Good morning Nickia, I'm William Lee and this is Nickian News. Harmony City is in a brimming with excitiment as the city awaits the formal coronation of Empress Olivia as The Empress of the Holy Nickian Empire. Today we at the Holy Nickian Broadcasting Corporation are happy to the bring to you all the up to the minute news on the coronation. This morning we are joined by the our special guest, former member of the imperial household and imperial family press officer, Miss. Jennifer Logan. Miss. Logan, who covered the coronation of The Prince of St.Ida just 6 years ago has taken on the task of helping you understand the ceremony ahead. Matter a fact, I thing he has some new for us right now, Miss. Logan?"

Image
Good morning! Today Harmony City is getting ready of one of the most largest event is has ever seen, soon, The Empress of the Holy Nickian Empire will be crowned. After years of debate, commissions, boards and the verge of civil war regions of the former Bardustian Empire have finally come together as the single Holy Nickian Empire. William you have to be here, it has expected that nearly 12 million people are to ascend onto the city while hundreds of millions watch from their televisions sets at home. From some of my contacts back at the palace, it is likely that the coronation ceremony will be very different from what has traditionally taken place. As already reported, the Archbishop of St.Andrew will be conducting the ceremony but it is the role of the regents that have been kept a guarded. What we do know is that all the regents will take part in the procession following the The Empress. Back to you William.

Streets lining the procession route
As reported by every news network, radio station and news paper, the streets of Harmony City were all but empty. Children standing on post boxes and squatting on the curb, volunteers passed out freezes to keep the kids well hydrated as they sat for hours in the sun. A sense of community took the crowd as the millions of people pitched their tents and unfurled their umbrellas from the scorching sun that beat down upon them.

St.Andrews Cathedral, The Papal City of St.Andrews
The biggest and most important event the newly recognized Papal city have ever put together, the clergy packed St.Andrews Cathedral the the brim. From reviewing the seating plan, checking the press gallery credentials and situating the trumpeters the cathedral everything but calm.

"Ahh but of course Reverend, one would think they would have initiated such a conversation without me...no?" the tall lanky man spoke as he stepped out the slick back limo to a small crowd that awaited the arrival

God bless you holliness they cheered as he turned to the small group

"May the blessings of god be with you" he responded as he put out his right hand while making his way into the cathedral

The Regent of the Papal City of St.Andrews, the recently installed Pope Alexander is to lead the coronation ceremony. Symbolic of the Church of St.Andrews state religion status and the close relationship between the religious leader and the crown, his holniess was confident of his role but well aware that the empire and the world had his attention and the survival of his church depended on the a ceremony without a hitch.

Though not a young man, Pope Alexander still had a spring in his step and commanded a room once he entered. Still in a flurry of activity, the room stopped as the Pope enter the room. Well trained in protocol, the Papal Guard announce his arrival.

His Holiness The Pope rang through the cavernous cathedral as the clergy froze still to his presence

"My brothers in Christ" he echoed through the cathedral "Today is beyond our of Papal city limits. Today is not our day. Today is for our empire. Today we crown the one that has been anointed by god! In gods name, may your task be of ease and hindrance.Amen"

Amen, amen, amen..... scattered among the clergy as they took to their roles

"Well said your holiness" the Reverend Lewis, the Papal Secretary, congratulated as he followed the Pope to the alter to prepare for the oncoming ceremony

Princess Juliet's Royal Aparment, Harmony Palace, Harmony City, Bardust

The hub of excitement, Harmony City was swelling with joy and vigor as the crowds massed outside the gates awaiting the departure of the imperial family.

Standing by her, Princess Juliet gently peaked outside the the active below. Taken aback by the intensity of the cheering and the unpredictable numbers that managed to show the young royal herself began to feel the nerves.

