It's my favorite type of music, by far. Smooth jazz, acid jazz, M-Base, jazzcore - you name it.

What is NS's opinion on jazz?

I'm more fond of the traditional jazz styles myself.

I heart Thelonious Monk, the Seatbelts, Cab Calloway, and the Rippingtons.

Anything fast that helps me think faster and lets me flow.

Mostly, I seem to gravitate to bebop and big band jazz, though.

Jazz Fusion has some good stuff. I'm not particularly interested in the genre but it has some great artists and songs in its portfolio for sure.

I've been meaning to get into jazz. I just heard Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis all the way through for the first time, and it kinda goes without saying that it's really good.

I'm a fusion freak. A few months ago I saw RTF in Boston and it was a great show. I can tolerate most stuff, except for smooth jazz, which is boring.

Some of my favorites are Miles Davis, RTF, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Bill Bruford, Brand X, Hiromi, Korni Grupa, Soft Machine, and Romano Mussolini (yes, Benito's son.)

Jazz fusion gets old really fast, IMO. It always seems like people need to add more effects to compensate for less virtuosity.
