-America that had a grand bargain struck with London in the 1760s and remained under the British Crown (Turtledove's "The Two Georges"), mixed with some of Sobel's "For Want of a Nail" and a lot of the anthology "Columbia and Britannia," the sci-fi NZ novel "Anno Domini 2000 or Woman's Destiny", and cameos of other alternate histories. “The Rock of the Britannic Commonwealth,” an alliance of Britannic and former colonies as partner-nations in personal union and/or in association.
