"Adbots" is the generic term we use for those annoying posters who create a nation for the sole purpose of placing ads on our site. These ads are typically unrelated to anything NationStates and are generally posted by new nations as their only posts.
Sometimes these 'players' will snip a piece of text from earlier in the thread and embed a link. More often, it's an actual series of cut-and-paste links, sometimes with a gibberish post. Occasionally they'll just use their forum sig to sell their goods while trying to appear like a real player. They're not actually trying to sell NSers anything; they're just trying to improve their Google page rank.
If you see a probable adbot, you don't need to post links to all his ads. Just their nation name and a link to the member profile (click the name under the flag/avatar) is usually enough. When a mod gets to it, we'll most likely dump his entire post history and delete the nation, so you don't have to worry that we'll miss anything. Do look up the thread and note if he's already been reported.
