Halcyon Arms started as a shipwright in the early days of Colonial Farland, which eventually became the nation known as Pharthan today. Pharthan rapidly became an economic center, and those companies which had been with it from the start flourished. Halcyon Shipwrights were commissioned with building the first dozen ships of the Pharthan Navy. With a few successful naval battles the company was endeared not only to the government but also the sailors, many of whom worked for the company upon their departure from the military, where there expertise was welcomed. They started a well honored tradition of hiring any veteran who had a little mechanical know-how or creativity alongside their operational experience to ensure that Halcyon Arms always produces not what is wanted by politicians, but needed by soldiers, and what changes to make to stay ahead of the enemy and save the lives of their compatriots.

As a private enterprise, Halcyon Arms has grown extensively since those early days, fielding numerous shipyards larger than many cities, factories on and below ground more extensive that some of the most complicated labyrinths, massive airfields, bomb ranges, sprawling nuclear power plants, and even having nearly-sole claim to several large islands where business is conducted.