"Your highness?" Lady Bredford asked as she noticed the princess was clearly moved in some pay

"oh everything is fine Bredford...just...have you seen the people out there? its almost concerning." the young princess known to poke fun was seemingly very concerned with the influx in the cities

"To be honest, I would not worry your highness. They have all come to celebrate with your mother coronation all should be well." very much her friend as her Lady-in-Waiting, Lady Breford did have a job to do "Your highness? I think its about time me make haste the gallery the rest of the family are down their

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government Palace, Bardust

"I trust you have people at the airports waiting?" The Rt. Hon. Albert Linton, Minister of Foreign Affairs, asked as he fixed his tie before departing for St.Andrews

"Yes Mr.Minister" the intern recited as she flipped through her notes "the diplomatic corps have people waiting"

"Very good" he responded "lets get this show on the road"

OOC: you may begin at RP arrival at the airport

Emperor Arathor Dralien I stepped out onto the tarmac from his jet, flanked by his ten bodyguards. The Empire was in peace, and so Arathor decided that he would attend the coronation of his ally. While Bardust was no longer by the same name, he felt that they were still the same entity that he met when he entered Osthia into the Imperial Commonwealth a few years ago. Bardust had helped Osthia in the past, and Arathor intended to repay his debt to the new Nickian Empire.

Though he had intended to accompany his brother the Prince of Oristano to the ICM trial, King Alexandre I decided that his duty to the people as their head of state out-weighed any responsibility he owed to his brother. Thus, Their Majesties King Alexandre and Queen Maria, and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Isabella disembarked their private jet at Harmony City.

"I've never been to an Imperial coronation, do yo suppose it will be very different from a royal coronation?" asked Queen Maria.

"I don't suppose so mother, but I've not studied the culture of the Holy Nickian Empire at all so I don't know what to expect." responded Isabella.

"Either way I'm sure it will be magnificent, it will be nice to enjoy a coronation, after the debacle that was my own coronation."

Grand Duke Rupert looked languidly about his surroundings as the engines of the Royal Jet hummed to a halt. Always prepared for a party, he had brought along his usual entourage of foppish young aristocrats and Cavalier poets, all happy to celebrate this crucial event in the history of Bardust. He had also rescued his cousin, the Marquis of Affingham, from his legislative duties, and the two stood together, resplendent on the blazing tarmac.

The Grand Duke skewed his large plumed hat to a jaunty angle, lit a cigarette, and leant contentedly on his cane. With any luck, this would prove a memorable occasion.

An event like this called for the all hands on deck. A distant cousin to the Empress, through the late Queen Dona, Former Prime minister Baroness Kim Ives of Longbow brushed off the dust and made her way to the airport to great the Osthia Emperor.

Short in stature but mountainous in demeanor, Baroness Longbow's heels clicked in beat as she strode pass the arrival delegation down the red carpet that met the large Osthian jet. Having known the late Empress of Osthia for some time, Baroness Longbos was rather excited to see her son for the first time since he was made Emperor.

"Is everyone ready" she shouted over the roar of the jets engine "They are our guest, don't forget"

Yes Baroness echoed from the nickian delegation as they awaited the Emperor and consort to step out the plane

"Alright then, lets get this going" the Baroness laughed as she held down her bob haircut as the warm air flow from the plane slowed down

King Nikolai stepped out of the plane with his entourage as they arrived from Nukk, the capitol of Siberia. It had been a long time since Siberian Royalty had stepped foot on foreign soil and it wouldd not be the last with the new regime change. He hoped to meet the Empress with the possible chance of gaining a new ally.

Princess Marianne stepped out onto the tarmac and took in her first sight of Bardust. She heard many things about the island nation from her sister-in-law Zara and had wanted to see it first hand. It was a shame that both her father and older brother were currently occupied by the preparation for the Restoration of Pendragon and thus sent her in their place. Marianne walked forward and prepared to exchange pleasantries with the Nickian welcome party.

After hearing the unfortunate events of King of Forteveille's coronation much speculation arose to if the King would even show up to such a media hungry event. A strong Nickian ally, there was no doubt that the Empress would not have invited the king to take part in the celebrations.

