It was the first Empress that calmed the storms of war, that had engulfed our world for a century. Mens feuds masked as national intent had kept our people in a state of war with one another for almost a century, becoming second nature to many of us. With no end in sight it was said the Goddess intervened, bestowing our women with the power they desired to stop the conflicts and bring back harmony to our world. One Woman in particular that we all know and revere The First Empress United the world under her, she seduced and manipulated those that lead the nations of our world, and for ever vowed not to let history repeat itself. To this day her vow holds true, we have not reverted back to our old ways of infighting and bickering we instead have united and gone into the stars and cut our selves a slice of the galaxy to call our own.

The women rule this is a simple fact all men should learn to accept in this day and age, those that cannot adjust do not last long. The Empress and the Overseer Council is absolute. Life is not harsh to Ikarans at least life goes on as normal, like the times before the century of war, the sun gleams on our home world and those under the Dominion. We work and our children play whilst our Armadas go forth and bring new worlds under our whim putting their native populations to a more productive tasks. Life is good in the Dominion even for the men.

The Dominion is a small steller empire on the edge of the galactic rim within the Gamma Sector of the Milkyway galaxy. Home to a race of humanoids closely resembling standard humans that have developed a society vastly different to most culture. Adopting a matriarchal culture at the end of the 21st century, after a cataclysmic event that left the female members of the Ikaran Race with telepathic physic abilities. the nation as flourished under the guidance of the Empress's of each century the Ikaran people have become a united force who see them selves more superior to most of the other races in the Gamma Quadrant. Imperialistic in many ways life in the Dominion is rather liberal if slightly female orientated, men are emancipated and have almost equal rights to females, but the divide between men and women and the other species in the dominion is very clear.

Whilst still a small stellar empire compared to some of the other frequents of the galaxy, the Dominion still holds dominance over several races, victims of invasion and enslavement they number 5 different races in total all having there worlds taken from them in brutal invasions by the Dominion, who opting to take planets with existing infrastructure rather then to build from scratch. Have had the bad luck of being targets for such expansion into the universe. The Slave market is vast within the Dominion and its allied States of the TSAR. Whilst great care is taken to care for slaves and rights have been given to protect them they still remain indentured servants to there masters, very few of whom every get given there freedom.

The Empress and her companions of the Overseers council have ruled the dominion for hundreds of years, ever since the revolution women have ruled over the Dominion The Empress a beautiful women represents the true power of the Dominion a strong women and a natural leader as well as the most powerful physic in the Ikaran Dominion. Rules with an even hand most of the time taking great pains in making sure that her people do no fracture once again into bloody war. The Dominion is far from a utopian society Splinter and terrorist groups exist, most male radicals wishing to bring back the days when men ruled over the Ikarans.

Ikaran History is a maze of cultural delight and and bitter wars. Royal kings and Representative democracies. Atrocities and do gooders, The Ikaran people vary but are uniquely Ikaran and it is their rich history that has engrained into them a culture that has lasted for centuries. Ikaran history is split up into 3 distinct era's Ancient Era, Pre-Cataclysm, Post-Cataclysm. The Cataclysm is a key event in History for the Ikarans it marked the end of one destructive ear and opened the doorway for the Ikaran people to appear united as a single entity and reach for the stars.

Overview:
The Ikara system is the birth place of the Ikari and the Ikarus Dominion. The Home System is home to 19,000,000,000 Ikari and is the seat of government for the Dominion. The Empress's also resided mostly in the Ikara system her Imperial palace is situated in the Capital city of Ikari.

Tarsus

Tarsus is a K Class terrestrial planet, made famous in history due to its abnormal Orbit of the Ikarus Star. Mineral and metal rich the planet has long been a mining world within the Dominion producing much of the home systems metal and mineral wealth. Rocky and barren most populations live under Pressure Domes and or in sub-terrainian cities where the heat of the star is bearable and enough oxygen can be produced to support life. The surface is dead and mostly flat due to its proximity to the sun during the day the temperature can reach up to heights over over 100 Celsius during the furthest point in its orbit from the sun and reach in excess of 500 Celsius when it is closest to the sun.

Most of the worlds 1,200,000 population are miners and surveyors, employed by the large companies that own most of the land on Tarsus. Tarsus has no moon but rather a large ring of asteroids and rock, that is widely believed to have been the moon of Tarsus at one point. Most of the orbital constructs around Tarsus are dedicated to mining the Tarsus Ring.

