If it were a '28 Days Later' type virus, it might be a little bit different. Also, airborne and waterborne spreading hasn't been ruled out, and neither has advanced cognitive function in the infected.

They will when they thaw. If you can make it to winter if you live in a region that freezes, you'll live. Just wait until they freeze, make some snow shoes and just go around with a bat and bust skulls.

I'm trying not to overthink it, but... since it seems unlikely that they enjoy 'regular' bloodflow, etc - it seems entirely probable that, as long as they actually don't stop moving, they (probably) aren't going to be overly affected.

The blood would eventually freeze if the meat did, as the freezing point of blood is around -0.5 degrees Celsius.

As a fencer (with swords), if I found an actual blade/bayonet of some sort I'd be fine. There are some fairly big kitchen knives in my kitchen, and a cricket bat in the garage. There's one corner shop 100yds up the road and another bigger one (a Co-op) a further 100yds up the road from there, as well as a used car dealership opposite the Co-op. Furthermore, I live in a very small town, so I'm lucky with that. Actually, now I look at it I stand a decent chance of survival.

I'd survive at least a year, I think, but I'd make sure I found a gun with one bullet just in case not. Oh, happy days...
