An Oceanic Warning to Luke Sakira IV (Closed)

Postby The Oceanic Empire » Sun Apr 15, 2012 2:27 pm

Supreme Admiral Talé sat in the Ebony Room of the Oceanican Admiralty. The news coming from the South was worrying, but it was not yet confirmed. If the arms smuggler was a rogue agent, lives would be lost for no reason. But the message from the South was clear: a Sakirian man, using Sakirian made arms, was helping a notorious anti-Oceanic terrorist group. If the Empire was to let this event pass, it would be a severe knock to their reputation. Talé made up his mind. "Wire a message to the Sakirians immediately, and have the Southern Fleet prepared in case things turn nasty."
"Yes sir."

On behalf of the people of the Oceanic Empire

Luke Sakira IV,

We of the Oceanic Empire have reason to believe that you have been assisting the terrorist groups in our southern territories. As ours are nations recovering from war, this is an unwise thing to do. You have been blatantly ignoring Oceanic interests of late, and your anti-Oceanic stance is becoming tiring. If you comtinue with this, we will be forced to use military force. Your rash actions in Admiralsburg cost the life of your operative, and almost cost the life of ours. How many more lives are you willing to risk?
However, let it not be said that the Oceanic do not grant forgiveness. Despite your heinous crimes committed against us, we have issued a set of demands. Should these demands be fulfilled, we will not authorise military action. Our demands are as follows:

1. You surrender all of your overseas possessions to the Oceanic Empire,

2. You cut your military size and expenditure to a tenth of their current amounts.

3. In return for the protection of the Oceanic, you will provide us with a tribute of resources twice a year.

4. In the event of the Oceanic Empire being at war, you shall allow us to utilise your military forces until said conflict has concluded.

5. You punish the people responsible for the decision to aid the Southern terrorist group.

6. That you, Luke Sakira IV, resign from office and install free and fair elections.

7. That you place the flag of the Oceanic Empire in the canton of your flag.

Should you fail to fulfill the demands, be assured that the response of the Empire will be swift and merciless.

Long live the Admiral.

Luke Sakira scanned the document that was hurried to him straight from communications. The list of demands had been wired to the capital while the Imperial flagship was on a return voyage from a peace summit in the far South. The demands were deemed unreasonable but were still sent through to the Lord Emperor. The Lord Emperor was disappointed about the loss of the smuggler but was not surprise. He summoned the communications officer and told him to wire a reply to the Oceanians. "We do not accept their demands." he said. The Officer left and the Lord Emperor tapped a button on his desk sending a map of the Region covered in black, Red or White areas. A small screen pops up and Governor Korence starts speaking rapidly. The Lord Emperor quickly silences him and orders him to prepare the troops for an attack by the Oceanians.

A machine bleeped, breaking the silence of the Ebony Room. An officer went to check the message, although all seated at the table knew the outcome. "They- they reject our demands." said the officer.
"Then we have no choice." said the Supreme Admiral. "We must go to war. Send a quick message to the Sakirians, and make sure the fleet is ready to sail."

On behalf of the people of the Oceanic Empire

Luke Sakira IV,
You have chosen to ignore the demands issued by the Oceanic Empire. This is a most unwise decision, although it is doubtful that you will live to regret your mistakes for long. The Supreme Admiralty of the Oceanic Empire hereby declares war on the nation of Luke Sakira IV.
Long Live the Admiral

A general spoke up. "Sir, do we have the air capacity to deal with the Sakirian Air Force?"
Talé cursed. The Southern Fleet had only one carrier. "Divert more anti aircraft forces from the garrison at Kols. But we still need more forces. Send something to Jedze III. We can invoke our alliance."
"Yes sir."

On behalf of the people of the Oceanic Empire

Jedze III,

It may be known to you that Sakirian terrorists have been operating in the southern territories of the Oceanic Empire. It has emerged that these terrorists were run and funded by Luke Sakira himself. The Oceanic Empire cannot allow such threats to our sovereignty to continue unchecked, and thus we must ask you for assistance in the coming battle - we need not remind you of the mutual defence clause of our alliance. In particular, the Empire is in need of air assistance, which we know you can provide.

Long Live the Admiral

Talé sat silently as the missive was sent. It was imperative that Jedze III would come to aid the Oceanic. If they were to lose this battle, it would show how weak thus were, inciting countless rebellions. Still, Talé had every confidence in his troops. He was sending his most trusted Admiral, and he knew his men would fight until death.

