The cannons roar, 120mm shells fly out of the muzzles, heading towards a group of combatants. To Corporal Ranir, this seemed like just another training exersize, but it wasn't. The targets were real, and they were advancing steadily, threatening to take Grovemoore, the last Jagalonian outpost in the territory, this started only a few short weeks ago, when rebels in Raeolin started attacking Jagalonian bases in the area, the rebels quickly gained support, and soon declared themselves their own soverign state, known as Karrihan. This mattered not to the corporal at this time though, as he was too busy firing his rifle at the on-coming rebels. People around him were dying, he could feel the town was being overrun. He picked up the rifle issued to him by the Jagalonian Armed Forces, the new DVL29 sharpshooter, and he ran, he fled the battlefield, to find refuge to the south...

With the last of Jagalonia's holdings gone from the area known as Karrihan, the area declared itself a free state. But the Jagalonian Emperor had other ideas, he knew the area was vital to trade in Jagalonia, but he also knew that he could not devote the entire military to re-taking the area, and so he decided to send out a plea, a request for aid from other nations.

To whom it may concern,
This is Emperor Jenavire, sending a message to the other leaders of the world.  Rebels have recently sprung up in an area known to us as Karrihan, and my army requests aid in putting this scum down.  We only have a few battalions to spare, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
With hope,
Emperor Jenavire.

The cheering in Raeolin Square came loudly, as thousands poured into the streets, as they heard the news that Grovemoore had been taken, by what was now proclaimed as the Royal Karrihan Military, The newly appointed king, Fallenor Karrdis, was now approaching a stage, to make his speech.

"My people," he begun, the crowd fell silent, everyone gripping onto every word he said. "Now, is the time for celebration! We have won! We have cast the shackles of opression off ourselves, and crippled a tyranical regime!" The crowd cheered loudly for a good time before the king raised his hand, signaling for silence. "Today, we begin re-building all that was lost in this bloody war, re-building this grand land as we see fit, and not some decrepid corpse back in Avalon. This is our time! This is our age! Draw it in, and embrace it!" The crowd cheered as the king stepped back, took a bow, and left the stage. He had much work to do, particularily, finding new allies that would support him in a war that would undoubtedly ensue.

If you are reading this message, then you are a nation that we believe can help Karrihan, we have recently secceded from the Jagalonian Empire, and are seeking out allies in a war that will undoubtedly happen, as they try to reclaim this land.  Everything we have done will be for naught if we don't find any allies to push back this invasion.  A swift responce would be greatly appreciated.

Kraannei Will Help

Postby Kraannei » Wed Sep 14, 2011 1:28 pm

As the senators were having their daily break, a currier ran into Senator Thomas O'Harney's office. He quickly handed him a letter and exited. O'Harney carefully opened this well-sealed note. It was a cry for help! The nation Jagalonia was in need of reinforcements! After the break O'Harney spoke to his fellow senators, about helping Jagalonia. They cast a quick vote to the people of Kraannei. 87% agreed to help. And so the SSRK Senate deployed 15,000 grunts and 5,000 Tiger B1 tanks to Jaganolia.
O'Harney sent a reply back to Jagalonia, explaining why Kraannei was helping and what we were sending.

Reply note:

We hear your cry brother! Kraannei has cast a vote to the people and they agreed to help! The SSRK Senate has deployed 15,000 grunts and 5,000 B1 tanks to you.

The Minister of State paced up and down the Board Room as his cabinet discussed the situation.
"Jagalonia would be an excellent military ally, sir. Their empire is much larger than the Karrihan kingdom, and assisting them might curry some favour with their government." The Minister of Intelligence proclaimed, gesturing wildly at the representation of the empire on the massive digital board that covered the table.
"On the other hand," a female voice cut in. The Minister of Defence. "considering the organization of Jagalonia's military, this could be an excellent opportunity to test our new regiments."
The Minister of the Economy scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Isn't there supposed to be a large oil field somewhere in Karrihan?" He suggested. The Minister of Intelligence nodded slowly.
"Intervening ourselves won't do." The Minister of State responded. "We may have to bring in the I.P.F. and force a ceasefire. But first, we'll move some forces nearby. See what happens, what their response is."
"First, we'll need a real reason. What's the status of our expats in Karrihan?"
The Minister of Intelligence cleared his throat.
"They're all fine, sir, although some have requested evacuation. A few were in the combat zones, but they're all hiding in major settlements now. Evacuation should be relatively orderly if we can set up a base."
"Good, good." The Minister waved is arms dismissing the rest of his cabinet. They nodded at him and filed out one by one.

Slowly, the Minister headed to his office to type up the necessary telegrams.

