Police Force in your Nation

Postby Khazyan » Mon Mar 07, 2011 9:31 pm

What are the cops like in your nation? Do they carry firearms? If so, what are they? Are they chambered in anything irregular? Describe your police uniforms. Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?

======================================================================

In Khazyan, the police are indeed armed. They carry H&K P2000 in .40 S&W, as well as lockblade knives and "Beating Rods." They were garrison caps, the style used by the Swedish police, or Ushankas in the North Phent province. They are not particularly oppressive, but seem to always be present. They will stay by-the-book in terms of traffic violations and trespassing, but they often meet violent crimes with near-lethal force. They are not known to employ bullets, nor their "Beating Rods," but, instead, prefer to use their firearms as melee weapons. This often causes serious damage to the victim's windpipe, as they often strike there first. Their CQB aggression is probably due to the fact that we seriously over-train them in close quarters combat, and they tend to use their training to quite the extent, though "Well" may be an overstatement.

What are the cops like in your nation?
Nice, cheerful, happy. They are college educated and are trained in close combat techniques, particularly against assailants armed with machetes.
Do they carry firearms?
Dear god, no.
Describe your police uniforms.
White T-shirt that says "Public Defender" on it, and blue shorts.
Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?
Relaxed and friendly; oppressive, arrogant, and power hungry cops are fired.

Our cops wear T-shirts with "Police" on them and baseball caps with "Police" on them. Favoured colours are blue and black but the Fatatatutti Mounted Police have red T-shirts and red caps, often with "FMP" on them.

Their duties include giving directions to tourists, directing traffic around sleeping ducks and keeping the doughnut shops safe.

The average street cop is unarmed but most Flying Squads are trained as Armed Response Units for whenever weapons are needed. Depending on the severity of the situation, they're equiped with 9mm pistols or submachine-guns, grenade launchers, shotguns, tasers, pepper spray, etc.

What are the cops like in your nation?
Generally like the police in France.

Do they carry firearms?
Yes.

If so, what are they?
9mm Glock 17 pistol. Nothing special. Special units use the MP5 and the police also have access to the FAMAS assault rifle. Apart from that, a telescopic baton, pepper spray and taser are standard.

Describe your police uniforms.

Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?

There is only one police department remaining in the nation, in the capital city of Sergeville. All other departments have been closed and cities and communities have outsourced protection duties to private security firms. Sergeville cops are armed. The private security officers may, or may not be armed, depending on location. Generally, nice areas like Black Jack and Crystalshore do not have armed officers, or very many of them. Uniforms vary by firm, but are generally blue. Cops are friendly and helpful.

What are the cops like in your nation?
The Militia, as their name suggests, are a left-over from the civil war. A ragtag bunch of ordinary citizens at first, they now actually get training, but still maintain their semi-anarchic attitude.
Do they carry firearms?
Yes. Usually SMGs but most units have heavier equipment.
If so, what are they?
PPSh-41s and Tokarev-pistols are standard in rural areas. In the cities the modern PP-19 is used more often. In rural areas a BRDM or even a BTR-60 are quite common. They don't joke around, start a carchase endangering civillians and they fetch the RPG.
Describe your police uniforms.
Camouflage fatigues, black armband with national seal in red.
Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?
That depends on what you did. Get stopped drunk and they take you home. Call the militiaman stopping you a wanker and things will deteriorate. If they decide that your attitude would benefit from closer acquintance with thedesk-drawer you're out of luck.

And then there's the SNK, Sekuritar Narodnar Komisarit, People's Commissariat for Security. Their task is to catch religious fanatics, foreign agents, and so forth, and to dispose of them. Also they make sure that noone works in a governmental office who has the wrong political mindset. Can't have some capitalist or religious scum infesting the government after all. They're the other side of vorondian law-enforcement - the ugly side. They make sure foreigners visiting our nation will...behave, and take special care of that kind of criminals who after long investigations finally get slapped on the wrist because a whitness was intimidated. They generally wear a uniform in dark grey, and carry the AK-104 carbine. There are few of them, and they usually only act on request of the militia. A sharp knock, followed by "Apers! Sekurite!" has ended many careers and lives.

What are the cops like in your nation?
Overall pretty friendly, helpful, ready to sort a situation out as justly yet politely as possible. They are all trained in the Rhodian Wu-Tang martial arts style as well as CPR, and most of them have completed some post-secondary education. All members of our Gendarmerie, however, have either an undergraduate degree or have graduated from the Royal Military College, and can speak fluently in all three national languages, as well as one or two of the other more prominent languages of the world, such as Reijistanian, Maraquean, or Grittonian. We strive to make our urban police forces and our Gendarmerie the best and most accommodating they can be, as in the unfortunate case something regrettable may happen to you in Greater Rhodes, these are the people who will help you through it and, if there are offenders, bring them to justice.

Do they carry firearms?
Handguns, yes, but they are concealed.

If so, what are they?
All members of the Gendarmerie use the MP-443 Grach pistol or MP5 sub-machine gun, except the MIB (the Rhodian Intelligence Bureau), whose operatives carry the much smaller Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol. Most municipal police forces are given more choice as to what type of firearm to carry, as long as it is a handgun and nothing larger.

Describe your police uniforms.