Jedze III, after recieveing the message sent to him and after speaking with the Collective ordered a message to be sent.
Admiral Talé and the Grand Admiralty
The Xyknol Collective have agreed that though we have been allies with Luke Sakira Iv he has fallen off the true path and into darkness,
Hereby we rule a state of war with said nation, all we wish is to have access to the civilians of his nation, though this can be discussed further before any attack will take place.
You have our air support, as well as any other means of support you require for this operation, and with the Father of Omega's blessing we cannot and shall not fail.
Omega is with us, these ideals shall guide us to do right in this conflict, along with having the ability to see clear the best stratergy for this attack.

Jedze III, Father of Omega, son of Jedze II and leader of the Erernal Lands

Jedze III, after sending this, walks out into the Hall of Speeches and gives a grand speech to his Empire on the matter of the return of the Father of Omega after being 'dead'. The war shall benefit the Eternal Lands in more ways than one and allows Jedze III to command once more.

It was a grey morning in Admiralsburg when the Southern Fleet set sail. The city had an air of melancholy, but it was tinged with hope. The soldiers would return as conquering heroes. The great battleships of the Oceanic left their harbours, and soon the people waving on the shore were shrouded in mist. Admiral Tzopviv was in charge of the fleet. A veteran of the last Oceanic civil war, Tzopviv had remained loyal to the reigning Admiral, and had held the city of Kols against a huge rebel attack. For his loyalty and military effectiveness, he was rewarded with a high rank and the position of one of the new Supreme Admiral's most trusted lieutenants. He was a typical Oceanic military leader; a fierce soldier who commanded respect from his men and would die fighting if necessary. The main Southern Fleet combined with some of the Kolse anti-air forces, and continued on its way. The plan was simple - they would join up with Jedze III's navy, and launch an assault on the main Sakirian islands.

The Day of the Assault

The Aircraft carrier sets out with it's protection across the Eternal Sea towards the Oceanic fleet. In the bridge Jedze III, OADSAI and two members of the Xyknol Collective, one Jedze III's brothers and sisters, stand surveying the men and machines hard at work to make this assault grand. There is movement all over the ship as soldiers and spikers are preped for battle and the holding cells on the large carrier are readied for passengers. The course was set and now all there was to do for the leaders was to decide on their attack pattern upon there meeting with the Oceanic Fleet. Jedze III flet pleased with the developments his Empire had made for them to be called upon by an ally for war, this suited the Father of Omega well.
As the Oceanic fleet neared sight a message was sent to the leader of the other fleet, who's name was unkown to the leaders of the assault on the Eternal Land's part. The message read:
Greetings most esteemed leader of the Oceanic Fleet,

We wish to say that it will be an honour to slay the Sakirians by your side, may our aim be true and our victory swift, with many spoils of war to be gained as we are victorious on this field.
The Father of Omega is with us as are the blessings of the Ancestors, this shall be a grand day for both our nations.
OADSAI, the Son of Omega

On the bridge of his flagship, the OIS Sekla, Admiral Tzopviv watched the Eternal Lands' Fleet approach. Tzopviv harboured a dislike for the nation of Jedze III. He was not a superstitious man, but the old Oceanic stories were so abundant, and so grotesque, that even he had to wonder if there was not a grain of truth in them. Not much was known about those secretive lands. The Admirals of the Oceanic rarely dared to expand their territories westward. Once it was tried by an ambitious Tjerian, who led an expedition. Only a few returned; their hair had turned white with fear and their eyes were hollow, staring and mad. Most died within a few weeks of their return. One unlucky man survived, and lived the rest of his life an agonised, screaming shell.

What happened on that expedition may never be known. Tzopviv wasn't sure he wanted to know. But that was not the only reason he feared the Eternal Lands. In the Civil War, he fought in the South of the Empire, at Kols, where the fighting was fiercest. He had seen Jedze's intervention, the armies pillaging the already poor southern territories. And although he had not been there, he saw the ruins of Helia, a city utterly destroyed by the Eternal Lands' bombing. He was annoyed that they hadn't already discussed tactics before leaving; the insectoid Xyknol who led the country made him shudder, and he wasn't looking forward to meeting them again. He stood and watched the two fleets combine as the message came in. Tzopviv quickly skimmed the message, and sent back an outline of his strategy.

Governor Korence hastily awaited the return of the Lord Emperor. He was planning to form a militia but wouldn't dare do anything without the Lord Emperor's approval. He had planned everything down to the second and all he needed is for the Spotters to scan Oceanic attackers. He had every carrier stocked with it's full load of 15 fighters or 7 bombers, 3 carriers in all, and all the turrets had been put on motion activated fire. A curfew for all non-military personnel set at 10 o'clock and the punishment for all crimes was immediate enrolment in the military. So far Governor Korence had raised a 1million man army and forced recruitment has not been used thus far.

