Re-ascent to God-hood (closed, SG)

Postby Inari Okami » Thu Oct 01, 2009 11:07 am

It had been over two thousand years since Inari was imprisoned and banished in her/his sarcophagus, a punishment for failing to overthrow the Goa'uld Goddess Amaratsu, with her/his starship fleets confiscated and the planets stargate buried and hidden. It had been 50 years since Amaratsu was killed by Lord Atum.

Since then, Goa'uld cults have run rampant, with insane Jaffa and humans shooting up juiced Prim'ta parts like heroin, posing as gods and using their former masters abandoned devices and palaces, with the Unas retreating into their tribes, mostly in the forested mountains and swamps, until Now.

Now, the real Inari Okami was out, had been out for 40 years, and had built up a following army of about 6,000 strong, not including servants and other personnel. The opponent Inari was about to face off with, was a false inari, evidenced by her dark brown skin and black dreadlocks; this poser woman was marked as a Jaffa.

All Jaffa on this world were African in heritage, while the humans were of Asian descent, and the Unas were....... Unas, and none of the races mixed blood very often, or else stillborns be the results.

Looking at the mothership on a hill, a che'ops pyramid ship with ha'tak-like frame-pylons, Inari felt a rush of exhilaration. A feeling of impending power, once more, as her army moved into position, forming ranks.

Also forming ranks in the fields down below, at the base of the mothership, was the false Inari's troops, numbering about 15,000, with blaster cannons being horse-drawn into position every 10 meters. Inari was going throneless for now, sitting astride the finest and largest pure white Clydesdale ever bred, since s/he planned to slaughter this impudent jaffa who dared to take upon herself the name of Inari Okami and implied godhood and take back her/his rightful throne by force.

The planet had no designation in the master records of Neith’s ship’s computer. It was unknown until recently.

The goa’uld Lord was one of those set of his kind who preferred to regularly switch their hosts’ genders. All goa’uld were parasitical on humans or humanoids, and thus had that ability, Neith, like his overlord Atum, had been known to do so in ancient times, inspiring myths of gods having male and female attributes. In this age of synthetic hosts, he had only two that he alternated between. Both were tall, muscular, with short blonde hair, and looked like brother and sister.

The blue eyes of the male form of Neith looked at the screen before him with interest. It had been a long and uneventful journey here from the forward bases of Atum, over a year, but it had been worth it. The ships they had expected to find were indeed present.

It was popularly believed that the ships’ mistress had been killed at the Battle of Ammut, when Atum had trapped his enemies’ main fleet in the gravitational pull of the great black hole near Mnewer. Neith did not give her the opportunity to surprise him, keeping his shields fully raised as he coasted toward the planet. The majority of the ships were in orbit, but one, a modified vessel had landed.

Thorough scans of the fleet in orbit revealed it was quite empty, parked here, so the rumour that had led him here said, by the survivors of Amaterasu’s fleet, who had then, being particularly devoted jaffa warriors, ritually killed themselves.

A valuable asset by any measure.

The ship that was landed, though, seemed to be an advanced prototype, and more interestingly, it appeared to have a battle taking place outside it.

Neith stood, reaching out to the controls of the imaging device, and set it to record events far below.
"While many races in the galaxy, like the Asgard and the Ancients, developed their own technology over many thousands of years, the Goa'uld achieved their current level of technological strength by beating up other races and stealing their toys."

As the Imposter's armylline advanced, Inari smiled as her own army remained at attention, displaying steely resolve and loyalty, even when the opposing army got within range of staff-weapons and started taking potshots, with most plasma fire missing.

Reaching out her hand at the last second, Inari gave the signal to fire, and almost as if s/he had direct mental control of the troops, the true Inari army took position in a staggered line, reminiscent of 17th century British redcoat troop formations, leveled and aimed their staff weapons, and dropped all of the first wave with only afew dozen warriors dead to show for it.

