"I hope. If he was the last then this battle should be over. I have a sneaking suspicion it is not. I think it be best to clear each room before the official end of this revolution." stated Maddy panting trying to cool off her body from the adrenaline. "We must see to these injuries. Are you all right? Can everyone continue. If not then please go outside down the steps and join our comrades in the medical tent. I won't stand for losing another troop to this. You there bandit. since it was your kill you can have the loot on his body when this is over. Come, perhaps we can find more?"

Maddy and the rest of the gang, except for the guard that had been axed wearing malfunctioning armor that hobbled out of the building to the medical ward, were slowly creeping through the dim corridors of the large public building complex checking each individual room for anyone that might be taking refuge or any of the remaining uncorruptables. They found no one until they had entered the Uncorruptable's Courtroom. There was...

"I see...we're missing many of the most important relics. The Blade of Dusk, the Lucante Grimoire, and the Cowl of Mourning. If we take our time we'll be able to get a chance to find them using our wits. Though I could have sworn..." He thought to himself for a moment.

Maybe I could contact Yalij to look in the codices, it shouldn't be too hard to find them that way. I'll be able to get a hold of the information we need to find all the relics. I'll also see if I can send a letter to Maddy. She must be lonely. he thought as he began to carefully pen a letter out and prepared to deliver it. With a whistle he summoned another stork which came to his side.

"Good, I'll see what information we can find out from Caltris." Maven said as he looked calmly at the birds as they flew away. He looked at Ayliah and shook his head. I have no idea what has been going on in these past few days. What word do you have from my City? What is going on in Caltris? Is the bounty still on my head?" He asked with curiosity, hoping by now the popular support was rallied once again behind him. He didn't know.

"Come little foxkin, violence is not required. We just need a few questions, for you and you Grandmaster Samurai."

"F-Fine... what do you want from me? I'll come, but I don't want any trouble." Jabrill said as he looked at Jeremiah with a look of desperation. "Are you arresting me? I didn't commit a crime, unless walking down the street is a crime these days."

"Come along you too, we just need to go for a short check at the local guard's station. If you are innocent, then we will let you go, no harm done."

"Fine Tincans. I have no interest in rumbling with you, so I'll come with you so you don't act all ridiculous" Dareth said as he grumbled.

Han snuck away, determined to find this Nirdasil being, for she must be able to help, or Jabrill wouldn't have mentioned her.

I hope whoever she is she can help him. He's in trouble. Again. That damned foxling

Cherry sighed, rolling her eyes and leaning against the wall again. Back to boring. Maven was writing letters, leaving her with nothing to do, but sit and wait. Ayliah was off doing business, and returned just as Maven finshed. "Sorry Maven," Ayliah began. "I don't think you have support of the public, but my contacts lack magical means of messaging, so I am forced to wait for them to travel by foot. It takes a week before I receive some information from some places." She said, sighing.

"It should be a routine questioning. As long as everything checks out, you should be free to go within the hour. The Samurai may take a bit longer, but it shouldn't be too much trouble, three hours at most." The guard said, optimistically. In reality, it could take much longer, with a possible murder by the Samurai, but the guard hoped it was a misunderstanding. It would be boring otherwise.

The guards began leading the duo, Mari and Dareth, away, as pleasantly as possible when escorting them to a guardhouse. The guardhouse, actually. Only one.

"Then we will have to wait. So my question is, Ayliah, since I am one of the seekers of the flower of Zaiden, what should I do with the rest? There's the foxkin, and then there is the elven hero, and Jabrill. What shall we do with them all? I surely have no desire to murder any of them, but there only really must be one according to the legend, as all others are fated to die should they seek it out and confront each other. I... am sure I must not back down. There's more to this, I fear than meets the eye. How does one open the way to the sacred realm to where the flower waits? I'm not sure, I was going to consult the grimoire, but when I went to look for it ages ago it was gone. No trace of it to be found."

"It should be a routine questioning. As long as everything checks out, you should be free to go within the hour. The Samurai may take a bit longer, but it shouldn't be too much trouble, three hours at most."

