Something to do with the forum coding means the Jolt way is not possible, some limitation with PHP3,

Well, I can't code my way out of a GOTO loop, so I guess this is where my curiosity becomes idle.

Each post has an unique number. It shouldn't be hard for the reply editor to just quote a list of posts by number, instead of just one. But it's almost certainly too hard for me, I downloaded phpBB to fiddle around with but after about ten minutes my brane hurt and I gave it up.

So what do you think of the new forum so far?

The rate of paedophiles raised with 274%.

The average forum population is much younger and it seems that American posters are the new majority. Which isn’t always bad, but the consequence is a raise in fastfood-TV-topics like ‘Who’s having the best army?’

There’s an exodus going on of regular users. Some due insanity or the opposite. Others due personal matters.

The user interface sucks more than in the past. Don’t focus on the green, there is more around than only colour.

The mods their behaviour was rather different at the start, but present times, it’s like in the old days: rather relaxed.

• Vote for The NationStates Razzies 2009
• Any similarities with reality is a mere coincidence
• No mods were harmed during the making of this posting
• Protégez les enfants: ne leur faites pas respirer votre commentaires`
• Quand tous les dégoûtés seront partis, il ne restera plus que les dégoûtants
• Please report me at the Moderation Section because I'm spoiling your day

It's generally more stable, the constant logging out has somewhat abated, some old names are not around, some new ones have appeared. I feel rather distant, but that's probably because I keep writing out posts and then losing confidence and not posting them. This may well happen to this post as well. My contribution has almost disappeared, so I may end up stopping entirely. This is rather bloggy; apologies.

EDIT: Oo, you're lucky.

Ever heard of the clam before the storm? er ... actually, I meant "calm before the storm", but I like the clam typo. Imagine it: clam sees storm coming, clams up.

Should be on General's coat of arms.

If Neesika keeps on being in the third person, will Ardchoille will have to excoriate her in the third person? Ardchoille has never been very comfortable with threesomes. Trinities, fine, but not threesomes.

I do think General is narkier lately. Time was, a mod would drift by with a "cool it" and whoever it was would cool it, or just sulk. Of late, "cool it" seems to lead to an offended dissertation in Moderation on why it's not possible to cool it, because there was nothing to cool in the first place, and if there was, why are we only telling X to cool it when Y was obviously much less cool.

Possibly mods've all been so busy we don't get to wander by and so don't see lots of stuff till it's reached train wreck stage in Moderation. We were busy before, though.

I dunno. Maybe when the paint gets dingier and we accidentally bump a few holes in the walls, we'll all settle down.

I missed the place, I have to admit, but it feels all weird and unfamiliar and not-homey right now.

I failed one element of the first round of testing, so now I have to bone up on my skills this Sunday so I can pass the restesting on Tuesday! (This is roller derby, not sex) I'm horribly nervous because I really, really, REALLY want to pass this and continue my training!

To be fair, the mods could just ignore most of the posters running off to Moderation by saying, "No, it's not trolling/flaming/death threats, it's perfectly acceptable." Which they do, but not nearly often enough, hence why you can get a three day forumban for calling someone an idiot if they choose to report it to the mods.

Hey, Neesika! How's it going?

You moved? Intersting. Where are you living now?

So, how about these election in the fall? You think Iggy has a chance?

What? oh you want to talk about these forums? They're okay I guess. It's the people that make the forums and this is not a good time for General. What with Obama in the white house, the gay rights firmly marching on and the summer being quiet, there's nothing to get these liberals to rise from their slumber and argue vehemently against something.

But you picked a good time to come back. Business is about to pick up. I fully expect some neo-nazi to flood general with the onset of school. And there's this storm brewing in Moderation who will go nicely with popcorn.

Say hi to the kids and the hubby.

I moved to Montreal, close to GoG. Can't say hi to the hubby because I don't have one anymore...we divorced last July and he's somewhere in Chile last I heard. The kids are great, just started school this week in an Anglophone school (which means they just do French in the afternoon instead of all day). I've also taken a break from the real world...I have next to no idea what's been going on. Kind of nice actually. Still, waiting for the fog to lift and for my blood to start pumping again.