500 vs about 25 KIA was impressive for opening moves, and upon seeing this, the enemy general, Kazuki Takuma, whom Inari had on good word was honorable to a fault, took notice and watched.

Now that the enemy general was paying attention, Inari then gave another order; that athousand troops commit harakiri to to show their loyalty. Inari was looking at the general through a looking glass, and could visually zoom in to see his face as if they both stood at about 5 or 6 yards away from eachother.

Marching forward to within 50 meters of the enemy line, with their staffweapons held up as a sign not to fire, 1000 troops then kneeled on the ground, unsheathed their tanto, and slit their bellies open, spilling their endtrails on the battlefield.

Upon seeing this, General Kazuki's face went white, and Inari smiled evilly as he was visibly shaken. Giving the same order that Inari gave, Kazuki's troops just stood there in disbelief, with a kind of ~our goddess wants us to do what now?~ mood running through the ranks.

As it became evident to Inari that Kazuki had tried to pull the same show of loyalty that s/he had, and failed, Inari roared in laughter, which echoed down to the enemy basecamp, and infuriated Kazuki even more since his troops wouldn't obey him, instead abandoning their formations and running the other way.

Giggling in evil glee, Inari wrote a note, which s/he then sent a pair of Kitsune-helmeted jaffa off with....

“Activate the weapons,” Neith said.

“Armed, my lord,” Doran, the First Prime of Neith said, “On what do you wish to fire?”

“The retreating army.”

“Why, my la-lord?”

“Minimum firepower. I merely wish to ‘encourage’ them.”

“I see,” he said, looking at the screen. “Firing now.”
__ __ __

Fire rained from the skies as Neith decided to discourage either side from occupying the starship, hundreds of golden bolts of light falling like rain, exploding in small blasts that felled trees and smashed the ground into a roiling cloud of flying debris. It was possible to advance (or rather, retreat) through this unscathed, the fire-fall not terribly lethal, more a demonstration of power, each blast like that of a death-glider, It was more than the fire of a single ha’tak. Moments later, the orders were relayed to those, and the firepower more than doubled as their point-interception guns joined in, firing on their lowest settings, each bolt howling through the atmosphere.

The curtain of destruction enveloped the enemy army, blasting and destroying with impunity. Eventually, the fire ceased, and a pall of smoke rolled over the battlefield.
__ __ __

“Now, activate imaging system.”

Neith stood, and a light shone on him from above.
__ __ __

Neith appeared before Inari, a few feet away, a somewhat immaterial hologram, his arms crossed before him, “You are the commander of this force? I congratulate you on your… interesting… tactic. I am Neith. Emissary of Atum, Lord of all Goa'uld.”

Inari, still astride her especially large white warhorse, looked down at Nieth. 'I am Inari O'Kami, Mistress of this world, Edo'Ka, and former Sub-Empress to Amaterasu.' s/he said proudly, eyes briefly flaring to a glow and her voice resonating with arrogance. 'Now if you will excuse me, i have an uppity jaffa i need to break, and a throne to reclaim, after which i shall be more than satisfied to speak with you further.'

Inari had no idea who Lord Atum was, but chose not to show her position of ignorance.

In the enemies camps, troops were retreating in a most unprofessional fashion, and in a partially collapsed tent, Kazuki Takuma was prepping himself for Seppuku, when the messenger arrived and handed him the note. It read;

From; Inari Okami, True Goddess of Edo'Ka
To; Grand Daimyo, General Kazuki Takuma

It is not your fault that you were blinded by a false goddess, nor is it your fault that your troops are of such weak mettle. If you wish it so, you may serve me, and lead the finest troops ever trained, my troops, into battle, to achieve victory after victory.

Do you still dream of glory in battle and loyalty of service?

I must warn you though, such a position is not a field of cherry blossoms, for even when i leave battles to your judgment, you will need to break yourself, over and over again, to improve as both a warrior and a commander.

After reading the parchment note, Kazuki was in doubt, unsure of weather or not he should take the offer, or keep to his loyalty of his ebony goddess....

