Well, since nobody has done it before, I'm going to start a thread for national weaponry. In here place whatever you've got picture or stats of for the rest of us to look at. What you can generally look at putting in here is assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, melee weaponry, or what ever your armed forces use. Also, I ask that you put your vote in a poll to help tell what the most popular round is most rifles are chambered in on NationStates (ie. 5.56x45 NATO, 7.62x39 M43, 7.62x51 NATO, 7.62x54R, etc).

Arms used are AKM's, AK-74 series rifles, RPK-74, SVD and PKP machine guns, where as special purpose weapons in 9x39 aren't listed and hand guns are just dead weight that's better used for extra magazines.

We don't have any weaponry of that sort.
We have gummiberry juice, a wonderful drink which either increases your strength tenfold (if you're a human) or gives you the ability to bounce like a rubber ball, away from any enemies (if you're a Gummi Bear).
Much better defence than any gun.

[Crookfur]

Crookfur relies on a highly standardised series of roudns.

The standard Crookfur Infantry round was 6.25x43mm polymer cased round issued for rifles and machine guns. This is currently being phased out and is being replaced with the caseless 6.6x48mm CFC round.

For pistol and SMGs a mix of .357SIG,9x23mm Win, .357magnum and .455 Brannoc Super was used but things have now been standardised on 9x24mm CFC (another caseless round).

For HMGs and logn range rifles 9x90mm MEN was the standard load for long enough supported by the even heavier .55ATM (13.9x91mm), the 9mm has largely been repalced by 8x67mm CFC (again caseless) bu the .55ATM still kicks around.

For grenade rounds Crookfur did have a complicated mess of various 20mm, 30mm and 40mm roudns and laucnhers with several in each calibre. There are now 2 20mm rounds in servcie, 1 which is basically a grenade capable shotgun round and the other a necked up 9x90mm MEN that fill the 25x59mm or 20x82mm sort of role for lightish cannons and AMRs. 30mm is for export only and 40mm is beign redeveloped.

I haven't even started on the full historical or even special forces stuff yet. A basic summary of rifle cartridges would go .303 MKII cordite> .303CF (7.7x57mm aka rimless .303)> .303interim (7.7x49mm)> 6.25x43mm (various versions)> 6.6x48mm CFC.

Rifles:
Standard Combat Rifle: IFAM AR5A4 Carbine (6.8mm Remington SPC). The AR5 carbine was created as part of the 21st Century Weapons Procurement Initiative. It was originally chambered in the 5.56mm calibre, but it soon became apparent through testing that the 6.8mm SPC round chambered in the original AR6 rifle was more effective in the close-quarters combat oriented AR5. The A2 model was re-chambered to make the A3, which was upgraded in early 2009 as part of the Decade Secondary Upgrade Program to make the AR4, using a completely different design to the original.
(NB:The Marine Paratroopers use the FAMAS N (Marine Pattern) as their rifle.)

Army Special Forces Standard Combat Rifle: HK416 Rifle (5.56mm NATO): Although the Army Special Forces community uses a Special Operations Peculiar version of the AR5A4, the 416 is also used in large quantities and is widely recognised as the AR5A4 SOPMOD's direct competitor amongst the Army Special Forces. The remarkable durability and reliability of the weapon is favoured by some ArSF operators over the exceptional accuracy and flexiblity of the AR5A4 SOPMOD.

Support Rifle: IFAM AR6A3 Battle RIfle (7.62mm NATO). The AR6 Combat Rifle, when introduced into the Armed Forces of Anemos Major in 2003, was meant to introduce many different things into the Army; the 6.8mm Remington SPC round, an additional squad support capability, and marksmanship in the Army. The rifle was capable of automatic fire, a feature maintained in every variant. When the AR5's rechambering to the 6.8mm round was decided, the AR6 was in danger of being replaced by Arsenal Deimos's proposed AR/Y7 rifle, but the AR6 was configured to use the 7.62mm NATO round, and was maintained as the Army's support rifle as the AR6A3.

Squad Automatic Weapon: IFAM MG501 (5.56mm NATO). The MG501 was developed a few years after the AR6 in order to further lessen the Anemonian state's dependance on foreign weaponry. It repalced the MG4, and incorporated features such as a rail system, an innovative barrel and feed system that could be changed to support both linked ammunition and drum magazines. There are various variants with things such as shortened barrels and foldable/telescopic buttstocks, all coming together to create one of the most versatile, flexible SAWs in service today.

General Purpose Machine Gun: Rheinmetall MG3 Universal Machine Gun (7.62mm NATO). The MG3 Universal Machine Gun was first introduced to the nation of Anemos Major in the form of its predecessor, the MG42, on the battlefields of the Second Great War. From 1944 onwards, the Ragnosian state began to receive shipments of this versatile weapon, and Anemonian troops learned to fear it. As a result, the rechambered version of this weapon was pushed into service quite quickly when the Anemonian Army began to look for a weapon to fulfil the purpose of GPMG, and the choice was no mistake. The MG3 has distinguished itself in Anemonian hands through countless batlefields, and as a support weapon, service through to 2010 is envisaged by the Armed Forces.

The AUG77:

A fast-firing assault rifle/SMG used by Augarian forces. It has a massive amount of ammunition (which can vary... either short stubs of metal-usual- or steel spikes). It is semi-automatic or fully automatic. The rifle is not very coveted on the battlefield due to it jamming and its like of exceptional features.

The side arm is actually the handle of the rifle, which may be removed at any time. This isn't terribly convenient, so other various sidearms may be purchased by officers or men who can afford them, usually from Haldula.

Jakra's standard issue rifle is the Bushmaster ACR (known as the "R77-Sarrissa" in Jakra) chambered in Remington 6.8mm SPC cartridge, a carbine version is used by vehicle crew and special forces, and a marksman rifle is used by the Squad Designated Marksmen (SDM)

These are standard issue to the members of the Grand Duke's Palatine Guard, a ceremonial unit which is also highly capable in the role of bodyguards.


Although these weapons might look 'quaint,' they can be extremely effective in close quarters when wielded by a trained swordsman.