"Mr. Lee.." the deputy prime minister called out as he paced "What the time looking like?"

"We are good for time Mr.Deptuty, I trust the Forteveille plane will arrive in the coming moments"

"I trust your trip was without issue?" having done this time and time against slowly ushered the Grand Duke to the official guest limo, along with the Marquis of Affingham.

With a rather large delegation, 2 extra car quickly took the tail end of the motorcade to accommodate the entire Welcorn party. With that, the engine roared and sirens rang as the motorcade began to pull off and westward to the Papal City of St.Andrew's were the coronation was to begin.

With King Darlington airport a hub of activities as visitors from around the empire and the world coming to Harmony City to take part in the coronation, officials from the ministry of foreign affairs organized to meet foreign dignitaries and royals upon their arrival.

Making way through the crowds of people at the luggage pick up, a parade of 14 men in black suits escorted the a short round women with fire red hair through the service quarters and to the tarmac to waiting king.

She has arrived and we are now waiting for contact the lead gentlemen whispered into a black mic wired through his suit and out of his wrist. Flanked by her staff, Baroness Elizabeth Leroy of Lake-Rover, Minister of the interior, hustled to the King of Siberia.

"Welcome to the Holy Nickian Empire" Baroness Lake-Rover announced while a grin from ear to ear "On behalf of the Empress and her government and people of the empire...I do hope that you enjoy your visit and the ceremony to come."

As debriefed, Baroness Lake-Rover left little time for chit-chat on the tarmac and quickly ushered the King into the awaiting black limo. At the slam of the car door, motorcade roared into the distance as they went the pre-assigned route outlined by the Capital Region Security Agency.

"If you may excuse me your majesty, to much time on the tarmac would have left your arrival to St.Andrews late and i am sure you would not like that, no? " ever so curious Baroness Lake-Rover began to engage in conversation with the king "Do tell, what is Serbia like this time of year? I hear it can be cold"

With her blue purse in one hand and her other hand holding down her pale blue fascinator, Dr. Janice de Laws rushed to greet Princess Marianne as the jet engines slowly cooled down.

"Your Highness, its a pleasure" Dr. de Laws gracefully tried to curtsy as the roar of the engines shook her off her feet "Welcome to the Holy Nickian Empire" she spoke up fearing the nose and action on the tarmac would over power her "Zara has told me that things are going well, your mother is fine?"

The mother of HH Princess Zara of Estrimbaal, wife of HH The Prince Edward of Estrimbaal, and given the strain on resources the nickian parliament requested the Dr.Janice de Laws to meet the Estrimbaal delegation. With her husband, former Speaker of the House of Commons, meeting her and the delegation at St.Andrew's Cathedral, de Laws formally welcomed the princess to the empire.

In a slick black suit and black sunglasses, her husbands parliamentary security detail stepped forward "Dr. de Laws? we have to get on the move...the crowds are beginning to spill into the street best we get into position before thing get to out of control."

"Very well frank, Your highness?" Dr. de Laws pointed the silver luxury sedan awaiting the couple "if your could follow me"

As the door slammed shut the small motorcade raced before the crowds became to much to handle

"please your highness, how to everything back home? my husband an I were thinking of visiting Zara but you know how busy she can be around this time of year"

"Oh not at all, Doctor everything back home is fine," said Marianne as the sedan rolled down the street. "Zara is settling in fine, the people just adore your daughter. She would love it if you came to visit, she has been working hard to learn as much as she can about Estrimbaal's history and people." laughing to herself she explained, "I swear she has nearly read through half the Palace Library in Pendragon." Thinking back to the last time she spoke with her brother of life in Pendragon. Turning to look out the window at the crowd filled streets all waving flags and cheers she smiled knowingly, "You know I don't think this will be the last time you or I will see crowds like this for a coronation. Your people seem to love their sovereign very well." She finished smiling at the cheering crowds.

