Who are Genesis?
A division of Project Aurora, Genesis Aerospace produces transport, passenger and corporate aircraft and employs over 15,000 people at the Genesis Aviation factory in Khayr Peace Valley. Primarily geared to the civilian market, Genesis is authorised under ITAR regulations to sell its transport aircraft to foreign governments.

Where do we come from?
Genesis Aviation originally started off manufacturing aircraft during the second world war to help the allied war effort, After hostilities formally ended in 1945, Genesis turned its eyes to manufacturing under licence passenger aircraft, then eventually started work on its own cargo aircraft during the late 1960s

Genesis Aerospace is located in Khayr Peace Valley, around 4km from Peace Valley international airport, customers wishing to visit us can either fly directly to us, using the Genesis airstrip, or if they are flying on a commercial flight, land at Peace Valley and catch the train to the Aircraft factory.

Genesis Aerosystems manufacturers aircraft and avionics components ranging from undercarriage components to large cargo aircraft to small to medium passenger aircraft and business aircraft. Added to that our site at Peace Valley International Airport provides maintenance facilities for airlines who are serving the Aurora Confederacy. Whether its a C46 from 1945 or a 747, Genesis Aerosystems are able to maintain it and repair it, however due to ITAR regulations, we are not permitted to carryout repairs on Fighter aircraft.

Genesis Mystic's in production

Genesis Production Complex
Located at Peace valley, the production line is a moving-production line using processes adapted from automotive Lean manufacturing methods in Japan, a continuously moving assembly line slowly moves products from one assembly team to the next. This technique keeps production moving at a steady pace, allowing employees to gauge production status at a glance and reducing the amount of work-in-process inventory.

during the constrion stages, the aircraft are moved on crawlers that are towed along by a track set into the factory floor. the moment the aircraft has its undercarriage installed, the crawler frame lowers, setting the aircraft onto its wheels, allowing it to then be towed across to the final assembly stages. In final assembly, the aircraft is pulled by a super tug that fits around the front landing gear of the aircraft. This tug has a sensor that follows a metal strip in the floor. The production line moves at a rate of about 4.6 cm per minute.

Total from first part to delivery: About 83 days

Serving the production line are 6 main overhead cranes to pick up items from the various sub-assembly stations that are beside the production line, and place various sub-stages onto the main production line, this makes the production line very efficient.

The C904 is powered by two high bypass ratio turbofans instead of 4 turbo props which are mounted high up above the wing in a similar configuration to the russian AN72 family to which it bares a close family resemblance. This high-wing location keeps the engines away from debris preventing them from being damaged by ingesting debris sucked up from the runway, another feature of the high wing is the ability to use blown-flaps in the so-called coanda effect. As the pilot applies flaps for take off and landing, the hot jet exhaust plume clings to the upper surface and is drawn down bringing in an element of vectored thust and so reducing the stall speed of the aircraft.

From the pilots seat, many old world dials have been replaced by modern LCD display screens, with the traditional yoke replaced by a joystick, and with the power available, the C904 can get airborne in under 800 meters, and with a range of 3500 miles and a ceiling of 45,000ft, the C904 is your ideal short field tactical transport aircraft.

For low speed handling, and to keep a low visual profile when on the runway, the C904 uses a H-tail configuration, similar in style to the Antonov AN225 cargo plane, and B25 bomber from ww2, this also gives a reduncancy incase one rudder gets damaged. At the wingtips, winglets help reduce drag induced by tip vorticies, making the C904 more fuel efficient, further more Tip vortices on the tail are also eliminated by the H-tail design, making the C904 very efficient.

Loading of the C904 is through a large tail door like any other tactical cargo aircraft, such as the C130 or AN12, but the C904 has another unique feature as if needed, the aircraft cab be specified so the entire tail section can be swung vertical like the nose of a C5 or AN124, allowing larger items to be loaded, or for trucks to back up to the floor of the aircraft. Once lowered for flight, 10 latches lock the tail down preventing it from moving.

For parachute operations, the stern ramp can be lowered down and the rear clam-shell door openned to allow parachute extraction of machinery or dropping of supplies without having to land, and in the case of a troop jump, there is also the option of side doors, allowing troops to leave by the sides of the aircraft.

undercarriage
As with any tactical transport aircraft, it will at some point in its life be expected to make regular landings on unpaved surfaces, this is not a problem due to the 7 point landing gear. one twin-tyre nose wheel situated on the centreline and 6 twin tyre main landing gears situated part way down the fuselage, 3 sets on each side. All 7 units are steerable, making for a manouvrable aircraft on the ground.

infight refuelling
The C904 is fully IFR ready, with two options, one system is the USAF styler flying boom, the other is the RAF style hose and probe method. With the KC904, the rear hinge fuselage is omitted in favour of a conventional fixed fuselage, with the internal cargo bay replaced by a 3 large tanks. at the end of the wings, the winglets that help reduce drag have a bullet fairing at their base, inside of which is a fuel hose reel. in the centreline is a retractable boom for refuelling using the US method, a hose is off to the starboard side of the fuselage.

Roughly the same size as a Learjet, and having seating for 8 passengers in comfort, the Freedom 94 is the Genesis entry into the corporate jet sector. Its straight-wings which are made from carbon-fibre give the Freedom 94 a short take off run compared to its rivals, and their long span means that the Freedom 94 doesn't just fly it soars, able to fly at 20,000m which is higher than most air liners routinely fly at. This high service ceiling means that the Freedom 94 as able to burn less fuel and fly further due to reduced air resistance compared to when flying at lower altitudes.