Neith smirked, “Very well, I shall permit it, simply because it amuses me to do so,” he said, with a thin smile, “but before you go, a slight reminder, that you are merely an uppity goa’uld whom I will have to break,” he said, crossing his hands before him and pressing a gemstone on the back of the glove-like device.

A bright white light, the transporter technology stolen from the asgard, modified generously, embraced Inari, and the environment around her disappeared.

The command bridge was dominated by a large throne, draped in shining jade-green silk, and flanked by hawk-headed jaffa warriors carrying strange, short rifles held at the ready before them, their feathered cloaks covering one arm on either side. Their red eyes staring at the individual their mistress had brought up. Against the side of the wall was even a group in crocodile-helms with buffalo-hide cloaks with traditional staff weapons.

Beside the throne sat a dusky-skinned young woman with ornately groomed dark brown hair dressed in a light blue dress made of the finest Amatashan Shimmer-weave, a translucent silk that shone like a tinted mirror when the light caught it. A band of what seemed to be brown leather enclosed Tamara Torhaven’s neck still, but now it was joined by elaborate necklaces and other jewelry, giving the impression of a much-doted upon Lo’tar.

As Inari materialized, the two jaffa behind Neith’s throne pointed their weapons at her chest, and Neith smiled. In a sudden movement, he slapped Inari across the cheek, the tips of his metal-gloved hand sending her head reeling to one side. The woman by the throne chuckled quietly in amusement.

Neith pressed the jewel on his weapon once more, transporting Inari back to the spot she had come from, and smiled in the still-evident hologram, “You may go about your business for now. But it will be for nothing if you do not bow before Atum, for your power and position will be taken from you as easily as the crocodile feasts upon a sacrificial goat.”

Humiliation complete, the hologram shimmered into nothingness.

Finding herself back on her horse, the inertia from the smack carried Inari right off the saddle, and s/he tumbled 8 feet down into the dirt while the horse nervously shifted to the side. Nearby, some servants had quite a time trying to decide weather or not to bust out laughing or to make a hasty exit, not wanting to be the object of Inari Okami's wrath.

All but 2 of those nearby beat it out of there, and of the 2 that remained, one was solemn-faced, as if nothing happened, the other was chuckling abit.

wrong thing to do.

In no time flat, Inari was upon the giggling fool with a hand ribbon, cooking his skull from the inside out in the span of 2 minutes, the corpse falling to the ground with blood flowing nicely out of every cranial orifice, with his eyes popped and melted. 'And what of your opinion on this?....' s/he asked the solemn one standing before her. 'Well, My Goddess, i saw you step down from your horse, and in my opinion, Zoku had it coming for the longest time.' the servant said, bowing at the waist in a deep 90-degree angle and holding there until Inari mounted her horse again and rode off.

After the demonstration of loyalty, and the rain of fire from orbit, The False Inari's troops were well panicked, and had pretty much been convinced that fighting Inari Okami was a bad idea. Inari Okami rode her steed right into the customized Ha'tak, admiring the spaciousness of the hallways, quite Cathedral-like, with red square-brick on the floor and white metallic walls with golden inlay and trim, and shallow long-stairs every 10 meters, also in brick.

Approaching the throne room, Inari dismounted and pushed open the large double-doors, finding dead Anubis-helmeted guards littered about, and blast-marks on the walls. In the center rear of the room was the pretender, still on the grandly ornate dragon- throne, flanked by 2 of Inari Okami's guards, their staff weapons pointed at the impostor.

'Rhi'cho shel're, saikoro kek .... mort-tomo Tota'an.' One of the guards spoke, his voice filtered and hollow, as he turned to look the impostor in the face, his helmets frill-crests flaring and the sallow coyote eyes glowed intensely as the Staff weapons head zapped open.....