Jabrill wasn't sure this would be routine at all as he suspected he'd be placed right into the hands of Maven Auryn once more. The liar who says one thing and means another.

I hope we really don't get anywhere near him...a guard should ask us, but what?

The guards began leading the duo, Mari and Dareth, away, as pleasantly as possible when escorting them to a guardhouse. The guardhouse, actually. Only one.

Dareth looked at the guardhouse and was not pleased. He thought perhaps that this would be another interrogation that could go remarkably wrong if he said the wrong thing. Perhaps it would be best if he kept his mouth shut, but he couldn't be certain that keeping quiet would do him any favors either.

"So what kind of investigation is this on?" Dareth asked curiously.

Jeremiah knew they would take longer because of what they think i murdered a innocent elf. Which he knew he didn't murder a innocent one but they didn't know that and knew something bad was going to happen sooner or later. If he knew there could be Elven assasians watching him right now waiting for the rest to leave. Jeremiah knew he was being followed by the elf assassians at all times.

"You mentioned Jabrill twice, unless I don't know of a fox that isn't Jabrill. The best way to save your life is to kill the others, but you seem against that, so imprisonment is another option you could consider. You would have to find a prison, but restraining them in some way until you complete your task is certainly an important thing to do, as they are after you, and the elf tried to kill you, twice." Ayliah said, as Cherry decided it was time to leave. Maven seemed to forget that she was a seeker as well, and she wasn't going to give him time to remember. She slowly began to creep out of the room, as if bored, and exiting normally. For reasons of boredom.

The guard himself would not exactly turn him directly into Maven, but a few questions would lead them in that direction. Showing any relation whatsoever to the five people also arriving at the guardhouse around the same time would lead them there faster, as Dareth and Mari walked up, escorted by a trio of guards like Jabrill and company. Mari nodded softly, not enough for anyone not specifically looking at her to notice, towards Jabrill, before looking away, and continuing with her trio as the six guards entered the guardhouse, expecting the separate groups to follow.

"The Elf has almost slain me twice, but it is Jabrill who frightens me the most of all of them. His name has been coming through my mind ever since Grand Cleric Yorla asked for his life to be spared. Yorla is special. She was a Mercy brought in at a very young age, measured for her remarkable talent in prophecy. I have always been a skeptic of prophecy until the Lucante Grimoire found its way into my possession. Yorla asked for Jabrill's sentence to be commuted to being the seeker, and I allowed it knowing I was already seeking the flower myself, because I believed that it would kill him quickly. He wasn't battle hardened. He was just a kid. For her to call him forth as the seeker however didn't bother me until no message nor word came of his death. Time and time again he was thrown into a life-or-death situation, and time and time again he would live over and over. I made one gamble on my luck, praying that my people would love me more than they hated unbidden. I lost that gamble and so it might mean my fate is sealed. I don't know what I can do Ayliah. I'm stumped." Maven said as he saw Cherry slip out of the room. "That girl... she' also a seeker isn't she? Damn it... we need to get her as well." Maven said with exasperation.

The guard himself would not exactly turn him directly into Maven, but a few questions would lead them in that direction.

The group was led into the guardhouse as Jabrill sad nervously tapping as Dareth began to pace.

"What do they want from us?" Dareth said with irritation.

"I don't know, but I'm not sure I want to find out..." Jabrill said as he looked at Mari.

Maddy saw two storks flying over head through the aperture in the ceiling. One swooped down to deliver a finely wrapped letter to her. "What's this?" she said. "Wait i might have something to send back." Maddy opened up the letter with her claw and began to read it. Her legs began to feel heavy as she read it was from Maven. "HE'S ALIVE!! HE'S ALIVE!!!" she said triumphantly before she felt an odd feeling come over her. She grabbed the stork by the throat and yelled at the courier demanding to be told the exact location that this letter came from. No response came from the stork as if it was some kind of tradition to not tell. She then yelled at the other stork flying in the air demanding the location from where the letter came from. "Tell me where or I shall slay this stork courier here and now!"

