Kerinstav landed in the courtyard of his ruined fortress den, the black smoke that was his calling card, came down with him and began gathering around the black dragon. For several minutes he just sat there, just thinking. What Had he just done?
kerinstav had just left Silas without killing the knight. He should have eaten the tin can, as his mother always said, "A knight makes up for 70 percent of the iron a dragon needs for continuous good health and growth!" But no he had not eaten the knight, he had set up an illusion (which the knight had fallen for) and then left him there alive and unharmed. That knight would propably carry on and alert the Guild to where Kerinstav lived. Had he just put himself on a death sentence?
The black dragon, shrugged, and slowly made his way back into the fortress and to his hoard. Sleep is what he need, when he awoke, he'd decide his next plan of action.
