... what literature/media have you been influenced by or drawn inspiration from? I ask as a newcomer to RP in NS.

As many of you can tell, my nation has Chinese influences (i.e. the name, national currency and animal), and I intend to borrow some Chinese history and incorporate them into my nation's history.

I have a lot of inspiration for my RP's, my biggest one is probably my time spent in the Marine Corps. Aside from that, I take my inspiration from way to much to make a definitive list, but most things military centric and you'll find something close to what inspires me.

In what ways specifically? Is it limited to mainly military organization/weapons/vehicle/training/doctrine? Does the influence appear in your civilian culture?

My nation is a bit of a difficult to describe, it's more of a private security company than anything else, AKA a band of mercenaries. So trying to categorize one specific group as civilians is a bit difficult. It is more like a giant corporation if you will.

I don't really know to be completely honest. My nation draws alot of influence from Scandanavia and North-West Russia qua culture, however it's political policies are my own. For RP'ing, I suppose I get alot from the former Soviet union, in the manor that they intervened in foreign nations. (Whether this be covertly like in Africa, or straight out like in Afghanistan...)

My kangaroo obsession quite heavily influenced the way my nation is. I wasn't necessarily influenced by any media when I started designing my nation. Any similarities between my nation and certain media is entirely coincidential and/or subconcious and unintended media influence.

Rastynhaven is influenced by Azeri, Japanese, Vietnamese, Bruneian, Swedish, Polynesian, South African, Turkish, Hong Konger,
Dutch, and New Zealander cultural elements in a Magitek setting.