Lara

Lara is the second closest planet to the Ikarus sun and follows a standard orbit of the sun taking 192 standard days to make a full orbit of the celestial body. Unique in the system for being the only tidally locked planet in the system. The worlds light side can reach temperatures of over 300 degrees Celsius. Due to the lack of spin the planets gravity is very weak for a terrestrial body of its size being that of .5 Gs lower than the Ikaran homeworld. Geologists say the world is very active geologically, many thinking the world is the youngest world in the system only being a few million years old. Most of the population lives on the darkside of the planet. The Planet of Lara's major export is minerals extracted from the Lava flows that flow across the world.

Ikara

The cradle of the Ikaran Dominion and home to almost 12 billion of the 19 billion souls that reside in the system. Ikara is the life blood of the Dominion and her territories. Despite modernisation and numerous industrial revolutions of the course of the nations history the world has not been as ravaged by pollution as many thought would happen in the 21st century when the Ikarans relied heavily on fossil fuels. Whilst man made cities take up almost 2-% of the planets surface and major cities and be easily be seen from orbit during the day the world is still regarded largely as a garden world.

Ikara is made up of two super continents and three smaller sub continents and is roughly 66% water. The western most Super continent Sharadan is the smallest of the two continents and is mostly in the northern hemisphere. Sharadan is also where the Dominion capital city is situated just north of the Equator. The Continent is a mix of temperate climates with savannah climates more to its south.

The Second and largest super continent is the continent of Trendor. In the north of Trendor the climate is a snowy tundra made mostly of mountainous lands, the largest super volcano is situated in the region of Tren'solem, the geothermal pumps in the region provide 20% of the continents electricity generation. the central and eastern zones of the continent can be classified as temperate whilst the southern zones are mostly tropical in nature.

Ikaras sub continents are smaller landmasses just off the major continents with the exception of Articula a landmass on the southern pole of the world which is mostly covered in snow and ice.

Tarrut
Tarrut is a desert world that enjoys a moderate level of development. Throughout its early life Tarrut enjoyed an active settlement policy both civillians and governments pushed to colonise the planet toting it as a new frontier for the fledgling Dominion. Outlaws flocked to Tarrut due to how isolated it was in the early days. Nowadays Tarrut's terraforming is reaching its climax with another 50 years of terraforming seeing the world transform from a class L to a Class M Terrestrial world.

made up of 28% water split into two small oceans in the north and south hemispheres respectively most of the population of the planet lives in large cities on the seas edge. The planets is roughly 1.2 billion souls, the world is popular for its racing sports and trades almost exclusively various materials and minerals. It is most famous for its Rare animal hides that are some of the most expensive commodities on the Ikaran Market.

Jarus

Jarus is a massive Jovian orbiting the sun way past the Mo'kosh Asteroid Belt. ITs atmosphere is rich in various gasses and is home to several floating siphoning platforms that over the ages have turned into floating cities with most of their workforce living within the confines of the Mega structures. It is also home to over 30 orbiting moons of varying sizes, each of which is colonised to a varying degree. The Ikaran Navy is known to have a massive military installation on the moon of Janus

Kos

Kos is the furthest planet out in the Ikara System. Another jovian Kos is much smaller than its brother Jarus and orbits much slower than its counterpart. Being so far from the sun most of Kos is frozen many of the Gasses frozen to create an incredibly hazardous surface for the world. despite this most of the surface is still hidden from sight by extremely cold gasses. Entering the Kos Atmosphere is generally deemed dangerous to anything but the most specialised mining ships that are used to mine the various frozen gasses from the planet. Kos also is home to several moons most only the size of large Asteroids. These are home to many corporations that operate in the Resource rich environments of Kos and its near by Dense asteroid belts.

The moons of Kos are home to various science stations and monitoring stations That are used to monitor the outer system and the space of the Ikaran Dominion.

Hinzi is a rouge planet floating through what is known as the Atakani Expanse a portion of space within the southern portion of the Dominion which is void of pretty much anything. Strictly Hinzi does not exist in the public eye. Used as a military stop over for most military fleets moving through the Atakani expanse heading south. Hinzi is a phenomenon when it comes to rouge planets. Being habitable to most carbon based lifeforms and having a healthy ecosystem and breathable atmosphere held in by its above averagely dense core and kept heated by Geothermal vents that cover the surface.

Hinzi has one major population centre home to only military personnel. Nicknamed The Black Watch his a massive military base spanning over a mile squared of the planets surface with most of it built underground to protect it and its occupants from the local wild life. Hinzi is used as a strategic listening post the Entire expanse is covered by Hinzi and its massive net of sensor stations that run the length and depth of the Space.

Praise be to her Splendid Grace! Leader of the one true inheritors of the galaxy, mother of the Dominion and guiding light to all those out in the darkness of space. Let her reign be long, her wisdom boundless and her compassion never ending. May the Goddess smile down upon her this day and empower her with her gifts so that she may be true to all the Dominion.

