Global Warming v. Global Climate Change

Postby The Truth and Light » Fri Mar 11, 2011 10:08 am

I was debating this with my friends yesterday. They are both scientific theories, thus completely observable and mostly supported by evidence, except global warming does not seem as likely an idea as global climate change.

During the early part of the year, blizzards covered the US. Now, going by a strict, definition of global warming, this is countered to the theory. What I think is more likely, is not that the temperature is slowly rising over the whole earth, but rather the climate is shifting. Rainy areas are becoming droughty, beaches are flooding, precipitation is occuring in commonly dry spots, as well as the slow melting of the ice-caps. I think that, under global warming, our seasons should not be so polar. But what do you think NS? Which is the better theory?

I don't care, we can't sit around we still need to do something we can't continue living like how we do. This is something we can not take any risks about if we do it could be too late to change our way of life.

Thank you for calling me a child, I really appreciate it ;)

The climate changes periodically as it has throughout the sum of human history. We've simply entered a warmer epoch of the world's history.

So you do believe in climate change. Congrats on being contradictory!

Not unless I get drunk and start constructing a weather control device.

This.

Global warming causes climatic change, often resulting in disrupted weather patterns.

No we haven't, the climate is exactly the same as it was fifty years ago. The scientists are all bribed or lying. Same with the meteorologists, and the environmental agencies, and my thermometer.

Exactly. The government is making you hallucinate the effects of climate change by beaming false data into your brains from satellites! WAKE UP, SHEEPLE!

The current theory is false.

The climate of course changes over long periods of time.

Climate change didn't make much of an appearance in the public realm until the mid-2000s, though.

well blame that on the media, climate change isn't scary enough for them but it is the original description used scientifically. Death tax, killer bees, the media loves scary absurd names.

oh and Light the blizzards took place during the warmest winter on record. might want look how evaporation works. global rise in average temp. causes polarized weather patterns.

Highlight the words "I Think" and tattoo on your forehead, so you'll remember your not talking about what the scientific predictions actually is.
