The Rise of the Cold War
War. War never changes. Despite decades of conflict, despite the enormous expenditure of blood and treasure, war never changes. The battles for ideology that shattered the world following the Hungramian war, shocked a world that had been shattered by war. A resurgent Republic of Cresilia, and a powerful and wary Legionica faced each other in a polarized world. Far and wide, tensions surfaced between the two nations, manifesting the extreme distrust that existed between the ideologies of capitalism and communism. The world in the early 1980's was on the brink of annihilation, as the two armed camps watched each other across the divide.
Yet the dreaded "hot war" didn't happen. Fast forward ten years and the Republic of Cresilia had nearly collapsed, facing a mountain of debt from military spending, the capitalist world was in decline, facing communism at every turn. It was said that the 1990's were to be the decade of communism, with the communist states, headed by Legionica, far outproducing capitalist states. Cresilia had just elected an isolationist neo-fascist President, and the neutral nations of the world increasingly gravitated around the Legionica sphere of influence. Facing a collapse of Cresilian world power, with the military being drawn down dramatically, states like Federated Republic of Ruridova became increasingly militaristic to save their shrinking influence.
By the mid 90's, the recession of the early 90's was over, and capitalist countries became equals with the communist sphere once more. Cresilia remained bitterly divided over resuming its role as leader of the capitalist world, with much of the nation increasingly favouring ceding that power to Ruridova. The Cresilian military remained a shadow of its former self, yet the crippling debt that stalked the nation was more manageable.
By the turn of the century, rising tensions between formerly cordial nations of Legionica and Ruridova threatened to plunge the world into a new, much more deadly cold war...
Rise of the Cold War is a much needed reboot of this RP. Started by Gertovia (whom shall be given full credit to the idea, I have merely taken over admin details of this RP), we wish to emulate the cold war on a completely new world, using our nations as blank slates for a completely new free form roleplay. We have some very dedicated members, and we are looking for new members to add to the ranks of this RP. We are a very open group, and won't turn any reasonable RP'er down, no matter the experience level. That being said, this RP has standards and we would like our players to uphold these standards.
Of course, I can not run this RP by myself, so I am looking for a co-mod for this thread. TG me if you would like to apply.

General Rules:
1. Don't godmod. We have standards.
2. Be courteous. We are all here to have a good time and contribute to a good RP, please don't ruin it for everyone else with pointless flame wars or trolling
3. Be reasonable. This is a MT RP, and our superpowers are already filled. If you join and work hard, you will become a regional power that even they will have trouble dealing with, but you can't expect to be able to take on the world and win right from the get go.
4. General rules of NS apply. If it wouldn't fly there, it won't fly here.
5. Be active. We don't expect you to post 20 times per day, but we do expect at least 1 IC post per week. I don't expect this to trump RL, but try and commit to this RP.
6. If you don't post for one week without prior notification, you will be put on probation. If a further week elapses, you will be kicked from the RP.
7. I am not a tyrant. In this RP we do major events/changes/etc by votes.
