The Manifested Drekamythian Empire
of
Imperius

A Historical Factbook Presented to the World by Artemis Agamemnon

Foreword

I, Artemis Agamemnon, do write these words to the world with knowledge that all who shall pass by them shall know the true secrets of my beloved Realm. These secrets, while knowing that some shall remain such, must be told. The consequences of not doing so would be disastrous to the very foundations of the Manifested Drekamythian Empire. So do not blame me, oh good folk who read these words, for I write them with consideration of my people and not with the intent to deliberately reveal secrets or harm them in any way. I would be a fool to undertake such an action. Merely I follow one of the prime commandments of the Drekamythian Order of Melkos which states, in such simple and beautiful words that I shall shorten here, that all information is free to those who seek it. In other words, no matter how much anyone tries to maintain a secret, it shall always be found in some form or another. Therefore, these words that I do write are the culminations of the readers of these words seek and, eventually, finding them. For all information, even that which is among the Gods, must eventually be made known even to us mortals.

Manifested Drekamythian Empire
History of Imperius

"In the Beginning was Mortals, and the Dark Lord resided with them, among them, one of them. For in these times did the first desires of Darkness seep into our Dark God's heart..."
-Transcript from the Holy Necronomicon of Melkos

Pre-Empire

Every Empire, no matter the inclination of governance, emerges from a period of Darkness. It was no different for Imperius. The history of my Great Empire can be traced back to the before times, when the Barbarian King of Greater Anagonia resided after the first victory against our Dark Lord and God, Melkos Unchanos. In those times men were helpless but to follow a great and powerful leader. So to was it true for now, in these passing days of the present, whence Imperius raised from the ashes of an old order. It was not turbulent nor violent. Blood was not spilled in the name of any deity's nor by the orders of any man or group of men. It was simply, most assuredly, an Exodus that sparked the creation of the Manifested Drekamytian Empire.

In the years prior to the Exodus, I, Artemis Agamemnon, was a loyal citizen of Anagonia residing within the State of Imperius. My daily duties were filled with ritual and tradition as I held one of the most prestigious positions in all of the Imperial Drekamythian Church. When I preached from the Holy Necronomicon my interpretation of the words of His Holy Darkness, millions tuned in and received many blessings and were filled with encouragement. I was content, happy and very much satisfied with the general happiness of Melkos' followers around me. I did not hunger, I did not want, I did not lust nor did I search for more power. When others needed these things, I freely gave them. For when others desired these things, I was more than happy to comply.

Yet one night, I had a dream that changed all that. In this dream I dreamt that Melkos Unchanos came before me, showing me great things of my life before and to then what was the present. He spoke of great things for my future, showing me the faces of all whom I helped with my words and revealing to me secrets within his Holy Necronomicon that not even the Grand Priests of the Imperial Drekamythian Church knew. Then, he showed me seven specific faces of people who I should meet. It was then that I woke up. For then, I went forth in the morning hours of the next day to do as my Dark God commanded. Lo and Behold, I found these seven people, and then discovered they had dreamed the very same dream but with different faces. Then they went, seven more people, with the same dream. The count continued, all by Seven, which is holy unto our Dark God's eyes.

For in the end of this amazing episode of events, seven million people had all dreamed the same dream as I!

News reports all across Anagonia were talking to many of these people. Some discarded it as an extreme example of Mass Hysteria. Others of different faiths told our followers that they may have been tricked. Yet the blow that dealt myself and my followers, whom are now my loyal citizens, the worst was from the Imperial Drekamythian Church itself. They came forward, stripped me of my privileges and rights, proclaimed me a Warlock (which translates to "Traitor/Deceiver" in our understanding) of the highest dishonor and informed my followers to repent for their delusions. This was when the time of Great Division happened within the Imperial Drekamythian Church. It was a full week of pain and suffering, the likes of which tried not only my faith, but my followers as well.

During this week, which I now understand to be the pains of birthing of our Glorious Empire, my followers were hounded from all sides. Their jobs and livelihood's were threatened and, in some cases, taken away. They were called names, termed to be insane individuals following a madman on a quest to doom. At the time none of us understood why so much suffering happened around us. Slowly most, if not all of us had by the end of that painful week lost everything. Slowly we had gathered together in fields and around churches that were sympathetic to our plight, trickling closer and closer to one another. So it was that I managed to speak unto the airwaves again, thanks to a sympathetic Priest of another religion, and call unto my followers to come and meet any way possible at the Port City of Impa in the State of Imperius. For when we all met up, after one last day of travel, it was Sunday. The final day of the week. Proclaimed to be holy by some, to us it was the rebirth of our faith.

On this Sunday I stood before my followers and preached encouragement unto them. I told them of the troubles I had endured and, as I looked across the sea of people as far as the eye could see, spread the word that all should understand we were one in this trouble together. It was then that the miracle happened. To our weary eyes, those there and those still trickling in from regions far in Anagonia, we laid eyes upon the flag of the Imperial Drekamythian Empire. Out in the port was a fleet of ships, some transport and some military, all escorted by the Anagonian Navy, that they may come get my followers and myself to escape the horrors of our homeland that had so easily turned against us. So it was that with the help of these ships, this ancient empire once dead now revived, did all seven million of us find a new land to call home, gifted to us by our brothers and sisters from the true Drekamythian Church.