Queen Millicent II and Prince Christian sat atop the horse-drawn coach as it rolled through the Bardustian countryside, nearing the city of Harmony. With them were the royal couple's children, the six-year old Prince Henry and the four-year old Princess Harriett, whom they had seen fit to take to the city of Harmony, where the ICLC was held, for their first overseas visit.

"From one coronation to another," remarked Prince Christian as he flipped the page of a local newspaper he had picked up, recalling the eventful Fontevillean coronation the couple had only recently attended.
The Queen was admiring the last of the beautiful countryside as they drew closer to the bustling coronation city. She replied, "It was only recently, wasn't it, that Helena was at the coronation of the Prince of St. Ida. She told me Bardust, or the Holy Nickian Empire now, throws an impressive coronation."
"We shall have to wait and see... calm down, now, Harryo," Prince Christian warned an over-excited Princess Harriett, who threatened to jump coach.
"Ah, are these for us?" inquired the Queen at the sight of a pair of official-looking persons who seemed to be waiting to meet them.

A young woman in a navy blue dress suit and a designer rounded hat that sat just perfectly on her head approached the king. She curtsied very low with her head bowed. She then extended her hand, and placed a glass down on the table in front him.

"Thank you, Angela," James responds as he glances at her name tag. The Royal Flight Attendants were very courteous, and always made his drinks or meals just the way he liked them. He sipped on the short glass of Coca-Cola and continued to type on his laptop. He still had a few issues to take care of back home and just can never seem to tear himself away from work. His brother, across the aisle watched him and laughed.

James looked up confused, but with a smile, "What, Andrew?"

"Nothing James, it's just, if I've ever seen a work-aholic, you are the embodiment of the very word," His brother replied. They both laughed. The two brothers had a very close relationship and they both treasured that even though they both had very pressuring jobs, they could still be such close friends.

"ALL PASSENGERS. PLEASE BUCKLE YOUR SEAT-BELTS, WE ARE BEGINNING OUR DESCENT,'' says a man over the intercom. Everyone complied as the large Boeing 747-8 received clearance and proceeded to the airport.

"I do wonder when that Airbus A380 will be delivered," Andrew comments.

James nods, "As do I. Last I heard was they were working on putting together to engines. I'm not sure though. I leave that to the Mr. Siden." He referred to the Minister of His Majesty's Treasury, a good friend and a better accountant.

Soon the 747-8 landed smoothly as RAF pilots touched it to the ground. The bright sun made the brilliant navy blue and gold livery of the jet to sparkle. The jet taxied to the area where it was told to and stopped. The Royal Coat of Arms on the tail was a sign of grace and majesty of the Genovian Kingdom. An emblem that made every Genovian, when they saw it, smile with joy.

The jet's main door opened as stairs were attached to it. A security detail left the plane and secured the area while attendants rolled out the red carpet and etc. Soon, the king and prince of the kingdom were given permission to disembark the plane. As James stepped out, he was satisfied that the Bardustian Government removed the press. He had a terrible headache and the Tylenol had yet to kick in. He wasn't in the mood for the papparazzi. Andrew walked out right behind him and both of the men finally stepped foot on the cement ground.

Flanked by the a horse mounted division of the Capital Region Security Agency, jumped off her horse to greet the on coming stage coach.

A relatively minor official, Mrs. Parkdale took this duty very serious as it would be the most important official she had ever welcomed on behalf of the crown and government. Leading the welcoming party, "Welcome to the Holy Nickian Empire!" her tiny frame boomed as the coach shook to a stop

Andrew walked out right behind him and both of the men finally stepped foot on the cement ground.

"Really? I can't believe she's late! What do..." the young aid panicked as she and 30 other aid, interns and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lined the bottom of the steel stairs lead from the plane carrying the King of Genovia and his brother, Prince Andrew.

