Repeal of penalties for being Gay

Postby Baer Shnaz » Sun Aug 16, 2009 7:00 pm

I vote for the repeal of all penalties that are inflicted on any Gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trangendered man or woman who come out of the closet or are open about their sexual orientation or gender expression. What say the rest of you?

Members are forced to comply with the many unjust laws the WA imposes onto them. No one truely runs their own nation, you serve as a mere puppet of the WA unless you decide to do something about it! Others say it cant be done but why do so many try and stop us? The answer is simple, the WA can be brought down if enough nations band together and stand against it! I'm not sure the 1st amendment protects homosexuality. If I recall, sodomy laws were struck down on the basis of the 14th amendment.

I was just about to ask CM what the First Amendment had to do with it--most arguments here concern the Fourteenth Amendment--and then you came out and told me. Thanks!

What sensible non-religious arguments can you find that go against homosexuality?

Yeah, because we need more people on the planet, and evolutionary imperatives are by some magic synonymous with moral imperatives.

And I counter with... population control.

We are living in an overpopulated world, after all.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Yes, but only insofar as it's applicable to the states. If one wants to get REALLY technical, anti sodomy laws were struck down under the 4th amendment, as incorporated into the 14th.

Overpopulation is excellent in my book. Less resources leads to more competition which results in a stronger civilization as the weak ones would eventually die off.
