The Merina-class Aircraft Carrier is the primary capital ship class in service with the Hippostanian Navy.
The two "Sunstar" reactors give the ship an effectively unlimited range, or rather, an endurance limited only by its crew. The nuclear reactors drive a quartet of steam turbines which turn four drive shafts to propel the Merina and her sisters through the water at up to 32 knots rated speed.
The baseline Merina-class utilises a suite of air traffic control radars, 3D search radars and fire control radars that were state-of-the-art in the late 1980s when the class was introduced, and fequent updates have kept the ships current.
The most recent upgrade installed the '"Tesseract" 3D radar, which replaced several of the class' older search and navigational radars.
In addition, the Merina-class incorporates a package of fleet data links and helicopter-based sensor suites codenamed "Seahorse", allowing the Merina-class to better serve as fleet flagships and giving them better access to helicopter- and AWACS-aircraft-borne sensor suites.
Air defence for the Merina-class is handled by a combination of the American "Standard" medium-range SAM, the British "Seawolf" point-defence SAM and the "Phalanx" CIWS system. These systems function in a coordinated, layered defence system to eradicate aerial-based threats.
Please note that the Triton torpedo countermeasures package is not included with the export version of the Merina class.

The Amanda-class Amphibious Assault Ship of Hippostania is a class of large vessel designed around amphibious operations. Serving as a combination of transport for Hippostanian Marines, landing platform dock and helicopter carrier/escort carrier, the Amanda-class ships are the second-largest in the Hippostanian Navy.
The Amanda-class use an upgraded "Sunstar" nuclear reactor both to generate the steam used to drive the twin screw shafts, and to generate the electricity used to power ship's systems. The "Sunstar" is the same reactor used on the Merina-class aircraft carrier.
Amphibious landings are conducted using either landing craft or helicopters, or a combination. The Amanda-class' landing craft complement can be varied between either conventional mechanised landing craft or the larger and faster LCAC. Up to twelve mechanised landing craft can be carried, or three of the larger LCACs. Alternatively, up to 40 amphibious armoured vehicles can be carried in the 80m x 16m well deck, with an additional 18 on the vehicle deck.
The Amanda-class can support a full combat battalion of Hippostanian Marines, backed up by a combat aviation squadron, an armoured squadron and a smallish headquarters unit. In total, the number of Marines typically carried is just short of 1900. Up to 2,600 square metres is allocated for cargo, plus another 1800 square metres for the combat battalion's armoured vehicles. Typically, a squadron of five Merina MBTs is carried, plus assorted self-propelled howitzers and amphibious armoured vehicles.
The baseline Amanda-class utilises a suite of 3D search radars, air traffic control radars and fire control radars that have been kept current by periodic upgrades and refits.
The most recent upgrade installed the '"Tesseract" 3D radar, which replaced several of the class' older search and navigational radars.
Air defence for the Amandas, as for the Merina-class carriers, is handled by a combination of the British "Seawolf" point-defence SAM and the "Phalanx" CIWS system. These systems function in a coordinated, layered defence system to eradicate aerial-based threats. Being lightly armed, Amanda class mainly relies on its escorts for protection.
Please note that the Triton torpedo countermeasures package is not included with the export version of the Amanda class.

Carlisle-class Guided Missile Cruiser is a large surface-warfare ship designed and built for the Hippostanian Navy. It is one of the newest and largest combat ships of the Hippostanian fleet, and has proven to be an extremely valuable asset to the Hippostanian Navy.
While not a "stealth" ship per se, considerable effort has gone into reducing the ship's radar cross-section. Most of the surface "clutter" of antennas, old-style towers, small boat handling equipment and the like has been designed away or hidden behind surface panels. This gives the superstructure a very "clean" appearance similar to other modern ships such as the Dutch De Zeven Provinciën-class frigate or the British Type 45 Daring-class destroyer. The Carlisle-class is larger than either of those classes, however; comparable in length to an American Ticonderoga-class cruiser.
A twin-screw design, the Providence-class' two 5-bladed propellers drive the craft through the water at speeds of up to 33 knots. Each propeller is fully reversible and features controllable pitch for maximum efficiency at high speeds and maximum stealth at lower speeds.
Driving these twin shafts are four steam turbine engines, each rated at 22,000 kW, using steam produced by the two onboard nuclear reactors. These provide ample power for both propulsion and ship's systems.
The main armament of the Carlisle-class is its large bank of VLS cells. The VLS banks are arranged in two blocks, one forward of the control tower and one aft. Unlike the Providence-class destroyer, the Carlisle-class been designed around VLS systems to a much greater degree. The 156 cells are compatible with a large number of missiles, from the large Tomahawk naval cruise missile and Harpoon sea-skimming antiship missile to the Standard and Seawolf air defence missiles (the last in quad-stacked packages).
Due to the class' doctrinal role as cruisers, ASW has been de-emphasised in the design. The vertical-launching variant of the ASROC anti-submarine missile will fit the VLS cells, but is not normally carried in any numbers.
While missiles are powerful and effective naval weapons, for sheer versatility a gun still has its uses. Accordingly, the Providence-class features a 125mm/65 naval gun mounted in a turret in the prow. Though packing considerably less offensive punch than the missiles, the gun is often used against small targets for which a missile would be a waste, or to support amphibious operations with naval gunfire.
The Providence-class is designed around the AEGIS fire control system and its three-dimensional AN/SPY 3 active electronically scanning array radar. The AN/SPY 3 radar replaces up to five different radar systems in older ships, as well as up to ten antennas. In addition, the class has computer processing power set aside to handle UAV, UUV and other remote sensing platform data. As a part of this, the Carlisle-class incorporates a package of fleet data links and helicopter-based sensor suites codenamed "Seahorse". The Seahorse package is analogous to the US LAMPS III system, but is an indigenously-developed Hippostanian version.
The ship's defensive systems include both gun-based and missile-based defensive systems, chaff pods, decoys and torpedo countermeasures.
Air defence is handled by a combination of the American "Standard" medium-range SAM, the British "Seawolf" point-defence SAM and the "Phalanx" CIWS system. These systems function in a coordinated, layered defence system to eradicate aerial-based threats.
The ships of the Carlisle-class of destroyers incorporate a large helicopter landing pad area at the stern, complete with an aircraft hangar capable of handling up to two medium to medium-large helicopters.
Please note that the Triton torpedo countermeasures package is not included with the export version of the Carlisle class.

