Wanted to throw this idea out there for some feedback before I get drafting, and also to see if something too similar has already been done:

The basis of the issue revolves around a city being attacked by a giant creature that is the last of its species. Options will include killing it, trying to capture it and put it in a zoo(depending on zoo policy), or capturing and researching it on rumors it can cure a deadly disease(or something of that sort). Still need to work on another option or 2.

Just a very rough idea in my mind right now, so like I said, just wanted to get feedback before I full on draft, and I am not sure if its been done already.

I'm concerned what a 'giant creature' might be? Is there anything in real life about this sort of thing?

I don’t think a godzilla-style monster would work well, but if some rare species of bear/lion/large predator attacked people it could work.

This doesn't seem like something that comes up much in actual discussions of endagered species conservation. For one thing, if there is only one member of a species left, then it is already functionally extinct, since you need two to reproduce (and considerably more to reproduce without massive genetic bottleneck from inbreeding). For another thing, if a species is so rare that there's only a few of them left, it's unlikely that those few will just happen to be living near cities (not exactly a very attractive environment for most wildlife) and attacking people. Somewhat more likely than attacking people in a city is attacking livestock in a rural farming village, which is an actual issue sometimes, though we've already had at least one draft on the subject (this one is explicitly about endangered species, while this one is tangentially-relevant).

Worth noting Ransium's draft was published as #1298, so duplicating that is definitely a no-go.

Mine that you linked is not published. It's just a draft that's floating around.

So change from giant creature to probably a rare species of bear that is rampaging in a city and add an option for cloning the bear to help revive the species. I get the concern that it isn't probable the last of a species would be roaming a city, but I think there is a certain suspension of disbelief when handling most issues anyway.

Is there an issue involving alphabets? I'm thinking of doing an issue where a linguistic minority uses a different script and are calling for another script to be official.
News for February 2088:
International News: Total Human population on Mars exceeds 25,000. | Debate on Chinese sanctions held off as global economy threatens major recession | World Cup 2088 starts in Perth, Australia

Local News: Vote on Dutch language is passed by 56 seats to 38 (with 6 abstaining); Dutch made an official language | Leader of the Opposition, Erik Nillson calls for a snap election after approval rates for President drops below 40%

The Rundown: The Saami Commonwealth is a nation located in Northern Scandinavia that declared independence in 2052. Factbooks are factual, most NationStates statistics are not

Accidentaly banned gambling and legalised corporal punishment.

We have an issue about recognition of minority languages (#71), and it just seems like common sense that supporting a minority language would also entail supporting the alphabet that language is written with, assuming it's different from your main language.

#996 is about adopting a foreign script for writing your own national language. Honestly I don't think it's a very believable issue for most nations, since such reforms aren't that common in real life and when they do happen are not driven by a backwater like Maxtopia is generally portrayed as, but the point is it's there.

Does an issue centered around the possibility of abolishing money sound like a doable proposal?

Not really, sorry. The game engine assumes the existence of money in many of the game stats, and there's no way to change that.

I know an issue featuring runway length has been submitted two years ago (don't know if it's in the works of becoming a real issue). Is it against the rules for me to do a draft of that premise even though it has been submitted?

If it's not published, you can still submit your own.

Since not all submissions are accepted, and players have no way to see everything that is submitted, it isn't practical to prevent duplication in unpublished drafts. If we discover that we have two unpublished drafts about the same subject, an editor will choose which one they like more.

Is there also an issue about climate protestors? I heard in recent news that Extinction Rebellion has been deemed a terrorist group, so in this day and age, maybe an issue that deals with climate protestors would be a good one.

Got a lot of ideas that I'm working on in the background... and a couple questions to ascertain whether ideas are worth pursuing or not:
  1. Are there any issues that cater specifically to nations with high Political Apathy?
  2. Is it OK to assume that the age of consent for anal sex is higher than other sex, especially in nations that have only just legalised homosexuality? This might make a good (adult) issue.
  3. How do the No Sex/Vat-Produced Infants policies work, and is there space for an additional policy of optionality? (so citizens can get kids from the vat, but they can still make their own)
  4. Are there any issues surrounding AI Citizens driving cars (especially in nations that don't have self-driving cars), or is it pointless given that self-driving cars is already an issue topic?
Thanks!

There are current issues that deal with self-driving cars. If you have an idea for a different angle in that topic, feel free to suggest it.

Are there any issues dealing with the language used by students in relation to so-called 'correct English'? I've definitely got great ideas for the result text.

As a kid I had an idea known as "Bathroom Expenses", where people were taxed a certain amount for the amount of #1 or #2 they deposited into the toilet. Is there some way this could be worked into a new issue (perhaps in a modified form, where it only applies to unflushed material and/or to public bathrooms)?

I do know some places have public restrooms that you need to pay for it, although the concept of poop taxation is something I have never heard of.
