Moral self-righteousness should not ever be the purview of the World Assembly. The original argument of the authors of this repeal that they plan to replace it with better legislation is questionable, in light of the fact that several of them have already begun to blockade the numerous drafts of replacement bills with haranguing, ad-hominem attacks on their authors. Today I am almost ashamed for the World Assembly. It is behaviour like this that makes people look down on a fine organisation.

Lord Raekevik gave the Ambassador a sceptic look.

"Umm... I am the sole author of this repeal and I have not made the argument that I plan to replace it with better legislation, so the argument deemed questionable does not exist. I have however stated in this debate that the Queendom supports the replacement being drafted by Snefaldia and Mousebumples and I have previously stated that the Queendom supports the replacement drafted by Flibbleites. The Queendom is very unlikely to support anything that is drafted by Great Zavi, because we find it very unlikely that such a replacement would be better than the resolution that was just repealed. In the event that Great Zavi should prove us wrong and produce a proposal that we were to find agreeable, we would of course lend our support to that proposal. As for the comment on conduct, if I am found to have behaved inappropriately in any debate, I would appreciate the feedback to be more specific, so I know which of my statements that are considered inappropriate."

"My congratulations, Lord Raekevik on the unadultered success of your delegation's resolution. Although I shall further extend my laudatory remarks to encompass nations and individuals throughout the world who have triumphed significantly on this day. Naturally, this moment represents merely a single cobblestone on the glorious path which leads to the temple of liberty, justice, and humanity. Progress must and shall continue to be made. I, therefore, shall respectfully declined Ms. Orman's... gracious invitation, in favor of rekindling the discourse surrounding issues that pertain to Lord Raekevik's resolution. I yearn for no reprieve until the instutionalized exploitation of all people has ceased to constitute a dilemma. Nonetheless, I encourage Mr. Dush to accept an invitation from Her Majesty Queen Augusta Marie Liorette von Reichart-Éstre, the Sovereign of the Kingdom of Evraim and Her Associated Territories, cordially requesting his attendence at a soiree organized at the Summer Palace at Éstre where he shall be considered one of the most venerated guests. Well, good day, ladies and gentleman."

Both of these statements are ones I agree with. How so, you may ask? How does one reconcile such irreconcilable differences?! Great questions, I respond.

First, the discussion surrounding the take down of this resolution has been, for the large part on both sides, terrible. The morality, pettiness, silliness, self-righteousness, etc. has been sickening. I am not against these things per say, I am against these things in this forum, though.

Claiming that this bill institutes morality on your nation is just as bad as claiming that the WA degrades the sovereignty of your nation. These are two terrible arguments that I see trotted out here far too often, to which I reply: I is precisely the function of the WA to institute its brand of morality, rules and justice upon your nation. Don't like it? Drop out or stay involved and be anti-WA every step of the way.

Let me be clear when I talk about morality. I believe we have a bill banning child labour and torture. These are also moral judgements... it's just less contentious at this time. I call on nations to stop using these arguments to ban legislation and to start using data, facts, figures, intelligence, etc. on what is best for the population. I saw this sorely lacking in this discussion. I expect better from you World Assembly members.

I am glad this piece of legislation is being re-written, as this is something I do agree with.

Hangs head in shame...