Cherry thanked the Gods that the Treefolk built their cities of trees, as she looked back, throwing a spell that sealed the doorway completely, like the wood itself formed a wall to protect her, before turning and running, leaving the duo stuck in the room, at least from that angle. She encountered the guards at the main gate, telling them, "I think there is an assassin inside. He threw magic, sealing me out, so I came as fast as I could!" Cherry said, smiling as the guards ran past, not thinking for a second to question her. An assassin was serious business, and with rumors of an Elven assassin with a magic blade running throughout the castle, things were more serious than ever.

The guards separated Jeremiah from the rest, partially because of his status as Guildmaster, and partially because of the blood on him. Mostly the blood, actually. "So, Samurai, as we have great respect for your order, we are asking what caused this... mess." The treefolk guard looked a bit hesitant to deal with him, knowing how much stronger this particular man was than him, and hoping he kept the Samurai honor alive.

The rest were placed together, and asked one question first, "When did you enter the city, and what is your intention from entering?" There were six well armed guards here, but they made no move to remove the weapons form the people in front of them. Until they had a charge to formally arrest them, seizing property wasn't legal.

The stork merely clattered its bill silently in protest as Maddy roughly grasped it violently. The poor bird didn't know how to tell Maddy even if it desperately desired to live somehow which would require telling her in some way, but the bird could not. However the note itself had the marking that said it was "From: Sylandral" which meant that Maven hid within the Treefolk's protections. The storks both continued to struggle for their lives trying to escape Maddy's brutal madness. It wouldn't be long now.

"Ayliah! Oh no... I can't..." he cast the flaming specter spell and had a goat of flame ram the barrier guarding Ayliah from the consquential flame and then waving his hand aside which blew them out. "The seeker's gone!" Maven shouted as he rushed toward the hallway looking at the guards who approached.

"Have you seen a young treefolk pass this direction?" Maven said as he tried to remember distinctive marks, "She is short, thin, with brown, bark colored hair, and slightly lighter skin. she slightly bends over a lot. Texture of Cherry wood?" he asked the guards.

"She just sent us in your direction claiming assassins attacked. We came as quick as we could. Are you and the Chosen alright?" the Guard asked with concern.

"Which way did she go?" Maven asked desperately.

"She went that way." The Guard said confused.

"Thank you." Maven said not wasting a moment sprinting and light on his feet as he rushed ahead.

"I entered a few days ago. Just wanted to resupply before my journey back home to the Beastling States. Didn't intend to stay long." Jabrill said as he looked at the interrogator. Dareth just shrugged and let Mari do the talking worried that he'd say something stupid and screw them over.

Jabrill watched the interrogator carefully hopefully not giving the way the fact that it was a complete lie, but he knew that interrogators were chosen for their strong ability to perceive lies, so he would have to keep his mind clear and try to make sure the interrogators trusted his deception. Jabrill was used to having to lie to authorities as an ore runner, because if the dwarven authorities didn't buy his lies he'd be arrested and executed. This gave him a big incentive to learn how to lie like a professional, and this also made him a rather skilled con man, but he always took lying very seriously because like always he knew that if the person found out the truth, they might not just be cross, they might reward his lie with the gallows.

"It's my intention to head home soon." he said with a smile, covering his fear.

"Well in that case, I don't really suppose we have much a reason for keeping you here." The guard said. He wasn't the regular interrogator, due to the fact that the regular was busy with other suspects, and for this Jabrill was quite lucky. The group was released, but for Jeremiah, who was kept separate, with the regular interrogator, due to the alarming blood on his clothing.

The main interrogator asked Jeremiah, "Well Sir, if you could simply explain the cause of the blood, we could figure out what to do from there." Standard procedure would be to send him to court, but with the Grandmaster of the Samurai, some exceptions were made to the rule.

Cherry was running through the streets, turning corners whenever possible. She should have a good lead on Maven, so she hoped. Eventually, she stopped, leaning against the wall of an alleyway, tired.

Maven Auryn followed his way through the city, but it was clear that Cherry had managed to escape. He cursed loudly as he turned to return to Ayliah's side. The chances were great that the seeker was gone again. It had been so close for him to rid himself of one more problem, but it was clear that his compassion and fear may have cost him more than just a relic. This would mean a serious problem up ahead and he knew that this seeker wouldn't give up the relic to him. She was willing to use her magic to evade him which meant she was an enemy.

