I tend to cycle through a few: mainly playing video games and reading, occasionally playing Magic (id quit this a while back, then got sucked back in in college when it turned out that most of my friends played). For a few weeks Ill be really into reading, then ill get sick of that and start on the video games, then thatll get boring etc...

when the weather is nice, i enjoy a walk or a hike (its not hiking if its paved!)

I've got three main things I occupy myself with:

-Feeding my Battlefield addiction. Believe me, not having BF3 is killing me.

-Miniature wargaming. I am hooked on a WWII naval game right now, pushing toy boats around a sheet of paper, chucking dice, and yelling at other nerds; it's great stuff!

-Ham radio. I get to fail at building my own radio gear like Morse Code transmitters and specialized shortwave receivers, smoke 24 AA batteries in half an hour, talk with a bunch of 60 year old men, and waste any spare money I may earn in PCB kits and parts orders.

Reading, sketching, playing the violin, playing video games and hockey.

These are all usually overshadowed by going pubbing, of course.

most things that involve making or exploring, rather then collecting, having to do with trains (anything that runs on a guideway, opperates in multiple, and carries passengers, or two out of those three), forests, forested mountains, alternative (read noncombustion other then nuclear) energy, little furry creatures, and people looking like little furry creatures, and combinations of the whole lot. first love was trains. saw my first opperating model railroad when i was less then a year old, and that was in 1949. so i make pictures of them in 3d on the computer now, and build actual physical models in a number of scales, primarily oriented toward narrow gauge, but not historical narrow gauge so much as relatively modern, as in the past couple of decades, and well into the future.

furry people ridding solar powered narrow gauge trains, through forested mountains. there you go.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

My favorite:

1) Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art style. I go to class for an hour or two three or four times a week. It's less of a hobby, more of a life! This has led to the ancillary hobby of teaching myself Portuguese (with mixed results: Brazilians use a lot of slang they don't teach you in the self-directed courses, but I'm in no hurry.)

2) Reading. I tend to read in fits of literary fury. I might burn through four or five hundred pages, or a whole trilogy, over a week and then put it all down the next.

3) Playing guitar. I'm no shredder, but I can noodle around with three- and four-chord folk progressions.

Drinking with friends, the odd trip to the gun range (I like skeet shooting. I suck at it, but I like it.) and, lately, metal work. I'm a sheet-metal worker by trade; just recently finished my apprenticeship and so have some more free time to explore my own artistic aspirations. I'm looking to do some mixed-material wrought-iron and copper sculpture, but first I need to get off my duff and get my forge assembled...Kind of procrastinating on that till after the Holidays...

Not a big fan of the TV, but Arrested Development cracks me up. I used to be more of a gamer, but kind of just lost interest in it and any claim to the title; my old-skool XBox has languished unused for over a year. I do like getting friends drunk and playing Wii fit with them...for teh lulz.