From the desk of the Minister of State:
Dear Sir Emperor of Jagalonia,
it has come to the attention of the Lowlandian government that Jagalonia has lost control of the region of Karrihan to a rebel party.
We would like you to note the fact that a extremely small contingent of approximately 600 men (together with transport and some combat vehicles) is en route to the region.
Should they enter, they will act as a neutral, non-combatant observer force with the express goal of maintaining a presence for Lowlandian nationals in the area.
Until such a time that we receive your permission to enter, and your acknowledgement of the neutrality of these forces, they will remain at the closest legally possible location to the crisis zone.
Sincerely,
Henk Anderszoon, Minister of State.

The king walked around his new office, trying to get used to the feeling of finally being king, the lord of a country. He still had a hard time believing that just a few short months ago, he was dying in the streets, because he could not exersize his claim to nobility. All that was changed now, though. He finally got around to sitting at his desk, and looking over the document placed before him. He knew that these people would probably try to provide humanitarian aid to the downtrodden within Karrihan. He picked up his quill, and began to write a response.

President John Winters of The Republic of Krilo glanced down at his empty coffee cup. He, Vice-President Turner, and War Secretary Jackson had been discussing the recent events in Jagalonia for almost an hour. several decades ago most citizens of Krilo didn't care for foreign intervention, but the newest generations of voters thought otherwise.
The Vice-President looked up from an intelligence report. "We have to do something, but we can't warrant a full scale invasion. The country wouldn't stand for it." He removed his glasses and rubbed his tired eyes.
"We can't leave Karrihan to themselves. Its only a matter of time before the larger and more advance Jagalonian force outnumbers them." Winters looked towards Secretary Jackson, "What about a small force? one or two brigades to help train and support the fledgling Karrihan Military."
Jackson nodded, "I can have an army special forces brigade ready to deploy immediately, and two infantry brigades shortly thereafter."
"We should offer the special forces brigade and send more if the request it." Turner added.
Winters stood up from his chair, "Agreed. Please send the offer Mr. Turner."
"Yes Sir." Turner and Secretary Jackson turned and left the office.

We may be able to offer further military and humanitarian assistance later if you make the request.
I will be looking forward to your response, and our soldiers await their orders. Thank you.

The emperor looked at the 2 noted before him. One seemed like unintelligable rambling, the other, could pose a problem. He had a response in mind for both of them, but he still sat at his desk, waiting for the "right" words to come to him, after a while of sitting, he finally picked up his pen, and began to write a note to the nations in question...

Code: Select all
This message is for whoever is in charge in Kraannei, we have but a few simple questions.  First, what in the hell is a B1 tank?  It doesn't show up anywhere in our dosiers.  Second, why do you consider us "Brother"?  Though, the help us appreciated.  We shall have a mechanized infantry battallion meet your soldiers upon arrival in Jagalonian soil.

Code: Select all
The empire does not appreciate you intervening within this conflict.  Any soldiers seen in the Karrihan territory that do not bear allegience to Jagalonia, or her allies, shall be shot.

After penning these two notes, the emperor decided that he should meet with his generals, to discuss strategy on how to re-take this Jagalonian soil. He got up from his seat, and walked down a long series of corridors, and hallways, to an underground level of the palace, where the generals were congrigated around a map table, displaying the region of Karrihan. It was by far, the largest land mass alloted to one area, mainly because of the arid landscape, almost the entire area was desert, or wasteland of some sort, with the odd grassland popping up throughout. As the emperor walked into the room, the generals all stood, and one saluted him.

"My lord, artillery brigades will soon be stationed outside Grovemoore, and Fallir. The infantry will soon station themselves and create offensive bases from which to stage our attacks on the cities. An airborne, and airborne armoured battallions, will soon be paradropped into the Tazkedar planes, where they will begin taking control of the oil depots there."

The emperor motioned for them all to sit, then he spoke quietly, but his words seemed to carry the weight of the gods themselves.
"What about Mount Breket? Have we found the secret base there? Also, what of this new "King"? He should be disposed of sooner rather than later..."

Another of the generals spoke up, he seemed to be the youngest amongst them, and one could easily see a flare of passion in his eyes. "My lord, my scouts have found no such base in the mountain, but I will be leaving tomorrow with 2 infantry brigades, and an armoured brigade under my command to find it. As for this new..."King"...the airborne can make their way to their proclaimed capitol of Raeolin, and siege it."

Another of the generals spoke up, he seemed older, and more grizzled, there was once a sparkle in his eyes, but any indication of it was long gone. [i]"My naval armada can blockade the city of Raeolin, preventing any supplies from getting in by sea..."

"Very well then." The emperor exclaimed, "You all seem to know what you're doing. I have full confidence in you. Do not fail me." The generals stood, as the emperor walked out. The plan was set, and already in motion.

New Lowlandian forces are en route to act as neutral observers for the time being. Humanitarian aid will be supplied to non-combatants. Firing on TNLA personnel will be considered an act of war.
Firing on humanitarian personnel will be considered an act of war.