God's blood... Another situation made worse. What can I do? If they go into the Beastling States there's no way I could go there. It would be suicide. Damn it all... he thought as he walked past a foxkin who rushed past him.

"We that could have ended terribly..." The foxkin said as Maven irritatedly disregarded it and walked past, not realizing that Jabrill Nascent just passed his grip.

Han walked around, looking for this "Nirdasil". He finally glimpsed a couple of Vampires, and walked over to them.

"I am looking for Nirdasil," he told one of them.

The Vampire immediately stood up and brandished his weapon.

"Why do you wish to see the Holy Crusader of Zaiden?" the Vampire demanded, with a tone of protection in his voice.

Han was a bit startled by this, but he didn't let it show. Evenly, he stated, "I have a message from a friend. I need to find her. Can you please take me to her?"

The Vampire looked at Han suspiciously, and then nodded. "Don't try anything stupid," he said to Han, and started to take the Elf-Human to Nirdasil.

Nirdasil was still having a hard time keeping her peoples quiet and safe while awaiting the return of Maven. When the Vampire approached her, she was a bit annoyed. However, she was Nirdasil, and she would respect everyone...

"What is it, Stefan?" she asked the Vampire.

"Here is an Elf-Human who asks to talk to you," Stefan the Vampire replied.

Nirdasil turned to Han. She saw a short Elf-Human, while he saw a tall, regal, beautiful creature of terrifying beauty.

"My Lady," Han stated, bowing, "I bring news from a friend, who wishes to see you."

Nirdasil bowed in return, stating, "My name is Nirdasil, and I am the leader of the Chosen of Zaiden. What is your name, stranger, and from whom do you bring greetings?"

Han answered, "My name is Han, and I bring greetings from a foxkin who keeps getting into trouble - his name is Jabrill Nascent.

Han could see the surprise on Nirdasil's face for a split second before she was able to cover it up.

"Please lead me to him," she stated to Han. She turned and motioned to Isokar and Ukrieg.

"Make sure that they do not do anything that we will regret," she stated to her generals, pointing at her people.

The two nodded, and NIrdasil got away with Han leading the way.

I hope I can find him again... Han thought.

The guard trusted the Samurai, mostly due to his rank, and such, and because the man liked the samurai in general, back when they were a larger force. He had even considered joining them at one point. The guard nodded, left the room for a few minutes, before returning with cleaner, less blood-covered clothing. "Here Samurai. This should attract less attention." He said, nodding solemnly.

Everyone should watch this excellent show, and the movie Serenity.

"Thank you very much, I think these will come most in handy" Jeremiah said as he took the clothes and nodded.

Alright everybody, so I'm going to have this explanation be as simple as possible. Mystria will be ending in forum 7, and this thread will be saved, and put in the archive, and will be restarting in the NS forum with, of course, a full prologue explaining all our story thus far so we can get the story moving once again. Don't get scared, but I think it is best for all of us because:

1. We can't post as often as we used to. We used to be able to post every single day, and now we're lucky enough if we can post once a week.
2. more than half of our regular players are gone, leaving us with several of our relics gone off randomly in the storyline or leaving them immovable.
3. This gives me a chance to do recruiting, and reboot interest so we get new players and people in the region which is more fun, and ALSO, we have new players who are eager to get into Mystria as it is.
4. We get a chance to get our regional roleplaying started, and we get more fun around.

The New Thread which will be in Forum 7 will be entitled

Chronicles of Mystria: The Times of Sorrow II and This one as you can see has been renamed! So we're going to get it started as soon as I have the OP done some time tonight so don't panic.

I'm also going to give you a chance to redo your app (since most of our apps were lost, but I still have the master file) that said, those characters whose handlers have disappeared will become NPCs played by me unless this otherwise changes and we have a new recruited player to take over.
Read the Mystria Factbook if you want to Join the region, read the factbook and contact Spires.
