Lord's Shield Matches Preseason.
-As is tradition, the Lord's Shield which was famously lost to Desertia last season played three preseason challenge games.
-Desertia being a Division II side were required to play one Division III side, typically taken on tour, and two Division I sides played at home.
-Desertia took the shield on tour to Division III, heading to Meshkete for the first time.
Lord's Shield Match 1
Meshkete 14–13 Desertia
-Shield lost to Meshkete.
Lord's Shield Match 2
Meshkete 0–16 Martindale
-Shield lost to Martindale.
Lord's Shield Match 3
Martindale 10–13 Plainshire
-Shield lost to Plainshire.
Review:
If you thought the Lord's Shield matches got weird last year, then this year it was even weirder.
Desertia, who took the Shield late last year despite being in Division 2 decided to head to Division 3 Meshkete to put the Shield on the line whilst on tour to the island.
Stunningly Meshkete put up a huge performance and manage to come away 14-13 victors to win the Shield for the very first time.
Meshkete then straight away lost the Shield at home to Division 1 side Martindale 16-0, and normality was restored.
Martindale fought hard to keep the Shield in the final preseason match against Plainshire, but fell just short, losing 13-10 to give Plainshire the Shield.
The Shield will remain in Division 1 this season.

Three weeks in and the Shield has already changed hands.
Catsore Bay retain the Shield after winning it off Plainshire in Week One.
Riverside City and Catsore Bay looking good, Frbiba not far off the pace but patchy.
Plainshire look as bad as ever, losing the Shield and winless.

Midlands leading the way, being the only perfect team 3 wins from 3 games.
Cluster of teams in the hunt, but Desertia the only team with decent PD.
Bensville and Southland looking particularly poor. Bensville 0-3 with just 5 games to play.

As is always the case with Division 3, the draw goes haywire.
Devoncert already having had their two bye weeks, remain winless but only one game to show for.
Ja'mah and Meshkete looking strong. Easton appear dead in the water.

Catsore Bay fell on the road to Mayfield, closing the gap between the top sides but retaining the side.
Jagoza good at closing out low scoring games to be within striking distance at 4-2.
Frbiba close to faling out of the race but have impressive differential.
Plainshire improving but just fall short of Jagoza. Able to move to 5th next week.

Midlands have just about put a hand on the trophy and promotion up by two games with two to go and a huge PD, not even including their head to head victory over Desertia.
Desertia and Kovalchuk closing in on Midlands but need a few huge results to go their way in order to take the title.
Southland still unable to win a game, racing with West End to avoid relegation.