On the bridge of the Aircraft carrier OADSAI recieves a transmission from the commander of the Spiker soldier scheme.
"Jedze III, Father of Omega, I have recieved a transmission from a member of the Xyknol Collective, Commandant Krovegk of the newly conquered territiories and outer lying lands. He states that: *the recording plays* OADSAI, Son of Omega please relay this message to Emperor Jedze III, the Father of Omega. I am informing that reinforcements can be provided owing to the new army of Spikers being completed, they shall be airlifted to you as fast as can be done. They shall also be accompanied by more human reinforcments that have been pulled out of certain missions they were set to complete. I hope this information is of great value to you, Father of Omega"
Jedze III then told the other representitives of the Xyknol Collective of this information, the sound that was heard was a series of clicking and low moans. Jedze III then waved a hand at OADSAI, who then went back to pursueing his tasks on the ship. Jedze III felt that these reinforcements would be of great value in the battle to complete objectives set by The Oceanic, and, more importantly: The Collective.

With the Eternal Lands' reinforcements en route, the Oceanic forces carried on toward the main island of Luke Sakira IV. All too soon for some soldiers it came into view; sitting on the horizon like a float. As the island (and the battle) came closer, last minute preparations were put into effect. Men said prayers as sailors checked and reloaded the naval guns. Marines waited in transport boats. Aircraft prepared for take off on the flight deck of the carrier. On the bridge of the OIS Sekla, Tzopviv looked through binoculars at the island. He expected strong defences from the Sakirians, and he was fairly sure that this was the case. The fleet was ready for the attack. The naval transports used to land the marines were in the middle, cushioned from attack by the main battleships. Aircraft carriers had never really caught on in the Oceanic navy, despite the best efforts of many, more forward thinking Admirals, and so the one the Southern Fleet was equipped with was relatively new. The Kolse anti-air ships were dotted around to provide a solid defence. Tzopviv expected an attack by the Sakirian navy, and so he stopped and waited, with one ship firing a warning shot at the shore. As was traditional, a message was sent out to the Sakirians, asking them to surrender.

Governor Korrence whispered a silent prayer that the recently developed Quarriers would not attack the citizens. His hand wavered for a second too long over the button to release them that when he did it was his final act. A small screen popped up in the corner of the holomap, it bared the logo of project network (a design system that includes the programming of holographic AI to be almost human-like and to live in tandem with humans without the humans noticing they were holograms), this angered The Lord Emperor and he fired a small plasma pistol that he had concealed inside his Imperial Battle robes, the governor's body was cleared away before it hit the floor.
The Quarriers were on their way to the main defence positions, but not against the Oceanic, The Lord Emperor had decided to settle a conflict that was already in full swing before the Oceanic threatened the boarder.
The Lord Emperor was stationed on his flag-ship and was one of two Sakirian Air Cruisers. The Oceanic were in sight and The Lord Emperor silently cursed at his own decision to settle the dispute. This error meant that reinforcements were unlikely and that defeat was easier to achieve.

Tzopviv watched through his binoculars as the Sakirian Fleet approached. Warning signals rang out over the Oceanic attack force, as anyone who was not yet ready for battle made suer that they were, and quickly. Loading the men into the actual landing transports would have to wait; the three carriers would have to be a priority. Tzopviv did not feel any battle rage, despite stereotypes of the Oceanic. He felt quite calm, and issued a warning to his troops. He could see over on the flight deck of his aircraft carrier that fighters were being readied for take off to intercept the attacking Sakirians. Guns were aligned; the fleet moved into a defensive position, protecting the transports. Tzopviv wanted Sakira to make the first move.

The bridge is a flurry of life, communications between the three aircraft carriers are increasing, soldiers go to their transports to prepare for the invasion, they are ready for any outcome, whether they die or live is immaterial, they simply wish to serve the ideals of Omega.
ODSAI turned to the members of the Xyknol Collective, "The Sakiran fleet is in position, as is our own. The carriers are prepared to deploy the airships. On your command we shall proceed with operations."
The Xyknol exchange a few words in their strange lanuage before Jedze III sends out a message to Admiral Tzopiv.
"Admiral, as you can see the Sakirians are preparing to stand against the dual might of our militaries. If your navy attacks his, I can send my transports over and disable their AA guns allowing me to attack his main force allowing you to do oyur mission. All you must do is, in essence, cause a distraction."
"The Father of Omega, Jedze III"
It was then brought to his attention that the soldiers were on standby, the SPikers were ready and the first assault teams were prepared; they were the ones that would disable the enemy's AA guns and allow the glory of the Eternal Land's military to rain down in a fire of rightousness and burn their enemy. It was with these men that the lives of thousands rest on, they have been trained for years to be the best, and that is what they have become. Jedze III knew this, and entrusted these men with a very important task.
Now all to do was to wait for the Oceanic's response.
