The difference between your civil and state flag

Postby Hippostania » Mon Mar 19, 2012 7:29 am

As you probably know or don't know, most countries have two official national flags; civil flag is flown by civilians on non-government installations or craft, and the state flag that is used by the government or its agencies. So, what is the difference between your nation's civil and state flag?

In Hippostania, the civil flag is a tricolor of blue, white and orange with the emblem of Hippostania in the center
Image

Meanwhile, the state flag is the same tricolor as above, but with the seal replaced with the coat of arms

The Civil flag has a black background, and a red hourglass taking up the middle, like a red ring around it.

The civil and state flags are the same - black lambda and red hyphen creating a capital A inside a red ring on white background.

the Kandonian State flag is

the civil flag... well Kandona has two civil flags, one at sea, and one on land.

at sea:

on land:

The civil flag for the land had been the old national flag, last year. It was changed to being just the civil flag when the Kandonian Military petitioned for a new national flag, adding the war flag on a dark red background.

The Koy People's Democratic Republic utilizes the same flag for State and Civil use. However it is not uncommon to see both the flag of the KPSRP, the Flag of the Koy People's Army, the Standard of Ohanka John and the State flag all flying together, infact most government buildings fly all but the flag of the Koy People's Army, which is usually only flown at military bases or draped as a Banner flag for Propaganda reasons.

The SPF does not distinguish between Civil and State, the last Shrill Government to make such a distinction was the Empire.

After the Revolution, the republican government decreed that the same flag shall be used for both civil and state purposes.

Our civil flag does not have the Arabic script. The script meaning "Equality" on the left and "Socialism" on the right are replaced by how the user's language say them.
For example, in Chinese rallies the flag has "平等" "社会" on the sides of the cogwheel star.
Other than Arabic and Persian, "Socialism" is actually and always written as "society" in other languages. Mainly because, well, Socialism has a few more letters.....

The difference between your civil and state flag

Postby Parhe » Mon Nov 24, 2014 2:20 pm

My state flag is what you see. The civil flag is two horizontal bands of equal size, the one on top yellow, the one on bottom a onyx black. So similar to an upside down Habsburg flag.

Our civil flag is just a blue, white, and red triband without the cannabis leaf. So basically the flag of France. Our state flag is the one you are looking at.
