Radictistan bears a lot of resemblance to RL South American countries in terms of its social structure and urban geography (comparatively rich urban core surrounded by vast shantytowns). I originally went for a bit of a Ruritania vibe which can still be seen in the fact that there is a politically powerful monarchy, but I've deemphasized that since.