Empress Tatiana Troy is the most recent Empress of the Dominion, how ever how long she has reigned over the Dominion has been forgotten. She has sat on the Onara throne for as long as any Ikaran can remember her powers keeping her youthful and steady over her reign. Empress Troy is well known to be compassionate and yet ruthful in her rule of the Dominion. Loved by most of her people and seen as the appitamy of Ikaran beauty Empress Tatiana Troy, as always been mindful of what the public thought for she believed that with the right guidance it was those people that would accomplish the goals and further the Dominion past even her wildest dreams.

Empress Tatiana Troy stands roughly 6ft tall with long flowing golden hair. Piercing green eyes and a perfect body, many call her the daughter of the Goddess due to her beauty and power. Undoubtedly the Most power Psychic in the whole Dominion. It is thought that not even the entire Overseer council could best her power. Her skin seems to shimmer with her power and it is said that her feet have not once touched the earth of Ikara or any of the Dominion worlds.

Empress Tatiana Troy was first discovered on the Underworld Streets of Ikara during an Overseer lead raid on one of the many underworld gangs that plagued it. Kidnapped at a young age she had been forced to commit atrocities in their name using her already considerable powers at the young age to give the Gang an advantage in just about anything. The Overseer commanding the raid felt her presence and soon found the young Empress to be taking her from the place to her Order House, where Tatiana learned to successfully control her powers and master them.

With the discovery of her power, she very quickly was named one of the potential successors to the throne. Still she continued to grow within the Orders house training to become an Overseer in her own right. When she became of age she officially joined the Order of the Watch. Quickly becoming the Apprentice of the Overseer who had found her several years prior.

Quickly ascending through the ranks as her powers only grew stronger she became instrumental in tracking down members of the Dagar Takani and was even instrumental in the downfall of the Nolus movement where she dispatched the leader Darrus Noles after he shot at her. After the downfall of the Nolus movement, Tatiana Troy disappeared for several years many believe it was this time that the Empress took her from the galaxy to educate her and pre pair her for the role of leading the Dominion into the new age.

Several years later the Tatiana Troy was found once again by her saviour who had found her all those years ago a special link between the two brought them back together. Found wandering through the vast woodlands of the southern continent of Ikara. In this time the ageing Empress of old had died and the naming process had begun. Eventually it was decided that Tatiana Troy would become the new Empress the Strict choosing proccess had deemed her the most suitable candidate and within a month she was Coronated Empress of the Ikarus Dominion.

The Overseer Council

The Overseer Council is the main governing body of the Dominion formed of 24 Overseers from each of the Founding Overseer orders, they perform the everyday government tasks to allow the Empress to guide the Dominion without the petty distractions of the state. No one Overseer holds higher standing than any other in the council despite the size of their Order. Despite the order existing for the sole purpose of running the nation the Empress's stead she still frequents the Council to help guide them in there task.

The Council needs a majority vote to pass any motion that moves through its hallowed halls. Whilst the Overseer Council technically has the power to do as they wish the empress holds the divine right to veto and counter any motion passed by the Council. Sometimes leaving the two at odds with one another. Despite this the Council is regarded as a highly effective governing tool with many of its different responsibilities given to a specific order to carry out.

Orders of the Overseers

Order of the Phoenix

The Order of the Phoenix is the Empress's personal body guard. An Order of warriors based around the ideals of purity and honour, members of the Order are picked out for there sense of duty and honour and their prowess as a warrior. The Order of the Phoenix is a vast order, with many roles along side their main role as protectors of the Empress, the order can be found all across the dominion in some capacity or another. The Order is distinguishable from the other orders being the only one to field White battle armour decorated in red glyphs and scriptures depicting the sigil of their order and the many great deeds they and their order have achieved over the centuries.

The Order also owns the largest fleet within the Orders, their size and importance affording them the honour of having there own battle fleet in, known as the white fleet in, homage and rivalry to the Dominion Navies Black fleet under the command of Admiral Ya'Nara Blacksun. The order styles there ships in white and red like the battle armour they wade into war with. Said to be neutral in all the affairs of the Dominion it has been known that their leader Lady Harpy Torr has had a hand in many of the happening within the High Council over the past few years.

Order of the Dove

The Aptly named Order of the Dove is the Dominions Diplomatic Arm, whilst quite large it is by no means as large as the Order of the Phoenix but it still carries considerable sway in the High Council and through the rest of the Dominion. The Order of the Dove has no combat arm but does have a small flotilla of space craft dedicated to carrying its diplomats and envoys through the galaxy when such need for them arises.