Providence class guided missile destroyer is the main destroyer of the Hippostanian Navy. Equipped with an extremely modern radar system, over a hundred vertical launching system cells and state-of-the-art SAM-system, the Providence class is a resilient ship that can easily chew through the enemy's defenses and remain safe at the same time.
Providence-class' two 5-bladed propellers can drive the craft through the water at speeds of up to 32 knots. Each propeller is fully reversible and features controllable pitch for maximum efficiency at high speeds and maximum stealth at lower speeds. Driving these twin shafts are four gas turbine engines, each rated at 22,000 kW, which provide ample power for both propulsion and ship's systems.
The main armament of the Providence-class is the large bank of vertical launch cells. At 104 cells, the Providence-class carries more missiles than the US's Arleigh Burke-class. Most of these cells are compatible with the "Tomahawk" naval cruise missile, though 40 cells are smaller and able to handle the Harpoon sea-skimming antiship missile and ASROC anti-submarine missile, as well as other similarly-sized, locally manufactured missiles.
The Providence-class is designed around the AEGIS fire control system and its three-dimensional AN/SPY 1D phased array radar. Supplementing this, the class features the AN/SPS 62 and AN/SPS 73 surface search radars, as well as computer processing power set aside to handle UAV, UUV and other remote sensing platform data. As a part of this, the class incorporates a package of fleet data links and helicopter-based sensor suites codenamed "Seahorse". The Seahorse package is analogous to the US LAMPS III system, but is an indigenously-developed Hippostanian version.
The ships incorporate both passive and active sonar systems mounted on the hull and as part of a towed array.
The ship's defensive systems include both gun-based and missile-based defensive systems, chaff pods, decoys and torpedo countermeasures.

Waverley class stealth corvette is optimized for low visibility, utilising stealth technology to minimise its detection range on both sonar and radar.
The Waverley-class utilises a PVC/carbon fibre/vinyl laminate composite as its main hull material, stretching this lightweight material over a steel frame. The composite material is less reflective to both radars and sonars, as well as being more fire-resistant and lowering the infrared signature due to its good thermal insulating properties. Lightweight composites also allow more speed to be attained from the same size hull, and are non-magnetic (which aids in MAD-based detection avoidance).
Primary propulsion of the Waverleys comes from a pair of advanced waterjets. The noise of a waterjet propulsion is substantially different from that of a regular screw propeller, and sonar operators accustomed to listening for propeller noise may have more difficulty in recognising the different sound.
The primary armament of the Waverley-class corvette is a 76mm gun which retracts into a stealth housing when not in use to minimise radar reflections from the barrel.
The class also incorporates a small bank of VLS cells, eight of which are sized for the Harpoon antiship missile, and twelve of which are set aside for the Hippostanian version of the British Seawolf air defence missile.
For anti-submarine warfare, the Waverleys include four 400mm torpedo tubes, as well as a pair of 6-weapon ALECTO anti-submarine rocket mounts, mines and depth charges.
A small to medium-sized helicopter may land, refuel and take off from the rear landing area, but the Waverley-class is too small for a hangar area. Hippostania currently employs the UH-1Y Venom helicopter with its smaller naval vessels.
Please note that the Triton torpedo countermeasures package or the Tesseract 3D radar is not included with the export version of the Waverlet class.
