Since the current Roman Empire was inherited from the Empire of Italia (Formally a kingdom), which is a successor state to the Empire of Latium which was the core of the HRE (Before the Germans stole it) which was founded from the union of Italy and Rome, which was the Kingdom of Rome, which was at different points in time, a tributary state, autonomous dependency, or just a special part of the Roman Empire.

The medieval era was a long, very confusing and awkward point in time.

From 1812 until 1815, our nation was occupied and governed as three departments of the First French Empire.

From 1940 until 1945, our nation was occupied by the Axis and integrated into the Vichy France regime.

Yes, for most of its History the state of Texas was part of the United States until the nuclear wars of the 2030’s and 2040’s, when repeated use of strategic nuclear warfare resulted in a much more painful and slower collapse of civilization until either a total nuclear war occurred with the remainder of launchable nukes or there was no one left to fight, we don’t know. We only know civilization started back up 50 years after the last bomb dropped and now it’s 125 years after the war and the Anarchic State of the Texas Triangle has somehow stabilized to a level of normalcy since before the nuclear wars.

Yes, our territory was originally colonies of the Federation and the Consortium, however due to inefficient administration of the region among several other factors, they lost their grip on the colonies in our region and in time they formed the Alliance to provide them competitive protection against their old oppressors.

technically Japan due to the Grand Neko Migration from Japan since the 1920s scaping oppression and genocide due to a coup of the past friendly Japanese government which triggered a massive migration to the Caribbean leading to this states after the end of WWII in which the allies decided to create a Neko state in the Caribbean due to the new Neko majority which didn't made the locals happy but the locals where mainly friendly due to the persecution the Nekos were suffering.
Still this caused a few ethnic conflicts during the 50s and 60s along a massive socialist movement that took over the country after the 70s in the 1980 elections with a 86% of the votes with president Arturo Luis de la Madrid.

Yamoi has been ruled by three nations over its history. Yamoi was first colonized by imperial Germany as the Imperial Crown Protectorate of Yamoi (1887 - 1919). Then we were ruled by the Japanese Empire as part of the South Pacific Mandate (1920 - 1945). Finally, Yamoi was part of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (1947 - 1979), which was administered by the United States of America.

Dates above are for when each nation formally had possession. Yamoi came under military occupation by the next ruling power a few years before the official changeover, and Yamoi did not transition to full independence until 1986.

Verdant Haven has never been part of another nation as a whole entity. Rather, it is composed of a dozen regions that merged and broke in various combinations in the distant past before finally being united under a single ruling house approximately 700 years ago. They retained elements of their independent character as duchies under that monarchal system all the way up until the revolution 45 years ago, which nearly saw them fragment again after its success. They made it through that rough patch however, and today have reorganized as the twelve bailiwicks of the nation’s federated system of government.