24km south of Grovemoore...
Captain Fiek opened the hatch on the back of his command tank, and stepped out for a strech. The battallion had been on the move for the past day and a half, racing to the position they now held. The few Karrihan soldiers stationed here were dealt with easily enough, and he was sure they hadn't had time to report back. He went back into the tank for a moment, and told his radio man, "Tell the jacks to assemble here..." The radio man nodded, and sent a message over the radio, soon, 3 other command tanks rolled in, and stopped, creating a circle, a soldier stepped out of each tank, approaching the captain. "Alright, Here's what's gona happen. Secure a perimiter, make sure nothing's here but us, then we're gona dig in as much as we can, and wait for the mobile guns. After that, the guns are going to start pounding the city, and the infantry are gona roll in, and we're going to take the city. Then the infantry are going to fortify it, while we move forward with the guns, to take Fort Brekmill. I'm told there's an entire brigade at Fallir doing the same thing. They will support us into the fort. Any questions?"

One of the other soldiers raised his hand. "How do we know 21 brigade will be able to take Fallir? I've been told there's alot of AT weapons massed up there."

Another soldier piped up, "Even the best laid plans never survive first contact with the enemy, you should know that by now, Cov."

Fiek motioned for silence, "We'll have to trust they'll be able to break through. In the mean time, we're wasting daylight, get back to your positions, and root out any presence within a 2km radius. And try not to make too much noise, if we alert them now, they'll attack, and we'll be forced back."

The 3 lieutenants saluted, and walked back to their tanks. The area would be purged of all life.

Avalon, Capitol of Jagalonia
The emperor looked over, yet 2 more notes passed to him. The first was from The New Lowlands, he noted this response, and took them into account as enemies to be crushed at a later date. He then moved on to the second note, one asking for more information on what was happening. He picked up his trusty pen, which was soon running out of ink, and began to write a note.

No disturbances in Jagalonia...Just a small war, nothing you should really concern yourself with.  They have rebelled against the glory of our nation, and attempted to declare themselves seperate from Jagalonia.  They shall pay for the crime of treason.

At this, the pen stopped working, Jenavire shook the pen violently, then attempted to continue writing, still, nothing came out. he angerly tossed the pen across the room, and shouted loudly. When an aide came into the room, he shouted at him saying, "Deliver this damnit! I'm done with this damn pen bullshit!" The aide nodded, seeming a little scared, took the paper, being careful not to wrinkle it, and walked out of the room to have it delivered.

Chernobyl Naval Center, Ukraine, Lenisograd

General Zhukov watched, as the massive amount of troops were loaded onto the boats, shuffling, wondering where the destination was, '4 Million soldiers for rebels? Something's gotta be up.' He thought to himself. Lut. Oswal ran up behind him and saluted, "Comrade General! The USS Katia is fully loaded and ready for deployment! The USS Nina is also prepared with the new rounds! The rebels will no doubt fall quickly!' Zhukov nodded, "Good. When Nadya is ready, deploy for the waters. Hold all fire until we get there, I don't even have detalied orders. We'll just wait till the get the good-to-go sign from the Kremlin." Oswal nodded, and quickly ran to the Nadya.

Zhukov lit a cigarette, and watched as the Nina slowly left from the harbor. The words, 'Bouken Desho Desho' were still on it's side, on crude white paint. He laughed at the seamen's terrible joke on the side. 'Still got to many damn Haruhiists here.' He dropped his cigar, and left for his command station. His trench coat flapping in the harsh winds.

Off the shore of Karrihan's Northern Wasteland, some distance from Raeolin, Admiral Woudts glanced over his view of the flight deck, where two NH90s were preparing to take off. His eyes turned ahead to the sea in front of the small aircraft carrier, the NGS Parel, where a handful of larger beach-landers were making their way to the desert shore ahead.

Two days ago, the small contingent of ships had left the harbor of Nieuw Rotterdam with undue secrecy.

Two frigates flanked the aircraft carrier, decks bristling with Anti-Air and missile ordnance, and the Admiral knew that somewhere deeper in the sea, two hunter submarines stood idle, awaiting his orders.

Aboard the small group of sea landers were a bunch of NTW-1s and NTW-2s, alternatively filled with either combat engineers, security staff, or sufficient supplies and equipment to build a small land base.

The Admiral smiled with satisfaction as the first of the craft made it ashore, a truck trundling away from the beach onto the land behind it to begin construction of the basic evacuation facility.

Soon, the base would be a hub of transport, pulling out scared Lowlandian citizens and bringing in Red Diamond supplies from home.

But for now, Woudts drank coffee, and thought of the shitstorm that he was going to have to dodge from both Karrihan and Jagalonia for entering troops onto their soil.