What are the cops like in your nation?
There are a peacekeeping force, that patrol the streets in blue and white Police vehicles, maintaining order in society and protecting the individuals from any harm. If a non armed suspect is spotted he is handcuffed and taken into custody, but if the suspect is armed, especially with a firearm, the police are authorized to shoot on sight. The main police force of the FSR is the FSM (Federlnaye Sluzhba Militsaya - Federal Police Service) and the secret police is the KFB (Komitet Federalny Bezopasnosty - Committee of Federal Security)
Do they carry firearms?
Yes. Every Police officer is issued a firearm of some type, regardless of status or rank
If so, what are they?
Each Individual Officer is issued a Makarov PM in 9x18mm as a general sidearm, but each squad car contains an AK-74m in Urban places like Leninia (the capital) or the AK-47 or a SKS in rural places like the small town of Kalhoz. Also, some squad cars contain shotguns like the Remington 870 or sometimes the Saiga 12k for breeching doors.
On the other hand KFB agents are more heavily armed with modern military equipment like the special issue CAR-15 Assault Rifle or the AK-108 assault rifle. (Other types do exist like the AS VAL, but they are less common than those two mentioned) The KFB agents carry the Mr-443 Grach or the Colt M1911 as standard sidearm
Describe your police uniforms.
Normal Police officers are issued a blue shirt and a red tie which they must wear to duty every day. They are also issued a name tag that states their name rank and their department. For headgear, they are issued a FSR Army Ushanka with the Red Star or a Officer's cap with the Red Star to symbolize authority.
On the other hand, KFB agents are dressed in everyday attire, or for some occasions a business suit so that they blend in with the general public better (fitting the role of the secret police)
Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?
The Normal Officer is usually relaxed and not so strict or oppressive for minor crimes such as public drunkenness, and wont cause unjustifiable acts of harm upon the individual.
The KFB agents are always alert and rarely deviate from the rules and are very oppressive and strict. They patrol the neighborhoods of cities and towns looking for enemies of the state, traitors and other high profile suspects. The KFB generally does not deal with regular criminals, they leave the job to the local police force

Stachland's police force is volunteer, except for a small corps of professionals, and patrols the streets unarmed. Under certain circumstances, the police may be allowed to carry certain weapons to subdue potential threats.

The standard police uniform is a green jacket over a white button-up shirt, with matching green pants and dark grey shoes. Many officers, however, decide to customize the uniform, a decision which is encouraged by their superiors.

What are the cops like in your nation?
Local, service-oriented police. They like to patrol on foot and interact with the citizens of the community, generally acting like "good neighbors" and focusing on solving problems before they turn into crimes or disputes. Most people know their local constables by name and know exactly where to find them if a situation comes up. Police stations have a complaints desk where an officer is posted 24/7, answering calls for service and taking walk-in reports of issues. Due to high ethical standards and independent civilian investigation commissions, the Voifrond police have remained relatively free from corruption scandals and use-of-force controversies which plague modern police.
Do they carry firearms?
Yes. Constables carry a handgun openly as part of their daily duties, for self-defense and defense of others.
If so, what are they?
SIG Sauer P228 (9mm Luger, DAO),
Describe your police uniforms.
Image
Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?
Pretty relaxed: they see themselves as public servants rather than authority figures. But that's not to say they're a bunch of pushovers. Treat them with respect and cooperation, and you'll get respect and cooperation in return. Break the law, and you pay the price. Constables are allowed significant discretion in how they conduct their work and are not afraid to use it.

What are the cops like in your nation?

They are a civilian security force, like most cops.

Do they carry firearms?

Yes, typically a Glock 23, or Sig Sauer 9mm or 10mm. For non-lethal/less lethal weapons they typically carry either a taser or a gun with wax-tipped bullets.

Describe your police uniforms.

Usually blue uniforms, though some may vary.

Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?

They are more relaxed but still quite effective. They won't give you a hard time if they don't have to.

What are the cops like in your nation?

Professional and efficient.

Do they carry firearms? If so, what are they?

Yes, one of the following (they can choose): Glock 21, Grand Power K100, HS2000 or Walther P99.

Describe your police uniforms.

They wear jeans and black T-shirts with their police badge necklace. (they dress casually). They also drive a black and white police car version of the following: lamborghini aventador, lamborghini gallardo, lamborghini murcielago and lamborghini diablo (they have to, since because Amuparia has a lot of highways, high-speed chases are an everyday occurrence)

Are they generally relaxed, or more oppressive?

They are relaxed, but professional and precise when it (rarely) comes down to shootouts.

The police in our nation are usually old soldiers who received a full military training and everything. To feed the police with young blood though Those who fail the test to join the military and the end of their training are sent to join the police. They always carry a firearm. Their uniform varies between province. They tend to be quite aggressive and trigger-happy.

Police in the Free Republic tend to be respected, and paid the same as members of the same rank in the Lamonian military. As the Police are a paramilitary force (which can be called upon to help defend the nation in time of invasion), they receive both police, and military reserve training (as MPs, mostly).

Do they carry firearms?

Yes. Mostly pistols and SMGs, but all police personnel are also trained in the use of assault rifles.

The Cops in Greater Cuba, are a all Communist party force. Whose main job is to:
1. Make sure the Regime stays in power, no matter the cost. And are often tasked, with silencing, certain....regime threats

2. Boosting the Cuban economy, through stopping Tourist hire cars. By stopping them for a supposed traffic violation. Resulting in them paying the $20 fine, and one the officer hands this in he gets certain, luxury items. By Cuban standards, Paracetamol, bottled water, Cigars etc...

3.Create a Big brother is watching you atmosphere, by having at least one patrol car with 2 cops per a block. Giving the impression, that it would be a very stupid move to try anything against the regime. Or commit, even a minor crime, which could result in you having nothing left, not that you have very much already, or YOU being silenced.
