This could seriously weaken the nation, though complete assimilation into a foreign culture is not expected. Finally, as war time may impose several restrictions on the populace, the citizenry would resent having their freedoms trampled, resulting in some dissent. In addition, nationalism during a time of crisis can not be underestimated. Mot people love their country, and would not enjoy seeing it in a losing conflict. Hard line political figures may take advantage of the peoples desire for supremacy, leading towards a more militaristic and autocratic government in the future.

Finally, conspiracy minded individuals may predict that the nation will eventually lose its autonomy and be absorbed into the One World Government, the obvious goal of the "World Assembly"