Raeolin
The king sat in his office, looking over the letters recieved. It was good news that so many nations were interested in helping him, Krilo, seemed to stand out the most among them, a recently formed nation such as themselves, Fallenor was hoping they could find much common ground. He wanted to get Krilo troops inside Karrihan, helping him, as soon as possible, so he made is response clear.

Your support in this war would be greatly appreciated, a battalion of infantry are stationed 75km to the west of Raeolin, on the coast.  and shall help any of your soldiers land, and get them on their way.  I also have one of my top officers there, to direct them on where to go.  We hope we can achieve great things together.
King Fallenor Karrdis.

Karrdis then moved onto the next letter, from The New Lowlands, he was happy to see more foreign support, but rather saddened that it wasn't more soldiers, and that they wouldn't directly help Karrihan. Nevertheless, the help was appreciated, and he penned a quick response.

Your support is appreciated, though we are saddened that you are not willing to help us directly, we respect your choice to help your citizens.  There is a small airbase about 50km north-west of Foxlayne, you may operate out of there if you so wish.
King Fallenor Karrdis.

The final letter on Fallinor's desk, this was a strange request, Tarmeca seemed to be asking for information as to why this schism happened, he picked up his pen one last time, and scratched a response to them.

The Jagalonians are hopeless opressors, they strike down their own populace using armed soldiers, they kill men for speaking against the government.  They must learn a lesson that has been taught to all such empires in the past.  You cannot keep your people down forever.
King Fallenor Karrdis.

Mole Deep
Mole Deep, this was Karrihan's secret base in Mount Breket, it had tunnel systems that spanned over almost all of Karrihan, and soldiers could deploy to anywhere from here. The tunnels themselves, were 100 feet underground, and supported by heavy steel beams, it used a bullet train system to make travel for infantry take less time. The systems themselves could not move heavy armour, but it could be used to supply them.

In the main hub, based in the core of Mount Breket, was the command room for all of Karrihan's armed forces, from here, orders were sent out to the officers of the Karrihanian regiments. At the map table, stood Grand General Kustof. He leaned over the giant map of Karrihan, moving small figures representing infantry, and tanks around the map. At what seemed to be Fallir, was a figure representing an anti-tank gun. This represented the many 105mm anti-tank guns placed there, knowing the Jagalonian armour would strike heaviest there. there was also a small tank, just south of Grovemoore, Kustof moved a second tank there. He knew of the Jagalonian armour there, and he knew that the artillery would soon be supporting them. He motioned for a nearby communications officer to join him.

"What can I do for you sir?" the officer questioned.

"Evacuate the citizens from Grovemoore, and get the 54th infantry division in there supporting. Have the citizens evacuated Fallir?"

"Yes, sir. Everything is ready for the Jagalonian armour at Fallir. I shall order the 54th infantry into Grovemoore, and order an evacuation in Grovemoore. Is that all?"

"Yes, I think so..." Kustof said, He hoped his plan would work, if it didn't he knew this would mean doom.

Captain Shepard was in command of B Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Infantry Brigade. He was recently promoted to Captain and given this command of two-hundred soldiers after leading his rifle platoon to victory in a massive war-games operation.

Shepard and his fellow officers in his company were playing poker when two MPs burst into the conference room. Shepard looked up quickly and instantly barked at the MPs, "What the hell is going on corporal?"
"Sir! Colonel Tye has personally ordered me to forward these orders to you. They are extremely urgent." The MP looked nervous.
Shepard paused, "Hand me those orders." The MP handed over the folder he was carrying. Before opening it Shepard motioned for the MPs to leave. He opened the folder and began to read. The man to his right, a 1st lieutenant Adams, broke the eery silence after a few moments. "What is it Captain?"
"Deployment orders... straight from the president. We are going to Karrihan to assist the rebels in the civil war there. B company is going to parachute in along the coast and meet up with friendly forces there. Additional units and assets will be sent later." The Captain read off parts of the orders as he quickly checked his wristwatch. "And we only have twelve hours until takeoff."
Adams threw his cards on the table. "Well there goes this game." he motioned to the other officers around the table, "Lets assemble the men in hangar A. I'll get the MPs to help round up the men.
"I agree. If we can leave on time it'll be a miracle. Good luck men." Shepard quickly saluted his officers and made his way to his car. He had to make it to the bases command center and begin the the deployment process.

We are deploying a company of two-hundred infantryman to be parachuted at your specified location. They will be on the ground within 48 hours. This company is no ordinary group. They are commanded by a captain who was born to be in combat, and his men maintain some of the highest standards in the Kriloan army. In addition to these soldiers we are sending a small naval fleet containing one hospital ship, two missile cruisers, and three transport ships carrying two mobile artillery and anti-air battalions. Colonel hastings will be in charge of those forces. The hospital ship KNN Grace will be carrying humanitarian aid, as well as functioning as a hospital for your capital.
May we be victorious in gaining your people's Independence!
