There are some Crucilandians that are shaped like anthropomorphic insects, if that appeases you. You see, a good deal of us once belonged to the anthro community, and so many of us take on more than just human-like figures. However, ALL OF US are like insects in the sense that Cruciland is a giant wasp-hive. It's all controlled by the "queen," (or in this case Emperor) with fierce, like-minded inhabitants, (that can bend a tank in half with their minds) inside a sturdy nest. (the armored, turret-encrusted architecture of Cruciland)

So yes- some of us and all of us are insect-like.

being tropical Atlannia has a lot of insects, particularly mosquitos. They don't run the country or anything but they are regarded more fondly than in most places, historically, invading forces have suffered heavy losses from malaria courtesy of the little guys, the mosquitos is a popular sports team name here.

The Russian Empire includes a planet of insectoids. Well, technically arachnoids, but when you're talking giant bugs, who really counts the number of limbs? The Assyrians (their designation by the Russians, of course, not their native name,) are a race which vaguely resemble terrestrial praying mantises. Having never developed writing, their technological level was fairly low when the Russians encountered them, but they had made a fine tradition of the art of argument. Instead of writing plays, they performed arguments. Instead of poems, they recite debates. They drove the Russian ambassador mad in a week, resulting in the Russians forcibly occupying the planet. Even after their lawyers were all executed, they still debated the legal precedent for killing all the lawyers.