Creation

The creation of the Manifested Drekamythian Empire was something of mistake, if I may be so honest as to reveal. The day we seven million had been transplanted to our new home, we originally intended to be loyal citizens under my Father, Lord Emperor Havok Agamemnon of the Imperial Drekamythian Empire. His benevolence upon the plight of my followers and myself was the origin of the fleet of rescue ships which had brought us to safety. When he had arrived in our new landing, he brought with him a massive fleet with supplies and provisions for all of us to share and start out with. He then informed us of a shocking revelation (myself being the most shocked!). He, too, had the Great Dream. In his dream, he was instructed to wait one week from the day of his dream and then arrive on the shores of Impa with a fleet of transport ships.

Yet the revelation didn't end there.

I remember standing there, on the shores of our new land, watching as my father stood on his podium before the massive crowd of, for the lack of a better word, refugees. I recall thinking how these spectacular sets of events had, despite the troubles we experienced, blessed every one of my followers to remain by my side. How, despite the hardships, they had all survived and managed to carry the weight of their faith. Somehow I knew it had all been a test. Yet the clarification was when Havok Agamemnon spoke his final words. He proclaimed, as he swore in truth, that His Holy Darkness Melkos Unchanos decreed the creation of a new land. That this land should be named Imperius, after the land from which the city of Impa should reside. That I, Artemis Agamemnon, should be Lord Emperor.

I was then personally, after several hours of celebration and further unpacking of necessary resources, given private council by my father, Havok Agamemnon. In this council, which therein details I shall not write but shall clarify, I was informed to begin preparations for Empire and have it concluded within a further seven days.

And it was so.

Post-Empire

As much as a strange twist of tale and fantasy as my written account of our history may be, I assure you it is entirely true. With seven million people having all the same dream and countless leaders, even therein my own father, being instructed to do a mission for His Holy Darkness, the creation of Imperius cannot be disputed away as mere chance. In the land we were given by our brothers and sisters of Drekamythia we had been given a good start. We had some developed land, some cities, some resources. We were given much, gifted with a chance, taken from religious oppression and gifted with religious freedom. In that single week of seven days, I did create the Imperial Government and form the necessary institutions, or therein the preliminary formation of them. I did as instructed and, with the help of my followers turned citizens, created the Empire as it stands today as the Manifested Drekamythian Empire, in homage to those who assisted us and our Holy Darkness who helped create our glorious Empire.

During this week of creation and manifestation, my people came together to even educate me on the necessity of what would need to be created. Through their dedication and loyalty, those trained previously in military backgrounds in Anagonia banded together to formalize an Imperial Legion. With their help, they assisted in further projects while I allocated military assets that, while old and outdated, helped us improve our standard of living. Thus was it that with all these culminations of events and transpiring historical moments did Imperius come together and my people, while continuing to struggle even despite the hardship, stay banded together under the rule of their Lord Emperor.

For it is through our struggles that we, as common citizens in this Empire, came together as one. Through a single dream, we came together. Through persecution, we grew into a family. Through hardship and struggle, we embraced the true ideals of His Holy Darkness. Through our faith, we endured and finally achieved victory.

We are Imperians, blessed by Melkos Unchanos and granted to be among his Chosen.

I, Artemis Agamemnon, do thank those who had read these words. Understand that while the events may seem fantastic, I can assure you through the truth of millions of citizens that every word I write is true. You may believe otherwise and as I have come to understand through the persecution of my past peers, I can only live to accept it. I simply desire to write the truth, how we came to be, for the rest of the future is unwritten as it always should be.

May Melkos Bless you all,
Artemis Agamemnon

The Holy
Necronomicon

of
Melkos

"Through Him, our deaths are never in vain. For in death comes Melkos. Through Melkos, comes rebirth."
-Razor Agamemnon, Lord Emperor of the Drekamythian Empire
2462 Years Before Imperius

Impurity
First Lesson of Melkos

v1 In the Beginning was Mortals, and the Dark Lord resided with them, among them, one of them. For in these times did the first desires of Darkness seep into our Dark God's heart, making the Impure into Purity, into totality and peace.

v2 For in these times Mortals resided not with humanity, but therein with dragonkin and elfkin, that which calleth themselves Drekamythian, for they lived on another world not of our own.

v3 That therein in these lands of Drekamythia did these races not of humanity wage a Great War, that which did set the impurity of darkness into the heart of our Dark God. That therefore he should become hateful, malevolent and evil.

v4 So therefore did Drekamythia loose sight of life, destroying Purity, inviting therefore Impurity and casting away totality and peace. That therefore did Drekamythia become consumed by the Unholy Darkness, that which did consume our Dark God in the Beginning.

v5 So did our our Dark God consume all life on Drekamythia, tearing it asunder and cast himself unto the void of the stars. For there did our Holy Darkness reside, searching for Purity through his Impurity, vengeance laying in his wake.

