Your Nation's Psyche

Postby Vauxhill » Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:29 pm

What is the emotional state of your nation like? Is it warm and open, cold and oppressed, or peaceful and serene? Are there any physical signs of it, or does one just feel it?

In Vauxhill, one can feel at genuinely safe and at peace. The people are friendly and danger does not seem ever present. On many days you could spot either the King or Prime Minister on the streets walking without security or police escorts. You can both feel and see signs of it. A few signs are that the police are not required to carry weapons while on patrol or even on duty, on public transportation many people are talking to each other. Due to the small size of the nation population wise, it seems that the people are very close and attached.

The following, though from another entirely unrelated thread, actually sums up the psyche of 1337 G4M3R5 quite effectively.

ie, anonymous, frantic, and often hostile.

1337 G4M3R5 wrote:Upon arriving the boy would likely find himself lost in a massive airport. He would wander for hours before finally finding a security guard to ask directions, and should he attempt to do so he would be immediately ridiculed for his hideousness.

This would likely go on for some time, with the guard calling his friends and they calling their friends to gawk at and mock the hideous foreigner. Perhaps worst of all is that none of them are speaking his language, but rather an incomprehensible language based in a combination of 1337 speak, binary code, ebonics and spanish. So he will only know they are mocking him by the tone of their voices. Eventually it is likely he will become angry and attempt to physically assault a G4M3R citizen, who will then beat him soundly.

As he falls to the floor, seeing the world spin in slow motion, he will wonder why...of all places...he chose to go to 1337 G4M3R5...

Finally, as his body impacts the ground and he fades into unconsciousness the guard will take his wallet, remove his meager funds and find the small blade. The entire group will once again erupt into laughter as they all pull various oversized weaponry from their trenchcoats.

He will come to and hear the only word he is likely to understand during his trip to our nation "fag," as the guard and his friends return to their various activities.

He will likely wander the area subsisting on scraps of food flung at him, until the headmaster of the school he has transferred to comes three days later to collect him.

Needless to say, his experience at the school will be far...far worse than he could have ever imagined.

Should he survive long enough to return home, he will be a battered and broken shell of a human being. There is also a high probability he will require organs to replace those taken from him in a dark alley while on an evening stroll.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-KtWjW8oXY&feature=related This song may help you understand, its from henry purcells 'fairy queen', it kind of gives of what the area of capital hill would feel like.

Now a more explainatory way to show it, it depends where you are, if you are in the general area of the capital (I.e.: If you can see the space elevator clearly) then you will most likely find the area very pristine, nature thriving, the people vary between generally nice folks, nobility, artists, basement dwellers (you wont really 'see' many of them, unless you find them trolling the Internetz) and Hippies with a sense of national pride. Now more near BosNYWash you will find the population dumbed down plenty, and the general populace there to be more rude, and the city to be falling apart somewhat, if your with the higher IQ group then it wont seem so bad. But god forbid you meet those under IQ 60

Considering how highly sleep is valued, probably closer to the tranquil and serene bit. But the lawlessness might be worrisome too, and the spontaneity when we're, y'know, awake. And the fact that the general place of a human is either as a pet, or a toy and eventual meal. Nothing really bad ever happens here, to cats, since bad things tend to require a little bit of cooperation, which just doesn't happen, but still, if you ever do somehow make it to this reality - perhaps as you dream - please ensure you are fit enough to give a bit of a chase, or else at least cute and not overbearingly smelly.

Our people follow the teaching of chairman Mao faithfully
My nation's psyche is constant mass movement to improve the conditions of Maolandia and fight against foreign aggressors.
On Attitude:
"We should be modest and prudent, guard against arrogance and rashness, and serve the Chinese people heart and soul...."

"Our point of departure is to serve the people whole-heartedly and never for a moment divorce ourselves from the masses, to proceed in all cases from the interests of the people and not from one's self-interest or from the interests of a small group, and to identify our responsibility to the people with our responsibility to the leading organs of the Party."

On death:
"All men must die, but death can vary in its significance. The ancient Chinese writer Szuma Chien said, "Though death befalls all men alike, it may be weightier than Mount Tai or lighter than a feather." To die for the people is weightier than Mount Tai, but to work for the fascists and die for the exploiters and oppressors is lighter than a feather."

Our people are kind of like Hannibal Lecter. They are sophisticated and well-mannered and usually very well educated. People are patrons of the arts and enjoy them. They don't care much at all for what happens outside of the nation for the most part. They take pride and are happy for their wide range of civil freedoms. But the people also have a barbaric love for violence, as long as the violence is done in an acceptable manner.

So the people are outwardly kind usually, and may be considered "arrogant" by lesser people.

Almost exactly like us, but we are slightly more gregarious.

In addition, we are a bit stoic and have little tolerance for what we consider useless. This manifests itself in our architecture and design. Building styles here are functionalist and brutalist. Inside, they are sparsely decorated, almost sterile looking. Even the homes of the very wealthy are like this.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again

Lazssians tend to be very polite, tolerant and friendly, but are naturally paranoid of strangers due to our history of anarchy and conflict, and thus are slow to trust. The older generations from before the War of Unification tend to be a bit cold and reserved, but the younger generations are a bit more outgoing and friendly. We are also very cynical, even in a huge crisis, a Lazssian can still be seen making snarky jokes and remarks. Due to our history of insanity and conflict, we often tend to take really weird things in stride, and so well to the point where an outsider would think we planned everything to happen. And when we get pissed, we really get pissed, not the ' come at you all stupid like a berserker ' kind of pissed. ( though if one did something bad enough..), but rather the ' I'll ruin your life through a complex series of malicious sabotage ' pissed, and that's only if you do something like cut in line or steal the last nacho. We also have very a warped since of humor, so if you ever room with a Lazssian, be prepared for a lot of twisted ( and seemingly cruel) pranks. We also have a very Spartan like culture ( though much more advanced and sophisticated) so we have a very big love of violence and a high affinity for combat . And due to our strong sense of loyalty, you if ever befriend a Lazssian, you the only thing you should worry about is them.
In short, being with a Lazssian is like being with a very dangerous, clever, cynical yet friendly escaped mental patient, just don't do or say anything stupid and you should be fine.

Most Kalashi are friendly, warn and open, but others, such as terrorist organisations...
Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

We are generally viewed as cold and standoffish, private, wary, and suspicious. People can be seen to make a conspicuous effort to ignore each other, and especially you, even while they are clearly aware of their presence. People move carefully, deliberately, and without sudden unexpected motions, being careful not to make any threatening moves. The streets are silent but for the noise of vehicle engines and footsteps: No one speaks, for others may hear. People, even groups, proceed wordlessly to their destinations. Outsiders consider the scene to be rather eerie.

Norvenians are deeply pious.

The community is very highly valued, and its sanction is avoided at all costs. This leads to widely accepted and socially enforced patterns of values and behavior.

Self-sacrifice is a revered value; the individual is considered less important than the whole.

Patriotism runs high, but so does dissent and debate; the conformity enforced by communities in terms of values and behavior does not extend to political beliefs, so elections are controversial and hotly contested.

The overall impression of most visitors to Norvenia is that, while Norvenians are quite friendly and tolerant of differences (in outsiders), they are a people of exceptional moral and religious seriousness, for whom ethical and spiritual values of loyalty, self-sacrifice, faith, and honor are the most important things in life.
