Idea for a RP war...(OOC)

I was bored, and the idea just came right to me. The basic idea is that this takes place during the last parts of a fictional World War 3. One nation(this should be a particular large and powerful one.) recently became corrupt, and its new leader had a hunger for power and conquest. The larger nation invaded nearby smaller ones, but its forces were fought back after many bloody battles. The smaller nations now band together to launch a counter attack and hopefully defeat the more powerful one.

The RP will take place during the counter attack. If people like this idea, we can expand upon it.

Doesn't sound bad. That is kinda how my nation was "born": through an epic second American Civil War against an out-of-control socialist government. If this goes through, consider me in.

I can't make a map, but for someone who can, I think it should take place in a coastal area. The powerful invader's nation sits on the coast of a sea or ocean, and the Allied counter attack starts with the takeover of an archipelago north of the nation, followed by an attack of the mainland.

Well, I'm interested. According to what you've said, I guess I could fit the picture. I have a decently sized army, but not so big that you'd be crushed in two seconds. Hmmm... a flaw? Well, if you managed to get past my quite large navy (most nations my size have a smaller one) and also defeat my air force, my actual army isn't much to brag about, although my marines are quite good (and are my special forces, they are quite good). So what do you say, should I be the nation.

actually, that's not a "rule". It's commonly accepted that in a democratic nation on NS, you can have up to 1-2% of pop (depending on who you ask). If your commie or other dictatorship, it may be even 5%, although they will likely not be as good.

And btw, if you did use .1%,you'd have somewhere in the region of 250,000. I use a little over 1.5. I haven't made increases for a little while, and I'm not planning to do so until I hit 2 billion pop.

Past that stuff is a little bit more of the "deadlands", which are impossible to move tons of men through without massive deaths. Then there's a small strip of fertile coast, where the Kjeldoran Mercenary Corporation is. They wouldn't take to kindly to using their land, seeing as we're their biggest customer, and we supply them with all of their food and infrastructure. We have a large naval force there as well. Past the "Great Forest" is... more forest until you hit the coast. So the only large place open to amphibious assault is my actual nation's coast.

I will join. Since I am as MOST people would say a democratic nation, I am going to use the .5 rule.

Also, we should have names for the sides:
Big Country: Core Powers
Small countries: Allied Powers

BTW, since as you said, I've lost some men, I'll say that I have the same amount of men I do, except that only 14 mil. will be "regulars". The rest will be conscripts.

Non-canon, yeah? In the not-necessarily-to-far-off future, right? Well I'll give it a crack. I could be the invader nation if you wanted. I should have the size, its non-canon so I'll rp as a state where the army has 'emergency powers' to fight WWIII against the threats perceived by whatever parnoid general I put charge. That mean I could probably get away with calling 'total mobilisation' and saying 5% of the pop. My troops will be low on morale- a little war weary, a little uncertain of whether this is a war they should be fighting, not particularly enamoured of the regime. And at least some troops will be stationed as garrisons to hold down the newly conquered areas and to stave of civil unrest at home. (At a 5% military they won't be thrilled at the consumer market, or lack of it.)

i really wanna say 10% (7.5 mil) or more because of the mandatory but would go with 1% (750k)

Is there a way you can work around the island, as this is non-canon? It would make more sense if you're bordering at least some of the Allied countries.