Orbit

The Crocodile Guard of Sobek were rightly feared among the domains of Atum for their brutality. Two dozen stood around the large room being used as the default destination as the transporter, watching as one or two of the shol’va materialized, they shot them with zat’nik’tels and methodically stripped them, noting that for the most part they were not goa’uld, but jaffa. This in particular angered the crocodile guard, who like many jaffa, liked matters simple; goa’uld commanded, they obeyed, and commanded all others. Upstart jaffa inspired jealousy and religious revulsion in equal measure, and many were tempted, as they carted these traitors to the ship’s cells, to simply kill them. But they would suffer far more effective judgement from the servants of Atum, no doubt.

A small female materialized, and one of the Crocodile guard watched her crumple to the floor, as two more stepped forwards, removing her armour swiftly, discarding breastplates and greaves upon a growing pile of equipment and clothes taken off the various pretenders, and noting that this one was not jaffa, though nonetheless quite unusual. “Take this one to a separate cell,” the Crocodile guards’ leader said, as another pair returned from taking the last captive away, and they prepared for the next materialization.

Edo’ka

Once more, Inari disappeared, but this time, with more spectacle, as a booming voice from heaven spoke.

Your leaders have been taken to serve Atum, God of All Things! They shall be judged at his feet! As shall you, when they return.

Orbit

Eventually, with the task complete, Neith’s ship turned, leaving the planet’s orbit, with three of its escorts, leaving the other two in orbit to tend to the situation, leaving the planet under Sobek’s charge for the immediate future.

The 2 Inari Okami guards were left alone in the throne room, both their Empress and their prisoner had vanished in blinding white flashes, after which the booming voice from heaven thundered. So, they fetched more troops and continued to secure the mothership for their Empress' eventual return.

~ = - = ~

Waking up in a seven by seven foot cell, Inari felt a breeze, and a quick feel established that s/he was naked. Her eyes flicked open, glowing with rage, the last thing she remembered was being inches away from torturing her way to ascension of the throne she so rightly deserved.

Sitting up and looking about, Inari was met with nothing but hard gold walls. Not a scrap of cloth anywhere with which to cover herself. Looking down the hallway, she saw the right half of a helmeted guard, partially obscured by the wall of the hallway.

Still simmering with anger, s/he spoke with authority, her voice deep and bellowing. 'I'YAFFA KRII!'

~ = - = ~

Deep in the valley of a wildly forested mountain range, distant on the horizon from the field of battle concerning the landed mothership, word was beginning to spread that the Goa'Uld had returned, and what the Free Unas Clans would and/or could do about it....

Would they join the Goa'uld's armies as shock-infantry, as had been done in generations past, since time immemorial, or would they resist, and wage a guerrilla war to preserve their freedom....

Underway in hyperspace, cruising at seventy five kilolights

Coatac had been having an unpleasant day, he’d been passed over for promotion to squad leader, had missed breakfast and was now being annoyed by the denizen of one of the cells. A simple ‘shut up’ would probably have done, but misfortune, like water, flowed downwards. He pushed the buttons by the cell door, letting the door slide up into the ceiling. A moment later he jabbed Inari in the belly with the sparking tip of his staff weapon, producing a sharp burning sensation, before he spun it around to smack her to one side. As beatings went, it was far from the best, motivated by enthusiasm rather than scientific precision or calculated sadism, but then, simple enthusiasm was quite sufficient.

The butt of the staff weapon, however, was a solidly built implement for providing humans with a correctional beating that so often seemed necessary. Coatac considered easing up, but this woman was clearly a goa’uld, so he saw no point, and after all, beating one up was quite satisfying, it wasn’t so often anyone who wasn’t one of sokar’s minions got to take a goa’uld down a few notches.

He did however, avoid anything too damaging, leaving her face alone, for fear that if he knocked some teeth out, someone would notice; a goa’uld was liable to regenerate quite quickly, but they couldn’t regrow those.

Orbit of Edo’Ka

Sobek sat in the humid room he used for his audiences, watching the planet below thorugh one window, eventually, the jaffa he had sent to find a stargate should return. If they lived.