Order of the Watch

The Order of the Watch encompasses the Dominions special services and intelligence branches, these are the people who specialise in spying and black ops. Stealth is there game and they are good at it honing their skills for years, it is said Agents of the watch a sent down to a pre FTL Civilisation for a year as basic training, with only the objective to survive.

The Order of the Watch is very secretive the identities of their agents are one of the highest kept secrets in the Dominion. Whilst they arnt seen openly in the streets it is known that they are ever present. Even the fabled Marauders of the Dominion are said to fear the Watch and their capabilities. Preferring to operate in small groups or as individuals the Watch forces wear almost all black armour and clothing to signify their identity.

Order of the Mechanus

The Order of the Mechanus are all engineers at heart, they have spent their lives training in various forms of engineering and are said to be catalyst that propels the Dominion further along the tree of technology. The second largest Order in the Dominion, the Order of the Mechanus owns universities on every major world of the Dominion and has their own small fleet of warships, mostly prototype starship they had built to prove their designs are effective.

Another responsibility for the Mechanus is to take and analyse alien technology with the objective of reverse engineering anything that the Dominion does not have. Teams of Mechanus and Ikaran Marines frequent derelict hulks and space graveyards in order to take technology that may have been left over in the battle. These Operations have had a direct affect on the technology the Ikarans use today.

Government Officials and VIP's

Empress Tatiana Troy
The Empress is the head of the Dominion government, Head of state by Divine right and birthright. Her status as Empress gives her absolute power over the Dominion, even having the ability to disband the High Council if she so wished. However Empress Tatiana Troy in her wisdom has chosen to give the High council broader powers to aide her in running the Dominion during difficult times.

High Overseer Taxos
Amelia Taxos Highy Overseer and Prime Overseer of the Ikaran Dominion High Council, Amelia is the second most important person in the whole Dominion having only slightly less power than the Empress her self. Taxos is renown for her prowess in politics and as a business woman but is said to have some rather conservative views when it comes to xenos and aliens species.

High Overseer Talana
Dantii Talana is another member of the High Council and the representative member of the Order of the Dove. The Most liberal Ikaran on the council Dantii is known to seek equal opportunities for Xenos and Ikarans within the Dominion and has tabled many motions over her time im office to have the Slave trade be heavily regulated and legislated.

High Overseer Yalsa
Nuka Yalsa is the Order of the Mechanus representative to the High Council, and possibly one of the most augmented women in the entire Ikaran Dominion. Said to be a avant interventionist and left wing capitalist, she has been the source of several legislations being put into place allowing business to flourish outside the inhabited worlds of the Dominion.

High Overseer Yasmine
Killian Yasmine The Watches Representative to the High Council, not much is known about the Overseer other than she has not influenced much in the way of politics. She is said to a reserved interventionist how ever she is also known to have some liberal tendencies when it comes to Ikarans males within the order of the Watch.

The Dominion Navy

The Dominion Navy is almost an entirely separate entity from the rest of the Matriarchy, fiercely independent from the bureaucratic red tape and slow moving cogs of the Dominion Government. With the Admirals counsel only answerable to High Council and the Empress herself, the Dominion navy is relatively free to do as it pleases and has been known to launch small scale operations of it own with out high Council consent. As the most prominent Arm of the Ikaran Armed forces it is seen that the Navy has an image to uphold as they are the first thing most races see of the Dominion. The Dominion navy is large and efficient mostly brought about by its independence and willingness to always better itself, able to fund most of its operations through several subsidiary business's that pump money into the navy alongside the Government budget.

Whilst the Dominion Admiralty is the main command body of most of the Dominions naval might it does not command the fleets of that are in the service to the Various Orders that field their own vessels. These vessels whilst coming from the same stock designs tend to differ due to the various orders wanting to differentiate from the Navy. The Dominion navy is a very proud branch of the military and ensures that it upholds a level of standards within its crew and members to ensure that they do not threaten the air they have formed around themselves.

The Dominion navy was formed several centuries after the Great Cataclysm when the first ships left the orbit of Ikara to colonise the worlds surrounding the jewel of the Dominion, they came about with a need to keep system stable and to stop dissidents causing trouble in the colonies. Being the only force able to move between the worlds they very quickly became an entity in their own right showing a resilient independence. Eventually when FTL permitted the Ikarans to spread further than the solar system the Ikaran navy was put to the test prevailing in several short wars against several local powers in the area at the time cementing their place in the sector and forging their doctrine.

Fond of fighting in an indirect fashion the Dominion navy has a great love for missile technology and electronic warfare and fields a wide variety of ships capable of firing mass missile barrages. Each vessel within the Navy also fields and extensive Electronic warfare suite to aide in their preferred style of fighting.