"I know..." the rest chimed in as they all looked around not too sure of the protocol

With a such a lavish and large event taking place just about everyone in government and form the palace had a job to do and these were beginning to stretch thin. With the senior member of government and the royal family very busy with the up coming ceremony all hands were on deck and favors where called in. A good friend of the Empress, The Duchess of Churchill once again offered her assistance in the greeting of the official guest.

Before they could think any longer, the expansive motorcade hauled to a stop at the far end of the long red carpet leading to the Kings transportation. A tall and skinny women, the duchess stepped with a fierce stride as she approached the top of the greeting party. "I am not late am I?" she asked out loud knowing well that she had been the last one to arrive, and just in time.

As the duchess fixed her dress and took her last step to the top of the arrival party, she was soon met by the King of Genovia and Prince Andrew. "Your Majesty..your highness" she curtsied "Welcome to the Holy Nickian Empire. On behalf of the Empress, I hope you enjoy your stay."

Keeping to some of the recommendation made by the ministry, the press had been barred from the arrivals as time of the essence. After a short chat, it was not long before the duchess got on and began to usher the King and prince into the awaiting motorcade. "If you may forgive me, we best be on our way there will a large number of guest and i think i would likely want to get to your seat before the masses take over the street, no?" The party hustled into the black limo, the door slammed shut and the motorcade raced off to the city.

look for casual conversation "So you majesty, I must admit, I know little about Genovia I'm sure you have a lot to share?" the duchess asked

Although King Albert did not usually attend coronations, he wanted to personally attend this one. Bardust was a very close ally of Haalstad's and he was happy to be at the coronation. The King's Royal flight touched town, and he got off the plane with his equerry and his two daughters. And waited to be greeted.

Having assured the Duke of Bondy that the flight had been thoroughly acceptable, the Grand Duke chatted happily with Affingham about the affairs of Bardust and Wallcorn.

"And how goes the construction work, sire?" asked Lord Greene.

"Oh fine," replied the Grand Duke. "I've started overseeing it m'self; only way to get something done."

"The fountain certainly looks marvellous."

"'Water: Concorde of the Muses', you mean? Yes, I'm rather proud of it. It's not easy to find that much red marble. I say, Duke" Rupert II interrupted himself. "Can I interest you in a cigar?"
"Under golden domes you'll find me carved in marble,
Like the Gods of the olive-groves, like the rivers
Where the craggy pastures sing for opium and majesty"
- from The Pleasure Dome by HRH Grand Duke Rupert II of Wallcorn

Princess Pairang stepped out of the Royal Jet. Her status as the only Catholic in the Royal Family had caused a minor scandal; some wondering if it was done intentionally to remove herself from the line of succession, but they also decided it would make her the best to represent Songhkot at the coronation of the Nickian Holy Empress. She wore a pink western style women's suit; deciding to go against the custom of wearing traditional Songhkoti clothing abroad. She looked around and admired the beauty of Harmony City as she waited for someone to greet her.

Having not seen King Albert and his family for some time, the Duke of Wellberg approached, royal family with a board smile as his military escort flanked the rear. Having his daughter, now HRH Princess Anna of Baaerink, merry the Kings nephew the Duke has had a friendly relationship with the Haalstad royal family.

"Welcome your majesty and your royal highnesses" the Duke bowed before the royal party "Welcome to the Holy Nickian Empire. It now may time to show you around, no?" he joked as he remembered the wonderful hospitality extended to him when he was in Haalstad

Stepping form behind the Duke, a little girl all of 9 years old shuffled to the Princesses. With a large bouquet of flowers in each hand the little girl streched out her arms and presented them to the kings daughters. "Your royal highness's, welcome i hope you enjoy your stay" her tiny voice mumbled

After a short conversation, as ordered, the duke rushed the Haalstad royal family into the motorcade. Within minutes, the black limo began to roar as the engines started and took off into the Harmony City countryside to Papal City of St.Andrew's

"Siberia is find, although the independence festivities are just now ending after a month of celebrating. So how has it been in Bardust since the formation of the Holy Nickian Empire?"
"I am Proffession."