v6 One Thousand Years consumed our Holy Darkness, the Impurity banishing him into isolation and exile, leaving him lifeless and void of totality and peace.

v7 That therefore did the Holy Creator, He who Created Melkos, see on the plight of our Holy Darkness and direct him towards hope. For in this hope was the light, that which the darkness could not survive without, for if the light was without darkness, there would be no peace.

v8 And so did our Holy Darkness meet the First Son of Melkos, upon our lands and our ancestors, that he was known unto our Holy Darkness as the Barbarian King, yet not a King when our Holy Darkness, in his impurity, laid eyes on him. For then did He who Created Melkos begin his plan, that should Melkos not willingly accept defeat, should therefore a human, the Barbarian King, bring forth Purity unto our Holy Darkness.

v9 For when our Holy Darkness desired to consume the lands of our ancestors, that which we call the Anagonian Peninsula, therefore did the Barbarian King stand up and tear asunder the will and impurity of our Holy Darkness. That thereby our Dark God was cleansed of his Impurity, made pure, and seen to realize the mercy in his chosen peoples eyes.

v10 That then did the Barbarian King worship our Holy Darkness, begging forgiveness for his actions. That did our Holy Darkness grant forgiveness, casting mercy on the Barbarian King, proclaiming him the First Son of Melkos. That he, the First Son of Melkos, should be forever known as He who Set Melkos Free.

v11 And so we see our First Lesson of Melkos complete, understanding that through Impurity we, the Mortals who are granted the peace of our Holy Darkness, may understand the Purity of life and death. That we should always reach out to our common man, seek shelter and help in their resolution, knowing that those equal and greater in faith can set us free. For so it was with Melkos Unchanos, His Holy Darkness.

Mortality
Second Lesson of Melkos

v1 In the times of the Barbarian King, when all the Tribes of Anagonia were one and under a single banner, did our Dark God walk amongst the Mortals as an equal. In this time, it is said, that Melkos desired to know them that defeated Him.

v2 For these mortals were humble in their humanity, worshiping our Holy Darkness not out of fear, but of respect and honor. That in this act alone did our Dark God see the light of humility and peace, bringing forth all the true aspects of Purity.

v3 Two hundred years did our Holy Darkness reside and therefore did two hundred years pass without another human displaying the power of the Barbarian King. For when the First Son of Melkos did die, our Dark God humbled his soul, bringing it unto himself and preserving him for all eternity.

v4 Then on the two hundredth and first year after the death of the First Son of Melkos, the Barbarian King, did Melkos Unchanos find another with the aspects of Purity. Yet at the time was he a babe, simple minded, still learning the world. Therefore did our Holy Darkness take him as his own, as the Second Son of Melkos, raising him in all the ways of the immortals, that therefore his parents may be blessed and honored for all time.

v5 So did our Holy Darkness name His new son Nokomis Reign, representing the honor of the dragonkin and the eternal salvation of the reign of our Holy Darkness. That therefore his name should echo in all the ages, that never should it die.

v6 And so, for twenty years after, the child grew into a man and become a leader of men. That he, Nokomis Reign, Second Son of Melkos, became the new Barbarian King and united all the Tribes of Anagonia.

v7 For two years thence did our Dark God watch, and therefore two years did the hatred return in our Dark God's heart. That thereunto did all the Purity that filled his heart wash away, returning into Impurity that his Darkness become unholy.

v8 That therefore on the second month of the third year after the rise of the Second Barbarian King did Melkos Unchanos hunger for evil and tyranny, consuming the souls of man once again, depriving Himself of truth and purity.

v9 And so did the Anagonian Peninsula become plunged into darkness, that thereby no weapon of man could defeat His Holy Darkness, that He consumed all in His wake, that which did this last for ten years and two days.

v10 On the third day of the tenth year did Nokomis Reign stand up to his Father, Melkos Unchanos, Our Holy Darkness. That thereby a great battle ensued and man and God wages a great conflict.

v11 For the ground shook, the earth quaked and our Holy Darkness become tired. That therefore did the Second Son of Melkos strike him down, plunging the Great Sword of Drekamythia into the heart of our Dark God, that He should be made Pure again.

v12 That thereby did Our Holy Darkness become stricken, lashing out in his angered state and consuming His Second Son, thereby weeping with a deep sadness upon realization of His sins upon His Son. That did Our Holy Darkness take the Second Son of Melkos unto himself, preserving him for all eternity, sparing him from the horror of consumption.

v13 That then did Our Holy Darkness truly understand the bounds and restrictions of Mortality. For upon watching the death of the one He raised, He was made known to the blood and flesh of men. So therefore did He cast Himself from the world of men, seeking to grieve His loss back unto the stars, leaving the children of Melkos to their own devices.

v14 And so we see that with this Second Lesson of Melkos how fragile life truly is. That through our Mortality we gain the strength of compassion. That therefore, despite our differences, we are stronger united than we are divided and alone. For in this strength we see Our Holy Darkness succeed, only failing when Impurity and Division consumed Him once again. For so it was with Melkos Unchanos, His Holy Darkness.