Accelleration for the Freedom 94 is brisk, its two turnine engines able to spool from idle to full power in around 3 seconds, this excellent response to the throttles, combined with electronic fly by wire control of the engines allows the engines to be set very precicely, the high power to weight ratio of the Freedom 94 also meas that single engine performance is excellent too, allowing a 600m per minute climb on one engine, and over 1200m per minute with both engines running. Even flying on one engine, the Freedom 94, with its light weight and long wings can still cruise effortlessly at 24,000m

Primary flight control is by fly-by-wire, though Genesis believe in safety and redundany in service so there are 3 back up systems as well as the primary flight control computer, each system is constantly checking the other 3 primary flight computers so if one computer fails, the remaining 3 computers shut that computer off for the duration of the flight, at the same time alerting the pilot to a computer error, and to which computer has the error. Should all 4 computer flight control systems fail, the final backup is a traditional hydraulic control system. Another feature of the fligt control system is the landing sequencer, where the pilot having flown the route is approaching his destination but the weather has closed in leaving no visual sight of the runway, the Freedom 94, using GPS information, the Instrument Landing System along with terrain following radar and the nose radar, is able to fly itself down to the runway, low the landing gear at the expected time and touch down, handing control back to the pilot after the aircraft has slowed to below 30km/h, though at any point during this operation, the pilot or co pilot can take over the landing to perform a manual landing.

Electrical systems: the on board electrical system is 28 volts throughout the aircraft for its primary systems, though passenger electrical outlets are 12v DC. In the main cabin there is soft tone lighting that can be white or blue to give a relaxing ambience, the cockpit has lighting that can be switched from white to red lighting.

Keeping the environment comfortable at 20,000m is a very sophisticated pressurisation system, each engine drives its own pressurisation pump, this gives a redundancy in flight, the intakes to the pressurisation system are located on the underside of the engine pylons close to the fuselage, air is passed through a fully electronically controlled heat exchanger system prior to entering into the cabin. After circulation through the cabin it exhausts through a vent between the fins at the aft of the fuselage. In case of emergency, be it a cabin depressurisation or medical emergency in flight, the Freedom 94 has two bottled oxygen systems for the passengers and a bottled oxygen system for the crew.

The landing gear on the Freedom 94 is a traditional tricycle style landing gear, however it is designed to be durable, each element has two tyres on it, rather than a single nosewheel tyre. Fitted to the leg of the landing gear are stone guards which help deflect any stones that get flicked up by the wheel away from the aircraft structure, this gravel kit is standard equipment on the Freedom.

To stop the aircraft on landing, the Freedom 94 has 6 wheel brakes, these brakes are equipped with an anti-skid system, which has 6 independent control systems, one for each tyre. Upon touchdown at an airport, primary deceleration however is by a thrust reverser system.

A development of the C904 Centurion STOL cargo aircraft, the C74 is a slightly smaller and lighter aircraft than the C904, however it is still designed for rough field operations as well as paved runways. Apart from the size, the main difference to the C904 is the tail plane is a T-tail configuration, rather than a H-type tail where the rudder fins are at the end of the horizontal stabilizers, then there is the rear fuselage which unlike the C904 is not hinged, instead it just retains the ramp design. Like any tactical transport, the C74 is designed for parachute operations, the stern ramp can be lowered down and the rear clam-shell door openned in flight to allow parachute extraction of machinery or dropping of supplies without having to land.

The undercarriage of the C74 is made up of 5 main elements, these are 4 main landing gear units, each with two tyres on them, and a nosewheel element, again with 2 tyres. This helps the C74 to spread its weight evenly over the ground. Retraction of the main landing gear is done by rotating the wheeltrucks 90 degrees, then folding up towards the middle of the fuselage whislt the nose wheel folds forwards.

Flight control is fully digital Fly-By-Wire using a side-stick cockpit design to make the pilots environment as ergonomic as possible, this is further enhanced by the dashboard being a fully digital system with 5 large colour monitors to display information to the flight crew. Keeping everything in check are 4 flight control systems, these computers work together and monitor eachother, providing a high degree of system reduncancy. If one of the computers develops a software fault, the other 3 computers will shut that computer down, and alert the pilot to the fault on the central diagnostic display above the central monitor. In the unlikely event that all 4 computer systems go down, flight control returns to electro mechanical operation.

Developed alongside the C72, the Genesis GA2 short haul airliner retains its ability to operate off unprepaired airstrips as well as paved runways making this aircraft the ideal airliner for airlines that don't have the luxury of every runway having a paved surface to land on.

Where it differes from the C72 is the inside of the rear fuselage. The fuselage of the C72 has been insulated against unwanted noise, and fully fitted out to function as an airliner, however this is a lot more than just take an empty fuselage and put seats in it. from the design of the overhead lockers to the design of the seats, care and attention to detail has been taken to ensure that passengers in the GA2 have a comfortable flight, with seats being fully reclining seats complete with seat-back video and flold up trays.

Because the design is a high wing design, in the unfortunate event of a landing on water, there is the risk of the aircraft settling at wing level, so to enable a passenger escape, there are 3 fuselage escape exits, as well as the regular doors. The escape hatches are located toward the rear of the fuselage and in the roof in between the wing spars, there is also the regular passenger doors that are situated toward the front of the fuselage , the front access also come equipped with retractable air stairs, this means that the aircraft does not require jetways at airports.
