Hercule Poirot must have been among the best detective dramas produced by LWT in my opinion. Miss Marple is also good too, so is Diagnosis Murder.

Jack Frost? or who's that other one from that scottish writer???

ah John Rebus, one of Iain Rankins creations. But i warn you if you do read the series with Rebus in, the bad guy is a little...predictable. Still good though.

I can't remember his name or the author's name but it was part of a series about a Japanese detective during the Tokugawa Shougnate.

constantine quishe, the world's greatest private detective,
from sandaliotis, where are you, by r.a.lafferty.

the second greatest, or at least most fun anyway, would have to be hercule poiro.

but then i like 'cozies'. the main problem i have with mysteries of course,
is that some poor bastard always ends up having had to have done it.

well almost always. except when it's more then one. as on the orient express.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

Monk is probably my favorite "real" detective. My favorite detective-like person is a tie between Shawn from Psych, Temperance Brennan (Bones) and Richard Castle.
