Christian because I find it to be the most logical position both intellectually and in terms of the practical effects on the social parts of life. Here come a chorus of laughs I know but whatever.

Oi with the arguing in circles over the same tired old topic yet again, and the trolling one another on either side with 'who is a real Christian' and 'why your logic sucks'. How about we put this one to bed again. It's going nowhere. You aren't going to change anyone's minds. Stick a fork in it kids - it's done.-Dread Lady Nathanica

Why only those two? Why not ask about all the other religions as well, or at least the major ones.

At least, in my experience at least.

What are you?

I'm atheist. I need hard evidence to believe there's any sort of god, plus organised religion has caused many of the worlds evils down the years, which to me shows that it's run by just a bunch of humans rather than some deity.

I'm an atheist because I find theistic worldviews unconvincing. I don't see any good reason to believe that a God or gods or goddesses exist.

I have a "godless" and naturalistic worldview that I find persuasive, and which works well for me.

Atheist.

While I can understand, appreciate and with a little effort even sympathise with the mindset of most types of people, I simply do not understand religionists. The stories they follow with seemingly blind devotion run completely counter to reality and logic. This goes triple for those brought up agnostic/non theist and then join a religion.

For example, I can understand how someone brought up in nazi Germany, mind-trained to hate what is different, could do horrendous things in WW2. Add peer pressure to that and you have an unintentional monster.

For someone with a logical (or close to it) perspective, educated and intelligent, for then to waste their minds and join an Abrahamic faith which by its very basic teachings suppressed freedom of thought and expression... well, I just do not get it.

Are you familiar with the old robot say? "Does not compute"

...as you can (not) see I am not laughing...

Answer to the question:

I have studied Christianity, and Judaism. I have concluded that the probability of their being a deity is infinitesimally small.
Also Christianity is a lie, because it ignores the fact that Jesus wanted to convert people to Judaism.
He did not want you to start worshipping him, Christians have missed the point of what Jesus was trying to do.

If you can explain why your position is logical both intellectually and practically then maybe people wouldn't laugh.

I'm an atheist because there isn't any evidence for anything supernatural, this making not believing in the supernatural logical.

Why are we assuming everyone is either Christian or atheist? I know plenty of people who believe in God and steer the hell away from Christianity, myself included.

Atheist (although since that seems to entail that I actually believe in something I prefer non-theist), because I don't think anyone quite has the meaning of life quite right yet, especially not religion.
Not saying that science has it right either, I do not rabidly support everything science says about the creation of the universe because from history I know that science keeps changing as our understanding deepens, and we don't fully understand everything yet.
So yeah, I'm not your usual "Big-bang Atheist", but I'm an atheist all the same.

I am an atheist because I realised that I didn't need to feel like there was something watching over me constantly, and I decided that religions are implausible, at best.
This was formerly a signature. One day, it may return to its splendid past. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures of my cats.

I'm atheist - I haven't seen a convincing argument for God and I don't believe that if there was a God, he'd let the world go into this state.

My issue with the big bang insistence of so many logical scientists is that, while supported by SOME theory, the big bang to our human intellects sounds as unlikely as the existence of god. It does also detract from other theories. It isn't the worst logical scientific theory but it isn't the best.

As humans we cannot, and maybe never will, truly comprehend how something physical can exist with no borders or containment. Everything we see is made of something tangible, no matter how nanoscopic it is (quarks). Our basic intellects are not equipped to think 'outside the box' on a universal scale.
